  • In rural England, a monument stands to one of the great heroes of the Reformation. He grew up far from the center of attention, but history remembers him as one of the giants. While others preached or developed doctrines, this man poured himself into translating and printing. His legacy? The Bible. Join John Bradshaw on location in England and explore the life of William Tyndale, the man who translated the Bible into English.

The Bible is our very life source. Thank God for men and women, like Tyndale, who are willing to die for the salvation of others. We all are indebted to these godly folks who walked in the image of Christ.
    God bless!

I haven't given enough time to read; I pray God will forgive me and strengthen my faith and thank God I have the privilege to have the Bible to read, as some people don't have the Bible available to them.

It's do sad that we hardly read the Word that people sacrifice so much to preserve

That’s why this verse is so sad.
    Amos 8:11-12
    King James Version
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.”
There’s so many tucked away & dusty Bibles right now. One day there will not be the chance to know God’s BEAUTIFUL WORD.

Excellent 👍 presentation on William Tyndale and the history of the English translation Bibles. He should be as talked about as Martin Luther. Gifted genius speaking 8 languages surely helped. And all the English Bibles today have origins with him. New American Standard Version & English Standard Version not to mention KJV and NKJV are my picks today. Didn't realize that the English translations by John Wycliffe had become outdated and needed newer English after 150 years. The poetry and flowery beauty that we love in KJV has roots with Tyndale.

This might be the wrong place to drop this but when I saw it was a brother I was ready to cringe at his responses but yoh I couldnt have said it better nor do I know anyone else who could. Not all people are the same. Its the beauty of the Lord he gives wisdom to them that follow him.

Tyndale and others were heroes. They just followed the Lord Jesus and the apostles in the "back to the Bible movement". The religion of Jesus day had strayed away from the written scriptures as the authority over the traditions and doctrines of men. Otherwise people can just make up any belief they want. Jesus was a Bible Man.

Why do you mention belief in bible so often, when it could, in most cases, be substituted by belief in God, Holy Spirit, whatever...REAL, something you can close your eyes and FEEL EXISTING here and now, everywhere, allways, anyone can do it!!!!
Not some ancient object-text, abused for malevolent personal gains by people which, if we are kind, were not of the purest heart nor soul, with far from clear motives, who messed with, and changed your so-called holy text to suit their agenda.
Have belief in something that can never be corrupted and exists, infinitely and eternaly in your heart, soul, mind, in that connects EVERY AND ANY consciousness in this universe and in all other universes that are out of our reach, not some old paper, no mater how important.

The bible is just like your car manual. It's content is the knowledge you're in need of, to fix or correct the problems.
