I LOVE THIS, no words can express how happy I am to finally see vehicles, I have been through this game for a long time and I am so excited for when helicopters and planes get added. Also, if you haven't planned to do this or haven't done this yet, you should have bodies stay in vehicles if they die while driving or in the passenger seat, wouldn't make too much sense if they are in an open back vehicle but if it's enclosed then the body should stay, and it would be cool, maybe once you've got hand modles im vehicles, or even some time after, to have an animation of pulling the body out so your character can get in. Would add an ounce of realism, and would be kind of fun to be in a tense situation, shoot the driver of a vehicle driving at you, hop in after chucking his body, and keep trucking on in their vehicle. I think it would be so cool, maybe even add a special animation when you drag a teammate out where you carefully put them down and then move on, as you care, but not enough to get shot. Anyways, I can't wait to see see the new update when it is out, and try out everything it has in store!
Would have been implemented 5 years ago if Microprose didn't immediately cut all support for their own game 😅 but we're happy to have finished it in the end anyways. Much more to come.

We had a prototype for these vehicles in the game we were hired to make for them, but then that publisher decided to cut funding because they signed probably 20x more projects that they couldn't financially support... so they started laying off developers and cutting projects so that they could continue offering signing bonuses to new projects that they knew they also couldn't support. After that experience, we decided to cut ties with that publisher and continue developing the game ourselves. If we still had the support that the publisher promised us, we probably would have had all this and more finished many years ago. However, after going solo we just had to prioritize features that were critical (like Steam workshop support) and move more slowly... but more efficiently. However, despite that... we're now getting close to finishing all of the original features we originally had planned for OHD. If we want to do something right, then we have to just do it ourselves.
I am quite impressed right now because previously we would see small progressive improvements to some parts of the game without any of them feeling too impactful or "game changing" but recently it is like every single element/feature got, or is about the get, massive refinements and the quality, not just of some parts but overall, has reached a whole new level much closer or even better than some commercial (for profit) projects out there. This speaks to the resilience and perseverance of the whole OHD team or like my dad would love to say: "More professionals than the pros" 👏🎖
I know this might be a weird suggestion but can you guys add like a 3rd person toggle for vehicles only like Arma, so people can drive vehicles in 3rd person and also tank etc.
No not yet, we're waiting to add that functionality until tanks/helicopters are added to the game so that way we can update the AI controller all at once to work with all vehicles. If we did it now, then we'd basically have to scrap our work and do it all over again after adding in the different vehicle types (like tanks/helicopters) so since we're a free game with limited resources, we want to wait and do it all at the same time so we can be more efficient about their driving/gunning implementation.
Plssssss add a sound when we run out of ammo, i have been begging you guys for two years, how many times do I have to die because of this, there is not a single sound on any gun for that, and that is unacceptable for any game...
Hey you should make tanks like war thunder instead of the hit point system like that gay game called squad. You know it should be like penetration and amor values. And the vech only should blow up once ammunition blows up. Becuase in real life you can drive by a vech that looks operational but the vech is dead.
We started development before Squad and Squad ripped off everything that makes it what it is from Project Reality and Battlefield. Hell Let Loose is also almost exactly like Squad, because they got all their design decisions from the same sources. Hell... I never even got paid for the work I did for the Squad team years ago, so if they want to start throwing around lawsuits shit is going to get messy very fast. I guarantee it.
