Also, explain the meaning of Fishmael’s presence in the EGO art. Also, isn’t the unreachable dream a Miss “Want Kimchi” Faust thing? Also, her eyes canonically sparkle, as an NPC in Canto II mentions how her eyes might sell well in the black market.
It's worth pointing out, when Verg put the boot in, Don only really seemed to stop arguing when he brought up the deal. So it was that threat, not the threat of violence.
I don’t think Don was really planning to react with violence anyways, but it doesn’t seem like she really feared the violence done to her either. A lot of that is probably just well, Don, but some of it very well might be subconscious memories of being OPplznerf, yes.
One thing I just noticed with that picture too. She does not have the look of someone being punished, you can see she is barely containing a rage to lash back against Verg. Given that she is 2nd generation to his 3rd, the indignity of it seems barely held in check with what ever the deal is.
@@angrymushroom26 I don’t think it’s exactly indignation at someone of her station being treated that way, subconscious or otherwise, especially since the Fixer fangirling probably is genuine. I think it’s more because Don is an idealist, if not one entirely grounded in reality, and Vergilius was denying those ideals. It’s something *important* for her, even more than the pain and getting the shit kicked out of her by a Color and all that.
I think the best part of the "don quixote gazing into the mirror breaking the delusion/dream" plotpoint becomes especially significant since Vampires are often portrayed as not being able to be seen in mirrors, so Don Quixote would need to gaze into the ABSENCE of herself to realize she's a lunatic.
Fun little lingual detail: Barbers used to be the original surgeons, not doctors or physicians, because they were already trained in the use and utmost care of sharp blades. Keep that in mind in Canto 7.
Another little detail: Don's funky new seasonal EGO is called Yearning-Mircalla. In case it's not obvious, the EGO Gift obtained from the abnormality it's tied to is called _Carmilla._ Carmilla, late-game reveal true name Mircalla Karnstein, is a vampire and the antagonist of a self-titled novel. This neat little vampire novel is actually one of _the_ oldest pieces of classical vampire fiction, predating even Bram Stoker's archetypical vampire novel Dracula by roughly two decades. Them choosing to take this little boob biter and directly tie her to Don is very interesting when we consider what exactly Don is. Not saying Don's a lesbian, but with how much of a point is made about countess Mircalla going under aliases for most of her life as a vampire, it's very fitting that an EGO based on her is given to someone who's hiding the truth of her existence even from herself. And who is also easily one of the oldest vampire-analogues in the City. That too.

Hohohoho. Tho jokes aside. IF the blood for bloodfiends is akin to emotions that might imply that the emotional state of the blodfiend is conveyed on their body. An emotionally stable bloodfiend may have a well developed body since they do efficiebt use of the blood . But a sad or emotionally unstable bloodfiend might need more blood to survive meaning they dont get as developed or strong. That would explain why more stoic bloodfiends are stronger since they keep their emotions in check and make good use of the blood. And in the case of Don its physicall manifestations is bazonga go brrt.

I never read Murder on the Warp express before, so imagine my shock when i read it afterwards. SPOILER A story which mystery was that a mafioso named Cassetti, was killed by joined efforts of 13 other passengers in revenge for killing a girl he kidnapped for ransom. The titular murder wasn't the dissappearances we investigated, it was us killing Cassetti.
On the topic of the “Bloodfiend treatment” theory. In YMFTCTB, Don mentions hearing about The Distortion Detective in the past, but is unable to remember much more about it, which would fit the whole “Moses met Don in Bloodfiend form” theory
Only issue is that sealed Don has no memories without Rocinante, which means that whatever she knows about Distortions and the Distortion Detective is stuff she found out as a "human".

We dont exactly know what Rocinante are, theory being it like the lock singularity, but if we look at Moses being the one giving the shoes, they could have been created by YuRia. Though that would mean that human Don is extremely young, but since BF Don does know of Dante (well she know that a clock is involved) so she might have gotten the shoes as part of the recrutement process.

10:00 There's something i have actually thought of not so long after TKT dropped - that it's not just the wrath/will of the faction she joins. To me, Don i every mirror tries to be someone else, devoting everything she has, to genuinely, wholeheartedly, become them. She is aware of horror occuring around her, but two-thinks it away, as if it's her brains defensive mechanism. However, in TKT we figure as well that she also copies habits of other sinners that she respects, like Meursault's routine or Outis pocketwatch. Do you think it's a stretch to assume Don is "overwriting" herself? Trying to become a someone else, so desperately, that she abandons any agenda, morals and beliefs of her own, for sake of the code/will/rules/priorities of the factions she works for? And the eagerness, the zeal, the passionate devotion with which she executes this process, is the only part of "her" that are her own. One is sure, going by her main affinity, she desperately craves for something. And that "righteous person" problem. Is it perhaps just question of figuring out "what it means to be righteous", instead? I always assumed Don's Canto will focus on escapism itself. Not dellusions she has, but the *need* to hold belief in them, wilfull an conscious, else her mind collapses under atrocities that surrounds her. After MotWE, I'm willing to believe that atrocity comes from her reflection in the mirror. .... The BIGGEST crack i can drop is how the lust for blood, familiar with addiction, can be also compared to addiction to fantasy of video games; directly calling out players on using the escapism to avert eyes from their own imperfection. After 4rth wall pickaxe to the face that Caches were, (or canto 4 for me, personally), im certain he's not afraid of calling out to the other side of the glass window.

One thing about Nosferatu is that it could potentially be older than lobotomy corp, being a naturally occuring abnormality, as seen with WhiteNight and the 3 birds (and potentially others). This could mean its also an abnormality that represents something in the city, like how the birds represent the head, eye, and claw, in this case probably representing bloodfiends.
I really like don i think she's one of the most heroic characters in the city. Because unlike most city folk she genuinely wants to help as many people as she can and we've seen her go to extreme lengths to try and do this. And honestly the only other character i can think of that even comes close to don's level of positive intent is actually Carmen her and don both want to help as many people as possible it's just that they have a different set of skills and different personality types so their methods are very different.
As someone who doesn't play the game, the revelation of Don being a bloodfiend drops feels like when the joke character stops being a joke and becomes a character to be taken, very seriously. Also I would like to complement you and say that this is the third or fourth video that is further making me want to play Library of Ruina and actually play Limbus Company for the writing in the world

There are moments trough the book where both names and actions of knights of fiction are mentioned, but that is not the fun part. At the start of the book there are multiple poems, witch tradition says that they should be from other writers, with said poems being dedicated to the book. However, Cervantes said that no one wold be willing to actually do that with a book so extravagant, so he made poems himself from the PoV of multiple characters, about the characters of Don Quijote, one of them being Orlando Furioso.

Group tactics, action economy, very precise mechanical phrasing for ability consequences (sometimes with hair-thin differences between things like Clash / Base / Attack / Final Power), heavily background-driven characters in a party that VERY MUCH resembles a group of classic murderhobos getting the riot act read to them by the local Red Gaze GMPC... I could go on, but suffice to say, Limbus is kinda already a tabletop campaign that we're just living in.

I'd like to refute the whole, "Nosferatu cant be the first bloodfiend because abnos werent a thing yet" abnos have always been a thing. The old L Corp is an example proving this, witht he snoke monster, as well as the tearful thing from K Corp, and the outskirts monsters in general. Abnos are just distortions that are able to be replicated, either because they are representations of thoughts shared in the city, like the apocalypse bird, or because of their relation to L Corp/Wing experiments. This would also explain how Kromer and Dongrang distorted into peccatulum instead of unique distortions. Nosferatu is most likely some sort of distortion/monster from the outskirts. And through the incident in which he made all the guest bloodfiends, starting the bloodfiend phenomenon, he became a subconscious myth of the city that lets him be "reborn". This also explains why bloodfiends can also appear out of nowhere, because bloodfiends, now as a monster myth known throughout the city, has become a canidate for distorting into if they just arent special enough for a chance to manifest EGO. But alas, it's all theory craft, but based on the fact that Abnos aren't unique to Lob Corp as you are insinuating.

You make a pretty good point. I can't say with certainty that this wasn't one of those abnos. The best I can say is that it's a gut call. It both feels right statistically since those abnos are the exception instead of the rule, and that it's hard for me to believe that LobCorp captured Nosferatu for their company. Less so whether they could, but more that idk if PM would do that. I could absolutely be wrong though and this is something I didn't consider before. Good comment
30:48 If I recall correctly, it’s said in Lobotomy Corp. that some abnormalities existed before LC, the birds were the ones mentioned, but it’s safe to assume that other abnormalities existed long before LC started making more, potentially nosferatu.
Something I'm surprised that hasn't been explored much when talking about the sinners is their LobCorp ID departments. In Don's LobCorp ID, she's placed in Hod's department. Not Yesod's, who has been skipped completely despite being the next Sephirot after Malkuth in LobCorp, Ruina, and even the Limbus announcers. The 4th Walpurgisnacht basically confirmed for me that the sinner's departments are very deliberate thanks to Yi Sang. Yi Sang's Walp ID has him put into Netzach's department, and Yi Sang's Canto has him show very similar arc to Netzach throughout LobCorp. Yi Sang states in 4-28 that his most hopeless moment was when he was revived by Dante. At the end of his Canto, he says that "From now on... I plan to face what I have left." He now has the Fearlessness to Keep on Living. This led me to the theory that Don, or specifically the Second Kindred, is doing something similar to Hod. The Second Kindred doesn't like how Bloodfiends are progressing, and decided to defect by joining Limbus Company under the alias of Don Quixote, which might lead the Bloodfiends to a similar fate to Carmen's group. Reminder that Hod's realization has her have the Hope to be a Better Person, and Don wishes to be a righteous fixer. another thing is that outis also part of hods department and all theres the jokes about outis definitely betraying us at some point so uhhhhhhh
on the note of Outis potentially being a Traitor, I've been leaning towards the idea that Outis is going to end up being a red herring to distract us from the Sinner who *will* betray us. I believe this for one reason: _it's too obvious for it to be Outis._ Like of course the character based on Odysseus, the man who built the Trojan Horse and the betrayal of trust it created led to the final decisive victory for Greece, the man who doomed his crew due to his own hubris by pissing off the one god he shouldn't have, who's LobCorp ID is in the department of the Sephirah who betrayed the Seed of Light Research Team after being pressured by the Head to confess about the atrocities happening in the Outskirts Lab, would obviously be the one to betray the Sinners. But knowing how well thought out Project Moon characters are, I feel that they intentionally made Outis look so overtly suspicious so that they can plant the seeds for the real traitor right under everyone's noses. I actually have suspicion about who the real traitor is going to be, and it hinges on us learning more about what Demian's faction is doing. But for now, Outis is just too much of a red herring for me to fully believe it's going to be her.
Y'know I was kind of making the "Bloodfiend's fate similar to Carmen's group" thing on the fly. Thinking on it now, that would mean that there would eventually be a Bloodfiend version of Ayin and Angela, and it might potentially become an endless cycle of the events of LobCorp and Ruina, which would be an insane concept.
Honestly for me, I may sound crazy but... My theory is that dons canto will be like "a play in a play in a play" where the bloodfiends are fucking around in like a fucked up play with using bloodbags as extras to create a play for people in la mancha land, with even the "actors" acting like normal people while in reality being bloodfiends, including those who "hunt" bloodfiends in a truman show fashion where nothing is really real and it's one big theatre

If the final boss of this chapter is a bloodfiend, then it will be fitting for Don’s final strike to be her lance piercing it’s heart. (Like Yi Sang, Ishmael, and Heathcliff did in their respective Cantos) Don has already stole our hearts, and she will steal the hearts of the bloodfiends (in a more literal sense)
So I wanna share something interesting I found reading through the fifth edition of VtM. The second kindreds in that setting are named “The Cainites” which makes me wonder if Don is going to get her own mark like Sinclair. Obviously nothing directly confirmed but still would be a neat bit of foreshadowing
I have two to read books in my house. I told myself I'd read Crime and Punishment first because of some connections I've heard about regarding One Sin. I watch this. Guess I'm reading Don Quixote now... Good video! It makes me so mad I didn't connect even a few dots after listening to Man of La Mancha to the point of knowing half the lyrics of almost every song, regardless good points and theories.
Not really the topic of this vid, but as you meitioned it: I don't think the bloodfiends, or any other monster, that existed before the white nights and dark days are distortions. In the christmas Intervallo when Dante first encountered the gnomes (third episode), they wondered what they are. They were pretty sure, they weren't human, that's for sure. And then Dante said this: "... They're not Abnormalities or Distortions either. They're something else." And there are a lot of these Monsters that are not a product of Carmens work. For example the Whales and Mermaids, the tearful thing or the smoke monster from the og L-corp. And I believe the original bloodfiends are this type of monster, too. And the new Distortion Bloodfiends are maybe the same thing from a different source (if so, i wonder what the connections between the original monsters and Carmens creations are) or something very similar on the outside, but have crucial differences. Just wanted to get this out, cuz many ppl say that there already existed Distortions before the half baked light squirting. Which makes the Monster type count go to 4: og monsters, Abnos, Distortions and corrupted ppl (thinking about canto 3 (though I'm not sure what they are and if they even fit in this enumeration)) Btw, I wonder how Kali got her EGO before the half baked light squirting. Thoughts?
@@eee1453 Elena isn't a Distorted Bloodfiend, since she was active long before the White Nights and Dark Days event (We see Angelica and Roland fight her together, and Angelica died during/after WNDD) Elena did Distort afterwards when she joined ensemble and was spat out of the light though.
There is one other thing from the Man of La Mancha that I feel might tie into Limbus Company. In the song "The Impossible Dream" the last verse of the song is 'And I'll always dream the impossible dream; Yes, and I'll reach the unreachable star." We know that Dante personally has a star to guide him, so maybe Don's impossible dream is to help Dante reach that star and triumph over whatever lies at the end there.
Wonderful video! I do see a common misconception being stated here that I wanted to address: Not all Abnormalities were created using Cogito in L Corp. On Day 42 in Lob Corp, Angela talks about the River (which I hadn't remembered, I wonder if it's the same River that's mentioned in Canto VI?) and how it's the "Beginning of everything," and that there's small "holes" in the world where "the river gently finds itself a stream." Immediately after, it's revealed that the Black Forest from the Three Birds' story is a real place in the Outskirts, and while not outright stated, all of the context points towards the Birds being creatures that emerged from the River (with her saying that "strange creatures" come out of the gap in the forest), which of course opens the possibility for there to then be more Abnormalities with the same origin (and part of me wonders if one of those Abnormalities is Every Catherine, if the River is in fact the same one that flows under Wuthering Heights). Another point I'd like to raise is the abnormality story for Plague Doctor, which states that it came to the facility of its own volition. While a bit touch and go in terms of validity due to the fact that the Abnormality stories are usually just that, stories, this one is part of a group of them that are actual records from the Facilities that housed the abnormalities before... so it saying that it came of its own volition in that story seems to be purposefully establishing that it came from elsewhere. And, while this next portion is much more speculatory, I felt I should still mention it: The three birds have one thing in common with a lot of other Abnormalities, and that's the first part of their serial numbers, the "O." It's been speculated that this means "Original," and refers to the abnormalities which are completely original, whereas T and F stand for "Trauma" (which seems to represent any and all types of trauma) and "Fairytale" respectively. Some examples of all three include Queen of Hatred (O-01-04), Dreaming Current (T-02-71, with the trauma being the imprisonment within the nondescript facility, I believe), and the Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary (F-01-57, with the fairytale being obvious). The running theory I have based on this is that "Original" Abnormalities are "born," while "Trauma" and "Fairytale" Abnormalities are created in some way, sometimes with Cogito, sometimes through other means (Snow Queen being created from Carmen's cryogenic pod, the "Original" Plague Doctor becoming the "Trauma" White Night). All in all, I'm at least 90% sure that Nosferatu *is* the progenitor of all Bloodfiends, due to the fact of the River's existence and the ties between Abnormalities with similar serial codes. Feel free to poke holes in the theory, I'd love to defend it further.
I think what you've proven here is that it's worth taking another look at both at the non-Sephirah or Post Day-45 cutscenes, as well as all of the old abno lore entires. And here I thought I was done after reading the side stories and Limbus Obs Logs. Thanks for the detailed explanation. I can't really refute or properly argue it rn since I don't have the information to do so. So uh, appreciate you taking the time!
When I started reading the Limbus books, not only did I enjoy them but I fell in love with how crazy the original Don Quixote is. I even had my own theory based on the meta twist of the Erlking being book accurate (before the Bloodfiend twist pretty much shredded it into confetti). You know how OG Quixote dried out his brain reading chivalry books, and part two was written in response to Avellaneda's fake Quixote story? I was so certain she was going be an escaped mental patient named Avellaneda who went crazy reading about the fixer Don Quixote and taking his identity, and the guy in the blue hat was the pissed off original Quixote sent to put her in her place. I mean Cervantes HAAAATED the rip off so much it was hilarious how the ending of book two was about nuking the fraud into non-canoncity. Yeah your theory is better. I do think that Canto VII will combine the priest/barber story but also how the nobility played cruel jokes on the original Quixote. I can see her doing her base EGO attack at the end of the first section, only for it to utterly fail and having everyone laugh at her as the Barber/Priest put her in a cage. The original book was funny but damn they were cruel. Other Sinner theories I have either based on evidence and/or maximum drama potential: Hong Lu will have the Marriage Spider Ryoshu is the *daughter* of the Hell Screen artist, not the artist himself (I don't believe this will happen but it would be kind of neat) Mersault is getting the golden bough for someone else because they asked him too, most likely Raymond and for maximum drama he's in N Corp. Both the book and him stepping up to the noose has me convinced that the idea isn't totally ridiculous and his canto could be about taking it for himself instead or some shit And the stupidest theory I have in all is Outis being an AI because I want her shard portrait to be a Trojan Virus pun

you should watch some project moon lore videos especially love town (its peak) and also about the identities: the different versions you see come from mirror worlds (alternate) like for example, instead of don having short hair, she has long hair

I saw someone make an edit of that twist with the Prowler sound effect, and the more I re-visit it, the more I think that the twist deserves the whole theme.
Ok. Abnormality history because when i got to that point i couldn't hold it back anymore. Abnormalities have existed before L Corp. The Birds are the prime rxample of this, having truly and genuinely come from The Black Forest. This is also somewhat supported by the Rabbit Team's dialog when fighting abnormalities of different levels in LobCorp. They compare them to the monsters from the ruins. Abnormalities can emerge from points where The River breaches into the world. L corp basically just made their own well to hit the river and dredged up concepts through The Bucket and injected them into a physical body. They made the production of Abnormalities into a factory process, effectively. You've done great work, do not take this as me insulting your work, you've gotten most things right.
Honestly, the Abnormalities also feel important to discuss what themes will be important. I doubt that we're going to lose Fixer Don, not only because of her popularity as a character but also *all three of the Abnos associated with the Battle Pass*. Rose Hunter: "Stories must follow their natural courses. This is the flow we shall follow, so accept it." A direct quote from Rose Hunter, one of the Abnormalities associated with this season. Something someone (such as the Barber) forcing roles onto people would say as justification of their abuse. Even the Rose Hunter doesn't even begin to think about betraying that Speaking of abuse... Hurting Teddy Bear: A toy full of nails and curses, covered in blood stains, something that's been hurt so much that even removing the nails doesn't heal, just reveals an empty existance if removed or ignores the pain if you fail to. Carmilla, one of the first vampire stories, reveals that the vampire was hiding her original identity, the Countess Mircalla. Ties well into Don, especially if Rocinante sealing her identity was in fact *her* choice at the end of the day. Also, when doing their event, you can either stop the Roses from drinking blood, which notes that it isn't its fault that it is like this, just that its trying to survive and forcing it to attack when left hungry. Feels like foreshadowing that, if we try to help her fix her problem that things will just get worse.

I think her name is a very, very big give away as to what she's about. Don Quixote, the novel, is very much about a man who slowly drowns himself in his own fantasy, ascribing most things he interacts with to his own fantastical, almost romantic, ideal. He views the world as a fantasy novel while everyone else is very much grounded in reality and, for the most part, just doesn't put up with this guy that probably needs a mental health professional. In this loose game series, the City isn't a happy place and is full of people very much aware of that reality, either having the means to deal with the horror of everyday or accepting that their time is probably very limited and they are just lucky to have lived this long in the first place. Having a character that is not only happy, but looking forward to the next day in the City is very jarring to say the least. Other characters would either probably treat her how others treated her novel counterpart, become jealous of her take on life, or be completely freaked out by the person who accepts their reality and what that person is capable of. Heck, if I was a resident of the city and met such a person, I'd be terrified of them, wondering how far gone they were or wonder what they knew that I didn't. Either way its probably better to stay away from such a person (pragmatically at least, because the possibility is low that they are in their right mind and even lower that could actually mean good things if I were to form a connection with such a person).
another thing about don, she mentions stars in her base id on home screen, which might? relate to star dante is observing (she says something like 'can you see the stars too?'), and those are related to singularities, so we might also get lore on that? like OG bloodfiend would be not just a distortion, but related to 'starseekers' in outskirts, like K corp singularity? ofc its just based on possibly throwaway line, but last time this happened was fairytale in K corp nest.

It's worth pointing out, when Verg put the boot in, Don only really seemed to stop arguing when he brought up the deal. So it was that threat, not the threat of violence.
I don’t think Don was really planning to react with violence anyways, but it doesn’t seem like she really feared the violence done to her either. A lot of that is probably just well, Don, but some of it very well might be subconscious memories of being OPplznerf, yes.
One thing I just noticed with that picture too. She does not have the look of someone being punished, you can see she is barely containing a rage to lash back against Verg. Given that she is 2nd generation to his 3rd, the indignity of it seems barely held in check with what ever the deal is.

I think it’s more because Don is an idealist, if not one entirely grounded in reality, and Vergilius was denying those ideals. It’s something *important* for her, even more than the pain and getting the shit kicked out of her by a Color and all that.
I think the best part of the "don quixote gazing into the mirror breaking the delusion/dream" plotpoint becomes especially significant since Vampires are often portrayed as not being able to be seen in mirrors, so Don Quixote would need to gaze into the ABSENCE of herself to realize she's a lunatic.
The question is whether she will fail the resolve check or not.

Another little detail: Don's funky new seasonal EGO is called Yearning-Mircalla. In case it's not obvious, the EGO Gift obtained from the abnormality it's tied to is called _Carmilla._
Carmilla, late-game reveal true name Mircalla Karnstein, is a vampire and the antagonist of a self-titled novel. This neat little vampire novel is actually one of _the_ oldest pieces of classical vampire fiction, predating even Bram Stoker's archetypical vampire novel Dracula by roughly two decades. Them choosing to take this little boob biter and directly tie her to Don is very interesting when we consider what exactly Don is.
Not saying Don's a lesbian, but with how much of a point is made about countess Mircalla going under aliases for most of her life as a vampire, it's very fitting that an EGO based on her is given to someone who's hiding the truth of her existence even from herself. And who is also easily one of the oldest vampire-analogues in the City. That too.
People with knowledge terrify me. But if this is true that PM thought of so much context behind a single EGO, then Kim is truly the god of peak fiction

An emotionally stable bloodfiend may have a well developed body since they do efficiebt use of the blood .
But a sad or emotionally unstable bloodfiend might need more blood to survive meaning they dont get as developed or strong.
That would explain why more stoic bloodfiends are stronger since they keep their emotions in check and make good use of the blood.

On the topic of the “Bloodfiend treatment” theory. In YMFTCTB, Don mentions hearing about The Distortion Detective in the past, but is unable to remember much more about it, which would fit the whole “Moses met Don in Bloodfiend form” theory
Only issue is that sealed Don has no memories without Rocinante, which means that whatever she knows about Distortions and the Distortion Detective is stuff she found out as a "human".

10:00 There's something i have actually thought of not so long after TKT dropped - that it's not just the wrath/will of the faction she joins.
To me, Don i every mirror tries to be someone else, devoting everything she has, to genuinely, wholeheartedly, become them. She is aware of horror occuring around her, but two-thinks it away, as if it's her brains defensive mechanism.
However, in TKT we figure as well that she also copies habits of other sinners that she respects, like Meursault's routine or Outis pocketwatch.
Do you think it's a stretch to assume Don is "overwriting" herself? Trying to become a someone else, so desperately, that she abandons any agenda, morals and beliefs of her own, for sake of the code/will/rules/priorities of the factions she works for? And the eagerness, the zeal, the passionate devotion with which she executes this process, is the only part of "her" that are her own.
One is sure, going by her main affinity, she desperately craves for something.
And that "righteous person" problem. Is it perhaps just question of figuring out "what it means to be righteous", instead?
I always assumed Don's Canto will focus on escapism itself. Not dellusions she has, but the *need* to hold belief in them, wilfull an conscious, else her mind collapses under atrocities that surrounds her. After MotWE, I'm willing to believe that atrocity comes from her reflection in the mirror.

The BIGGEST crack i can drop is how the lust for blood, familiar with addiction, can be also compared to addiction to fantasy of video games; directly calling out players on using the escapism to avert eyes from their own imperfection. After 4rth wall pickaxe to the face that Caches were, (or canto 4 for me, personally), im certain he's not afraid of calling out to the other side of the glass window.

One thing about Nosferatu is that it could potentially be older than lobotomy corp, being a naturally occuring abnormality, as seen with WhiteNight and the 3 birds (and potentially others). This could mean its also an abnormality that represents something in the city, like how the birds represent the head, eye, and claw, in this case probably representing bloodfiends.
Coming here after Canto VII to say, holy shit, you got like 80% of the plot correctly. That's some serious theorycrafting skills
I really like don i think she's one of the most heroic characters in the city. Because unlike most city folk she genuinely wants to help as many people as she can and we've seen her go to extreme lengths to try and do this. And honestly the only other character i can think of that even comes close to don's level of positive intent is actually Carmen her and don both want to help as many people as possible it's just that they have a different set of skills and different personality types so their methods are very different.
As someone who doesn't play the game, the revelation of Don being a bloodfiend drops feels like when the joke character stops being a joke and becomes a character to be taken, very seriously. Also I would like to complement you and say that this is the third or fourth video that is further making me want to play Library of Ruina and actually play Limbus Company for the writing in the world

For example, the Black Forest is a real place in the Outskirts where the bird trio existed without L Corp's interference. I think it was Binah who told us that, but I'm not sure when exactly.

There are moments trough the book where both names and actions of knights of fiction are mentioned, but that is not the fun part.

Group tactics, action economy, very precise mechanical phrasing for ability consequences (sometimes with hair-thin differences between things like Clash / Base / Attack / Final Power), heavily background-driven characters in a party that VERY MUCH resembles a group of classic murderhobos getting the riot act read to them by the local Red Gaze GMPC... I'd like to refute the whole, "Nosferatu cant be the first bloodfiend because abnos werent a thing yet" abnos have always been a thing. The old L Corp is an example proving this, witht he snoke monster, as well as the tearful thing from K Corp, and the outskirts monsters in general.
Abnos are just distortions that are able to be replicated, either because they are representations of thoughts shared in the city, like the apocalypse bird, or because of their relation to L Corp/Wing experiments. This would also explain how Kromer and Dongrang distorted into peccatulum instead of unique distortions.
Nosferatu is most likely some sort of distortion/monster from the outskirts. And through the incident in which he made all the guest bloodfiends, starting the bloodfiend phenomenon, he became a subconscious myth of the city that lets him be "reborn". This also explains why bloodfiends can also appear out of nowhere, because bloodfiends, now as a monster myth known throughout the city, has become a canidate for distorting into if they just arent special enough for a chance to manifest EGO.
But alas, it's all theory craft, but based on the fact that Abnos aren't unique to Lob Corp as you are insinuating.

You make a pretty good point. I can't say with certainty that this wasn't one of those abnos. The best I can say is that it's a gut call. It both feels right statistically since those abnos are the exception instead of the rule, and that it's hard for me to believe that LobCorp captured Nosferatu for their company.
Less so whether they could, but more that idk if PM would do that. I could absolutely be wrong though and this is something I didn't consider before. Good comment

30:48 If I recall correctly, it’s said in Lobotomy Corp. that some abnormalities existed before LC, the birds were the ones mentioned, but it’s safe to assume that other abnormalities existed long before LC started making more, potentially nosferatu.
Something I'm surprised that hasn't been explored much when talking about the sinners is their LobCorp ID departments. In Don's LobCorp ID, she's placed in Hod's department. Not Yesod's, who has been skipped completely despite being the next Sephirot after Malkuth in LobCorp, Ruina, and even the Limbus announcers.
The 4th Walpurgisnacht basically confirmed for me that the sinner's departments are very deliberate thanks to Yi Sang. Yi Sang's Walp ID has him put into Netzach's department, and Yi Sang's Canto has him show very similar arc to Netzach throughout LobCorp. Yi Sang states in 4-28 that his most hopeless moment was when he was revived by Dante. At the end of his Canto, he says that "From now on... I plan to face what I have left." He now has the Fearlessness to Keep on Living.
This led me to the theory that Don, or specifically the Second Kindred, is doing something similar to Hod. The Second Kindred doesn't like how Bloodfiends are progressing, and decided to defect by joining Limbus Company under the alias of Don Quixote, which might lead the Bloodfiends to a similar fate to Carmen's group. Reminder that Hod's realization has her have the Hope to be a Better Person, and Don wishes to be a righteous fixer.
another thing is that outis also part of hods department and all theres the jokes about outis definitely betraying us at some point so uhhhhhhh
on the note of Outis potentially being a Traitor, I've been leaning towards the idea that Outis is going to end up being a red herring to distract us from the Sinner who *will* betray us. I believe this for one reason: _it's too obvious for it to be Outis._
Like of course the character based on Odysseus, the man who built the Trojan Horse and the betrayal of trust it created led to the final decisive victory for Greece, the man who doomed his crew due to his own hubris by pissing off the one god he shouldn't have, who's LobCorp ID is in the department of the Sephirah who betrayed the Seed of Light Research Team after being pressured by the Head to confess about the atrocities happening in the Outskirts Lab, would obviously be the one to betray the Sinners. But knowing how well thought out Project Moon characters are, I feel that they intentionally made Outis look so overtly suspicious so that they can plant the seeds for the real traitor right under everyone's noses.
I actually have suspicion about who the real traitor is going to be, and it hinges on us learning more about what Demian's faction is doing. But for now, Outis is just too much of a red herring for me to fully believe it's going to be her.
Y'know I was kind of making the "Bloodfiend's fate similar to Carmen's group" thing on the fly. Thinking on it now, that would mean that there would eventually be a Bloodfiend version of Ayin and Angela, and it might potentially become an endless cycle of the events of LobCorp and Ruina, which would be an insane concept.
Honestly for me, I may sound crazy but... My theory is that dons canto will be like "a play in a play in a play" where the bloodfiends are fucking around in like a fucked up play with using bloodbags as extras to create a play for people in la mancha land, with even the "actors" acting like normal people while in reality being bloodfiends, including those who "hunt" bloodfiends in a truman show fashion where nothing is really real and it's one big theatre

The second kindreds in that setting are named “The Cainites” which makes me wonder if Don is going to get her own mark like Sinclair. Obviously nothing directly confirmed but still would be a neat bit of foreshadowing

Not really the topic of this vid, but as you meitioned it: I don't think the bloodfiends, or any other monster, that existed before the white nights and dark days are distortions.
In the christmas Intervallo when Dante first encountered the gnomes (third episode), they wondered what they are. They were pretty sure, they weren't human, that's for sure. And then Dante said this: "... They're not Abnormalities or Distortions either. They're something else."
And there are a lot of these Monsters that are not a product of Carmens work. For example the Whales and Mermaids, the tearful thing or the smoke monster from the og L-corp. And I believe the original bloodfiends are this type of monster, too. And the new Distortion Bloodfiends are maybe the same thing from a different source (if so, i wonder what the connections between the original monsters and Carmens creations are) or something very similar on the outside, but have crucial differences.
Just wanted to get this out, cuz many ppl say that there already existed Distortions before the half baked light squirting. Which makes the Monster type count go to 4: og monsters, Abnos, Distortions and corrupted ppl (thinking about canto 3 (though I'm not sure what they are and if they even fit in this enumeration))
Btw, I wonder how Kali got her EGO before the half baked light squirting.

@@eee1453 Elena isn't a Distorted Bloodfiend, since she was active long before the White Nights and Dark Days event (We see Angelica and Roland fight her together, and Angelica died during/after WNDD)
Elena did Distort afterwards when she joined ensemble and was spat out of the light though.
I think it was through a crude method of extracting EGO back when A, B and C were still doing research on cogito in the outskirts.

There is one other thing from the Man of La Mancha that I feel might tie into Limbus Company. In the song "The Impossible Dream" the last verse of the song is 'And I'll always dream the impossible dream; Yes, and I'll reach the unreachable star." We know that Dante personally has a star to guide him, so maybe Don's impossible dream is to help Dante reach that star and triumph over whatever lies at the end there.
Wonderful video! I do see a common misconception being stated here that I wanted to address: Not all Abnormalities were created using Cogito in L Corp. On Day 42 in Lob Corp, Angela talks about the River (which I hadn't remembered, I wonder if it's the same River that's mentioned in Canto VI?) and how it's the "Beginning of everything," and that there's small "holes" in the world where "the river gently finds itself a stream." Immediately after, it's revealed that the Black Forest from the Three Birds' story is a real place in the Outskirts, and while not outright stated, all of the context points towards the Birds being creatures that emerged from the River (with her saying that "strange creatures" come out of the gap in the forest), which of course opens the possibility for there to then be more Abnormalities with the same origin (and part of me wonders if one of those Abnormalities is Every Catherine, if the River is in fact the same one that flows under Wuthering Heights). Another point I'd like to raise is the abnormality story for Plague Doctor, which states that it came to the facility of its own volition. While a bit touch and go in terms of validity due to the fact that the Abnormality stories are usually just that, stories, this one is part of a group of them that are actual records from the Facilities that housed the abnormalities before... so it saying that it came of its own volition in that story seems to be purposefully establishing that it came from elsewhere.
And, while this next portion is much more speculatory, I felt I should still mention it: The three birds have one thing in common with a lot of other Abnormalities, and that's the first part of their serial numbers, the "O." It's been speculated that this means "Original," and refers to the abnormalities which are completely original, whereas T and F stand for "Trauma" (which seems to represent any and all types of trauma) and "Fairytale" respectively. Some examples of all three include Queen of Hatred (O-01-04), Dreaming Current (T-02-71, with the trauma being the imprisonment within the nondescript facility, I believe), and the Little Red Riding Hooded Mercenary (F-01-57, with the fairytale being obvious). The running theory I have based on this is that "Original" Abnormalities are "born," while "Trauma" and "Fairytale" Abnormalities are created in some way, sometimes with Cogito, sometimes through other means (Snow Queen being created from Carmen's cryogenic pod, the "Original" Plague Doctor becoming the "Trauma" White Night).
All in all, I'm at least 90% sure that Nosferatu *is* the progenitor of all Bloodfiends, due to the fact of the River's existence and the ties between Abnormalities with similar serial codes. Feel free to poke holes in the theory, I'd love to defend it further.
I think what you've proven here is that it's worth taking another look at both at the non-Sephirah or Post Day-45 cutscenes, as well as all of the old abno lore entires.

When I started reading the Limbus books, not only did I enjoy them but I fell in love with how crazy the original Don Quixote is. I even had my own theory based on the meta twist of the Erlking being book accurate (before the Bloodfiend twist pretty much shredded it into confetti).
You know how OG Quixote dried out his brain reading chivalry books, and part two was written in response to Avellaneda's fake Quixote story? I was so certain she was going be an escaped mental patient named Avellaneda who went crazy reading about the fixer Don Quixote and taking his identity, and the guy in the blue hat was the pissed off original Quixote sent to put her in her place. I mean Cervantes HAAAATED the rip off so much it was hilarious how the ending of book two was about nuking the fraud into non-canoncity.

I do think that Canto VII will combine the priest/barber story but also how the nobility played cruel jokes on the original Quixote. I can see her doing her base EGO attack at the end of the first section, only for it to utterly fail and having everyone laugh at her as the Barber/Priest put her in a cage. The original book was funny but damn they were cruel.

Ryoshu is the *daughter* of the Hell Screen artist, not the artist himself (I don't believe this will happen but it would be kind of neat)
Mersault is getting the golden bough for someone else because they asked him too, most likely Raymond and for maximum drama he's in N Corp. Both the book and him stepping up to the noose has me convinced that the idea isn't totally ridiculous and his canto could be about taking it for himself instead or some shit
And the stupidest theory I have in all is Outis being an AI because I want her shard portrait to be a Trojan Virus pun

Abnormalities have existed before L Corp. The Birds are the prime rxample of this, having truly and genuinely come from The Black Forest.
This is also somewhat supported by the Rabbit Team's dialog when fighting abnormalities of different levels in LobCorp. They compare them to the monsters from the ruins.
Abnormalities can emerge from points where The River breaches into the world. L corp basically just made their own well to hit the river and dredged up concepts through The Bucket and injected them into a physical body. They made the production of Abnormalities into a factory process, effectively.

Hurting Teddy Bear: A toy full of nails and curses, covered in blood stains, something that's been hurt so much that even removing the nails doesn't heal, just reveals an empty existance if removed or ignores the pain if you fail to. I don't think Don's going to be okay even after the metaphorical nails are removed.
Four Hundred Roses: The E.G.O. Gift associated with this one is Carmilla and its Skill is Yearning-Mircalla. Carmilla, one of the first vampire stories, reveals that the vampire was hiding her original identity, the Countess Mircalla. Ties well into Don, especially if Rocinante sealing her identity was in fact *her* choice at the end of the day.
Also, when doing their event, you can either stop the Roses from drinking blood, which notes that it isn't its fault that it is like this, just that its trying to survive and forcing it to attack when left hungry. Feels like foreshadowing that, if we try to help her fix her problem that things will just get worse.

I think her name is a very, very big give away as to what she's about. Don Quixote, the novel, is very much about a man who slowly drowns himself in his own fantasy, ascribing most things he interacts with to his own fantastical, almost romantic, ideal. He views the world as a fantasy novel while everyone else is very much grounded in reality and, for the most part, just doesn't put up with this guy that probably needs a mental health professional.
In this loose game series, the City isn't a happy place and is full of people very much aware of that reality, either having the means to deal with the horror of everyday or accepting that their time is probably very limited and they are just lucky to have lived this long in the first place. Having a character that is not only happy, but looking forward to the next day in the City is very jarring to say the least. Other characters would either probably treat her how others treated her novel counterpart, become jealous of her take on life, or be completely freaked out by the person who accepts their reality and what that person is capable of.
Heck, if I was a resident of the city and met such a person, I'd be terrified of them, wondering how far gone they were or wonder what they knew that I didn't. Either way its probably better to stay away from such a person (pragmatically at least, because the possibility is low that they are in their right mind and even lower that could actually mean good things if I were to form a connection with such a person).

another thing about don, she mentions stars in her base id on home screen, which might? relate to star dante is observing (she says something like 'can you see the stars too?'), and those are related to singularities, so we might also get lore on that? like OG bloodfiend would be not just a distortion, but related to 'starseekers' in outskirts, like K corp singularity? ofc its just based on possibly throwaway line, but last time this happened was fairytale in K corp nest.
