Just watched for the first time. All the crank baits. I can't afford as many as you showed. I could only pick out the top 3 in your lineup to buy. I don't ever grade your videos but this one I have a hard time with. It just relates to affordability. Thats all.
KVD said he’s never had a Berkley Cross Lock fail and I’ve had plenty fail. I won’t ever use them again. He must replace them often. It’s not that they come undone, they break.
I wonder about rattles in crankbaits during winter? I heard they weren’t good to use in winter. But the berkley cranks you mentioned come with a tungsten knocker, so hmmm?
Love it! Good info! I have very poor eyesight. So I avoid having to repeatedly tie if I can get away with it. Everyone says don’t use a clip!! I’m gonna get me some. What do I have to loose besides 15min and a lot of cussing? 😂
As a kid, those and spinners were all I used, with my little spincaster reel, I just had to keep cranking without knowing how to do anything. The bait would come out slow enough to work.
Great video, flat sides flat out catch em. I'm honestly surprised the megabass ones are $20, I figured more. I've got a couple of PH custom lures flat sides, those run $25 a pop. Great baits though, check em out sometime. Phil Hunt is a great dude
Best advice EVER! I listened to one of your OG videos years ago about clips and crankbaits! Caught giants with them. Don't listen to RUclipsrs that bad mouth them. Buy quality ones they work! Balzz is the MAN!
I fish a highly pressured lake and I’ve done some serious damage on that MegaBass Sonic Side. I catch fish on it all year long but it really shines from fall up through the spawn and smallies will destroy it!
What I find interesting about crankbait fishing, is that there are so many fishermen still cranking with fluorocarbon, when David Fritz exclusively cranks with braids for a lot of good reasons. I found it once you tried it's hard to go back to Floral carbon. Oh well just the thought. Oh by the way I think there's one crankbait that you did leave out and that's the megabass flap slap.
I would highly recommend for spring and summer look into the River2Sea biggie poppa. I have multiple double digits on those. But flat sided cranks kill it in cold water.
In my experience anything below 40 is kind of the breaking point but that dt6 or dt8 bouncing off of rocks super slow can be a grind but catch them bigs in the lower 40s
You lack the big ego and narcissism of you tube Mikey , I don't subscribe to very many because of it but you come across as sincere and genuine so I'm on board.... Bog is bad ass too
Picked up the cheapy Bass Pro Crankin' rod and Johnny Morris baitcaster this summer as my first dedicated crankin' rod. I think it cost me $20 or so after using my points but even at full price it's a cheap rig. Very happy with the setup.
Yes sir! Don't have to spend a ton to get a good crankbait rod! Have a couple of the Bass Pro Crankin' Sticks and a Lews Hack Attack crankbait rod. Have caught a lot of fish on them!
I have some ko blanks of that megabass crank and its got 98% of the same action. Saved me a ton of money lol. I dont fish megabass lures because honestly they are over priced. The blanks and paint dont cost that much lol they are making a killing off those lures in profit. Its marked up 5 times at least the cost to make those lures lol.
Have you ever tried the bagley flatside? I never hear anyone mention that one, but my local tackle shop seams to carry more of those than anything else and they work great once they're in the water they just don't cast the best being as they're made outta balsa wood.
Hey man, just one more you need to add to your collection, the RK55, the rock crawler, I live in North East Tennessee and our 2 biggest lakes here are pretty clear. We fished a little derby on Jan.1 on South Holston lake and believe it or not the water temp was 50.5, couldn't believe it. But the water is very clear, I mean we had a 10 to 15 mph winds and dark clouds all day and we caught right at 14 lbs, we lost a couple that would have helped, it took 21 and change for 1st, 19 and change for 2nd and 3rd and 4th was both 17 and change. We had I think between 40 and 50 boats. But the fish were shallow, so maybe give them a try, they sure made a believer out of me! Guess they took the place of the old wiggle wart. Thanks for sharing, stay safe out there on and off the water. Semper Fi from an old Marine
Hey Mikey, great stuff one thing that I had and I have done for a long time when it comes to crank Bates and top waters. I remove the split ring and use just that clip on the Bait nose. This especially works great if you’re throwing wake baits. Just that little extra weight will keep the bait from running true. Hope your holiday was safe.
Only wide wobble I like to throw in the winter is the wiggle Wart or Rock Crawler. Otherwise, I like the flat side cranks especially balsa. Check out Black Label Balsa. Great video. 👍
Another awesome video! I realize I'm an old guy but we used to kill with the Bomber Model As and the slimmer Fat-Free Shads on the California Delta. The Fat Free Shad is a skinnier crankbait, but now nobody even talks about them. Weird. Anyway, thanks again for bringing us along.
dang it Mikey, I’ve got too many rods, but after hearing go on about the HDIII rod and reading all the TW reviews, i think I may have to get the 7’3” for cranking. 😂
Your tips have caught me so many fish I have one for you lurenet offering limited time custom painted Rogue got 2 sets bro these are killer 8 bucks a pop for custom , get outahere as always thanks
Great instructional video. I know you were using the round side down here in Florida because that’s what we all use. Bought a few flat side baits on the advice of Bernie Schultz. Would you be using them here in FLORIDA? Been missing some of your videos. Not sure why the algorithm isn’t bringing no them to me. I’m still subscribed. Tight lines
Lol probably there’s gonna be a lot of lost fish coming at ya lol That fritts side is money Dave gave me one years ago before they hit the market I’ve caught some hammers on it Got a box full of em now
⚡ LIPLESS ⚡
What size clip do you use
Well done. Thanks!
Thanks for the tips...
Solid Points!!!
The jackal bling 55 is a money flat side as well
Kentucky Blue in the frittside is money.
nice thanks for info
Love the fritz!
What do you like for a budget ChatterBait rod? Need some help searching, thank you 👍🏼
What size clips you recommend? 26lb 33lb 60lb?
What size clip are you using?

What's the size of that owner cranking clip?
👀👀🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🎣🎣🎣🎣🎉
You should have a DOG CAM. on your dog when you goes fishing with you.
I tried that a few years ago I should get that thing back out
Speed cranking in the winter 😈
Replace the clip on the Mini
Max with those clips
Great info man, thanks.
KVD said he’s never had a Berkley Cross Lock fail and I’ve had plenty fail. I won’t ever use them again. He must replace them often. It’s not that they come undone, they break.

Do you put them snap swivels on all the time or just in certain situations?
Hey Bog!
Like your red pjs.
So you talk about colors,so what's the most important color on a crankbait?
Anybody remember the Balsa Blitz?
I use Cross locks pretty much the same and it lets the Bait move freely.
Love the Fritz side. You tried the money badger?
A little but not much yet had a buddy of mine tell me he smashes them on it. Gonna run it on some bluffs and rock in place of the dt 8 a bit
Love ghost shad style baits. 🤙
Good one Balzz
Definitely gonna have to try that snap, makes good sense
Been using those for ever. 30 plus years. Those are great.
Frittside, my confident bait year around. Great video!
Mikey needs his own show who agrees with me
Saturday morning right after cartoons love this guy real deal
This is his own show. Traditional media is dying off.
Bog needs his own show.
Why not braid
As a kid, those and spinners were all I used, with my little spincaster reel, I just had to keep cranking without knowing how to do anything. The bait would come out slow enough to work.
What gloves are those ? They’re sick dude and look warm
Pajama dog
Thanks Mikey for yet another great video.
Great video, flat sides flat out catch em. I'm honestly surprised the megabass ones are $20, I figured more. I've got a couple of PH custom lures flat sides, those run $25 a pop. Great baits though, check em out sometime. Phil Hunt is a great dude
Would it mess with anything if you take off the split ring all together and just use a quick clip?
What size clips do you use for the crankbait I seen another video where you had the clips
I run the 60lbs it's not really for the weight test but they are a little bit bigger so they're easy to work with your fingers
Best advice EVER! I listened to one of your OG videos years ago about clips and crankbaits! Caught giants with them. Don't listen to RUclipsrs that bad mouth them. Buy quality ones they work! Balzz is the MAN!
I like to throw the Fritz side on a spinning setup because it doesn't cast well.
You made me use clips a few years back. I just grab some from the salt water sections at tackle shops. You saved me a lot of time as a co angler
Nice Job

+1 im experimenting with braid now, im still on fence, but ive caught em....you can feel everything.
Clips attached to the split ring is a noob move. Glad to see Bog just chillin with the unicorn hoodie
I would highly recommend for spring and summer look into the River2Sea biggie poppa. I have multiple double digits on those. But flat sided cranks kill it in cold water.
What degree water Temps will these baits work in? Our Temps currently are upper 30's to 40 degrees Fahrenheit
In my experience anything below 40 is kind of the breaking point but that dt6 or dt8 bouncing off of rocks super slow can be a grind but catch them bigs in the lower 40s

Have been using clips like those for years and definitely won’t throw hard baits without them.
I also so saw David Fritz say he throws his cranks on braid no straight braid with no leader all the time regardless of watercolor
Otts dt6 is money for me in Michigan up until the ice shuts it down.
Happy New Year's, you and bog

Removed all my split rings back in the 90's and use Norman speed clips on cranks and top water hard baits.
No failure from a speed clip yet.

Mikey, Try a Lahr Jensen Speed Trap. I think you’ll like it.
I am surprised you left out what I consider one of the best flat side baits...the Spro Little John. Another great video.
I got some sonic side blanks extremely cheap I can send you to try sir. Send me what color you want and I’ll hook you up.
Hate winter fishing. But thanks for the tips! Going to have to learn to fish winter time for sure
I tried to tell you earlier but you didn’t listen
Dude, yeah I’ve lost like a dozen of those mega bass sonic sides on that clip. 😎🤣 Where did you say I could get those replacement CB’s bro….
Dude fuck those snaps
7'3 " jerkbait rod, green leaves on the trees talking about winter cranking? What the heck is going on .
as many of the places I see you on here i am suprised I have not run into yet in all my spots!! 🤣 As always, freaking awesome content!!
Your awesome Mikey, your attention to detail is amazing, thank you Mikey and Mr.Bog ❤️❤️

Geeze 19 bucks for a sqaurebill.
Mikey, I've heard alot of comments about the Bill Lewis ATV square bill, is that more of a summer bait?
Excellent presentation. I noticed that you placed lead dots on some of your lures. Do you attach the dots to get deeper depths on your crank baits?
Great video Mikey! Have you done a review lately on your ghost now that you’ve had it several years? Would be curious how you’re liking it.
Only wide wobble I like to throw in the winter is the wiggle Wart or Rock Crawler. Otherwise, I like the flat side cranks especially balsa. Check out Black Label Balsa. Great video. 👍

Man stop putting out the juice broski 😆
I thought you said hook your boat up with a clip
I lost my boat
You owe me a boat
🤣 I may have made a huge mistake
Lol probably there’s gonna be a lot of lost fish coming at ya lol
That fritts side is money Dave gave me one years ago before they hit the market I’ve caught some hammers on it
Got a box full of em now
