- In this video, John G Adams tears out his Medium Aquascape Rippled Urn Fountain and replaces it with a medium scalloped urn fountain. He then installs a bunch of COLOR CHANGING LIGHTS to make it crazy cool ;) He teaches you a few tricks he learned about concealing lights and getting better effects from them, and at the end there is NEARLY 2 MINUTES OF AMAZING AFTER footage of the fountain, and all of the beautiful lighting effects created. Enjoy the show!!

Such a good teacher...
AWESOME JOB John G! Man - now you are going to make me go harvest a LOT of cedar roots!!!
I love the Northern Lights!!!
I have that going on in the guest bedroom - but with white.
Have an AWESOME day!!!
How are things going for you guys out there? You staying busy this Covid season?
Modern Design Aquascaping Inc. - yessir! All is well! We are very steady! Got one pretty cool custom “basalt-like” one in this past weekend and have two fountainscape projects for this week.
I hope that y’all are doing great!
Can attest to the awesome lighting in his guest room! Slept like a baby! Of course 14 hour days helped 😉
Wow that’s awesome! Absolutely love it!!!❤😊
Thank you! Cheers!
I wasn’t sure between the slate urn or scalloped urn but you’re video has made my mind up....it’s def the scalloped urn
Thanks John G 👍
Sweet, I think i wanna make one out of stone now!
That log light is a great idea. Can't believe you haven't made plastic molds to sell
I know, I’m sure someone will like Aquascapes. Maybe they’ll send me a free carton of them😎😎
Awesome mate, love it, never been a fan of the scalloped urns...till now.
Love that light idea into driftwood
Me too-never a fan. Night time its sweet though. Ill put stone in next👍
@@KoiAddiction I really like the colour of the unit it pops with your door and against the foliage you have around the base, I guess it does work in certain situations 👍👍
Fab-U-Lous! I love this video. Not only did you achieve some cool lighting effects, your energy was great. You made me laugh out loud literally and I smiled all the way through watching you install it all. The effects you got and the advice you gave us - awesome.
Glad you liked, I have missed seeing your comments in here!

The effects are so cool!
And it was sooo fun! Thanks for watching👍🏻
@@KoiAddiction when are you coming to Israel so we can install these together?
Baruch David Greenman dont tease, Im the guy who actually shows up😂
All joking aside, you set those up with a basin or aquablocks? You install autofills?
Beautiful video, beautiful install! Sweet job!
I love you guys! I hope your day ends positively-no matter what the outcome remember to bring your best self!
Great Video John. Learned several things about lighting. Thank You for your time on the phone the other day.
My pleasure, hope to speak with you again soon!
Great work - even better upgrades. That was some kickass footage w/ the many different color combinations! Appreciate the hard work put into this as well as your generosity w/ the knowledge/tips shared here. Thanks man! 👌 👍
No worries. Glad you enjoyed it😎
Great video!
Thanks, and thanks for watching!
great ideas
Thanks for watching! How about the cedar root? It looks like sparks when the water splashes into the cup at night😎
I like your style man!
Thanks buddy🙂
awesome video
Fun, Once again. Planning to rip all that out in 2 months and start a pond out there!
Another amazing video. In the process of installing 2 of these in my back yard. Can you still use the optional fire after adding lights in the top? Thanks
I would make sure you have the fire ring so you can get the lights in and make sure they are out of the way! Once you do it-let me know, send some feedback and I will share with the world!!
Can’t believe you weren’t picked for Pond Stars ⭐️
Lol yea I wasn’t, but I’m a “Pond Star” in my own heart!
I have been watching my factory set up just flow slowly over the top for a year now . I'm ready to bump it up! What's the pump size and plumbing size. Factory is lame. I'm will to cut holes now. Love your work!!
We have Basic Fountain Installation with enhancements that shows that work! 1 1’2” plumbing with a 2000 GPH aquasurge pump and a 2” bulkhead fitting in the top was the ticket. Check out the video:)
So ive been through all three videos now on the urn. Can you expand on which lighting components were actually needed to complete this install. I see two 4 watt lights in the top of the urn, and then there are four lights around the base correct? To get 2 different colors simulatnously, im guessing you needed 2 smart hubs. Was the 25 foot extension needed? Im trying to gather a list of supplies to complete this whole project. The other upgrade for me would be a smart pump with adjustable flow so it can be turned up/down from the smart phone and adjust the light colors. Any help or tips appreciated!! thanks! this is a VERY eye catching water feature. I LOVE it!
Yes, there was 2 lights in the top of the urn, a 4 watt (connected to the same hub as the bottom 5 @ 2 watt lights) and an 8 watt light connected to it's own hub so I could turn "Northern Lights" on-off-up-down without changing the rest. I used a 25' extension with a six way splitter for the connections and ran the 8 watt separately straight to the hub. Also needed a transformer to power the whole deal. I did use the hub with smart phone app!
@@KoiAddiction thank you. I've been watching A LOT of these water feature you tube videos....LOL... in hopes of doing one or two at our own yard. The aquascape products look to be an "all in one" type product, and then add on the upgrades like you did. I really like the color changing lights. and Amped up Urn! OH, and I love the accent lighting you have in the living room along the ceiling btw! you have a great eye for lighting IMO. Thanks for all the assistance! Im subscribed now, so looking forward to more content
did you end up using two 4.5 in the top?
Yeppers
Dang man that’s beautiful what size hole saw did u use for the 2 inch bulkhead and lights on top of the urn
3” hole saw should work for both👍🏻
Size pump on the fountain?
2000 aquasurge with low suction intake👍
do you think i need a color changing light on top of the urn or stay with just white. Dont want it to look like the color palette vomited on my urn,, if you know what I mean.
Watch my video with color changing lights on the fountain, see if you like it!
SCALLOPED URN FOUNTAIN WITH Color Changing Lights
That's so badass. I'm wanting that done now. What's the total parts/labor cost? Sign me up 👍
I didn’t price it out exactly BUT- I would stick with the stone or rippled fountain (had finish issues with the scalloped urn). I would guess that the whole feature would be 11-12K installed😀
@@KoiAddiction
The urn is just under $500 and the pump + reservoir is around $500 more. Lights are maybe $300? So labor is $10K? (Not talking about rocks or anything else around it).
Hi John, so tempting to do one in my garden, I live in UK do you know any retailers who sell this large urn in UK? I have tried few garden centres and Amazone but no luck.
Mark (MJ) Wilson- thepond advisor (anypond.com) he should have 1 for ya😎
@@KoiAddiction Thanks mark
If you ever get over to the Spencer TN area (not around the corner from you, I know), drop me a message if you have the time and or inclination to check out my property. I will be putting in a pond and I hope to have you do it. It's just a matter of when. My question(s) are this:
Can you even do it on our property based on the potential rock under the soil.
Do you think it would be better to put the pond in before the house or vice-versa?
Yes we can do it. We built a pond over a solid rock once! House first and then pond. We have a super slick sales process so when you get close, Ill send you a video that starts it all off with a phone call! Easy Peasey😎
Where do you buy that urn.
Just got this video in this morning's feed, and I question the effect of upsizing the plumbing. Do you get any birds willing to fly into that for a drink? It does make the water more visible during the day, but the stock equipment with fountain lights also works well at night. ruclips.net/video/qVlwFnrKnHo/видео.html
Yes- it is a HUGE difference AND the birds loved it! Its gone now- there is a swim pond in that spot ;)
