I would like to ask you. Do you think that the rifles lr22,.223,308........ are more popular than shotgun in sport shooting , hunting and general in NZ? Thank.
Yes for sure. Duck shooting with a shot gun is very popular but it has a season where as there are no seasons here or limits for hunting deer, pig, tahr, wallaby, goats, chamois
😎🤗saludos nz desde chile magnificos disparos por lo dificil que es disparar en terrenos montañosos con quebradas abruptas que estan a merced de las corrientes ascendentes y descendentes felicitaciones 👏👏👏
Yes as below.. they do expand at lower velocity than the eldx and I do most of my hunting at over 300m due to the terrain and how many animals I take to control the numbers. The eldx are also harder to get here. You do however have to use the ELDm correctly for best results. If below 160gr let's say. Best to avoid hard targets if your pushing them at an impact velocity of over 2800. You can get surface blow up. In these cases like a boars shield.. aim for lung.. not the shoulder.
We go get as much as we can carry but we do a pot for population control too. Here in nz there are no natural predators so numbers quickly get out of hand
2 things gents. 1) Dont call it '' beautiful shot placement '' if you shoot for the shoulder blade and you want some '' nice meat ''.. You are waisting more meat then you gaining. Believe me.. I know from experience just this weekend. 2) Why would you go and hunt in the mountains? Who collects the goats thats pre tenderized after that fall down a hill??
Here in NZ we are lucky to have a huge amount of game to hunt and its all invasive species with no natural predators. This means they need control so we can aim for the shoulder which I find to be the fastest knock down and clean kill which I prioritize over meat wastage. This block needs about 1000 animals taken from it just to keep pace with feral goat, pig and deer breeding so not all animals are collected. Sadly this the reality here. Our government spends millions each year poisoning and culling from helicopters and not one of those is used. We try to use as much as we can carry but losing the odd shoulder meat to a quick kill is OK in my book. Hope this helps understand our choices
@@ChasetheWildNZ Dont get me wrong. Im not against it.. I myself did a should shot yesterday on a Gemsbok.. (Im from South Africa) but i waisted both of the shoulder blade meat. (300wm - 180gr) shot right through the blades.. Made one hell of a bloody meas.. So my question was more aiming on the quality of meat with a shoulder shot then the actual shot.. Ill go check the video out!!
After seeing you do this to these majestic animals... how would you like to be hunted by a higher animal who can actually think. Someday it will happen, and you will find out what it looks like when your heads are put above someone's fireplace mantel. It will serve you right, because you will have earned your place.
This is NEEDED control of invasive species in our country. We have no natural predators and many introduced species causing huge damage to nature plants and habitat for native animals. If it isn't done by hunters, then the government poisons and kills them with helicopters etc. At least hunters try to use what they can carry to feed their families and friends
Awesome work team 👍
😊I love what yah do Ollie that curry okay looked Amazing shot Bro

I loved the super slow motion! Excellent shooting and filming!

Quite satisfying to see good result from your judgements of wind etc
Much appreciated. A clean kill is well worth the time, effort and practice.
Hi, Great vid! thanks for sharing. Do you use FFP or SFP Element Optics scopes? Cheers
Thanks mate. I mostly use a FFP one as i use the rifles in ELR and some PRS type competitions.
Hi mate love the rem mag what stock do you have on the Remington 700 looks like a nice gun stock
It's an amazing stock! Carbon and exceptionally well made. @precisionplatforms
Nz made
Are the ELD-M’s your go to projectile choice? Do you prefer them over the ELD-X? If so why….
They expand at lower velocity and more violently, leaving a bigger wound channel than the eld-x

Impressive!
Nice shooting boys
If some of those weren’t dead by the shot they would be by the fall.
Haha yes indeed. Steep country for sure
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What caliber?
Mostly 7mm rem mag or 6.5 creedmoor. All using the Hornady eldms or eldxs
Need to introduce snow leopards.
Haha yes they wouldn't go hungry!!!
is this hunt? where is meat?

@@ChasetheWildNZ fair enough!! Shoulder it is then
@lehanlynch checkout my vid on long range shot placement and you'll see some examples of why I aim for shoulder

@@lehanlynch yeah it does ruin the shoulder meat for sure.
