As an Illinois native. This zoo was my childhood. I’ve gone over 5 times and really enjoyed it. Went once with family and the other 4 times were for in school, after school, and summer school programs. Love it!
@@RobbZippI apologize that happened. I’ve only gone as child so I never knew that actual cost. You brought up a lot of points about paying and then not having access to the full zoo. I never knew that so I was shocked and am kind of disappointed that is the type of experience you go to have.
This is a Zoo you have to get the membership for! They do give you coupons to see the attractions for free if a member. So you end up not paying those attraction membership fees unless you go too many times and run out of coupons. I recommend coming back during spring or summer time, with someone who has a membership so you can really enjoy the place.
Well, I live in Houston and have a membership here. I travel all over the country and most zoos have a reciprocal program where I can get in free, or half off. Brookfield does not accept that. They seem greedy.
Honestly, as you said, this is a 'private' zoo that, yes, you have to pay more for the privilege. Yes, you have to pay for anything extra, like anywhere else. I can't think of anywhere that the extras are free. I've always thought that this zoo was nicer than Lincoln Park Zoo. When I was a kid, I used to make sure I had collected all of them before I left.
Too bad that it was $29 to get in then all the things cost extra. Beautiful nature settings though and the carousel was pretty. Hope you enjoyed your day
Very nice carousel, looks like the one here in San Diego at Balboa park.30.00 bucks is a bit steep.but if it's private they need to feed the animals .just look at it as you helped the animals

I understand. It’s nice to support your local zoo. As a visitor, I didn’t enjoy being nickled and dimed.

@@BeWithTamia it’s all ok! I have a playlist of all of the zoos and aquariums on my channel! I hope you check it out and see what other zoos are like!

@@RobbZipp That cool you get in zoos free or half off! I agree Brookfield Zoo is greedy! Wish we had that kind of zoo membership here in Chicago
@@silverphantomLX Lincoln Park Zoo is free and just as good! I had a seagull poop on me there, though. hahahah
I used to live in Chicago and have been there several times.
Cool 😎

I travel all over and have never had this kind of zoo experience. It simply wasn’t worth it, to me.
Thanks for your honest take. Sorry you didn't love your experience there.
It wasn’t a bad place. Just more expensive than I felt like.
OK... I figured out how to log back into my RUclips. NICE ZOO, DUDE!
Thanks Russell! I hope all is well!!!!

It was nice to walk around and enjoy nature. I just won’t go back there again.
Didn't know you were in Chicago. We live 15 minutes from the Brookfield Zoo.
That’s cool. I’ll be back on Sunday night. Want to join me? Email me!
I’m going to Houston Friday to stay the night with my aunt and going to Bucees and going shopping Saturday for my 22nd birthday

The land is owned by the forest preserve. Not really a private zoo
@@AB-sx9vu they kept telling me it was private, that’s why it was so expensive.
Chicago Style Pizza
I didn’t eat any this time. I do enjoy it, though.

It’s managed by the Chicago Zoological Society and owned by the Illinois forest preserve. 🤦♂️ do research before you just talk🤦♂️ lazy
Lame excuses for their greed. Do your research about why I was disappointed by looking at my other zoo videos.
yeah your being kinda weird about it
imo
