I completely agree with Tim that the view along the Big Sur coastline is jaw dropping . I drove many times from Carmen By The Sea to Morro Bay all along the coast and still can not get enough of it .
Thank you for making me feel like I’ve done nothing in life and have lived under a rock. I just thought the road to Hana in Maui was a beautiful ride which I’ve done several times but this was right there with it. If your ever in Maui I suggest you take the road to Hana.
Rainbow Wahine here- yes, the road to Heavenly Hana is magnificent! I too have driven this beautiful road! Going to grad school in Manoa was the best decision!
WOW dream job, to be so elusive to real life day to day around the world and vlog like there is nothing to worry about keeps us all on the edge of our seat hoping for our lives to return to some kind of normal :)
Persist. This roadtrip (SFO - LA) is bucket list, must do. Have done it twice. 2017, Hwy 1 was closed due to the landslides. Had to bypass inland, coming out short of San Simeon. Great 1/2 way point to see the sealion colony. That trip was just my son and I. The next year, my wife and daughter joined us around the same period (early September). Superb! BTW, we had to come from Australia.
The private campgrounds in San Juan Islands in Washington were also charging $100 a night over the summer and it was still impossible to find any availability. Crazy times. By the way, loved seeing the doggie playing with the dirty tennis ball at the campsite; that’s exactly what our dog does!
Hey Guys! I have been using your trips to plan my Mexico escape (post Vaccine) this year. You can't begin to know what you missed in Monterey/Big Sur and I hope you get to come back after awhile to do some of the best hiking(Big Sur) and diving (Monterey). I grew up there and even after living in Central Oregon for 30 yrs would go back every year to have adventures. AND THANK GOD FOR THAT ONE HOLD OUT RANCHER!!! Can you imagine that area after development!!! I hope never....or at least in my lifetime.
Tim I think your voice is just so nice!!!.....then I found the channel of "Two travelers in Mexico" and it happens that Mark has the same exact voice that you have....I thought Mark was your dad for a second.....
I took my 7yr old daughter camping there in 1991 in my camping van. Was $30/night back then. We live in Santa Cruz so it didn’t take long to get there. My family loves it..
"we don't know our bridges" possibly the BEST RUclips quote EVER!!! I have EXACTLY the same system as you guys (except different cameras) I just want a vlog camera that will get the story fast!!!! you can't mess about with settings as the moment is gone! where as you have much more time to get the pretty B-roll and get the setting right! One day you guys will get an awesome sponsor! ;-)
Recently found you guys and am enjoying seeing the outdoors through your videos! Thankyou so much for sharing 😁 after what feels like a forever lockdown in the UK, your videos are super refreshing ❤️
Yay 3rd here. I am watching you both at Big Sur. You guys got such amazing views. I was there two months ago but was just had a quick stop. We love to drive. And it was so windy. We had DJI Mini 1, not really good for wind at all. Wow, hopefully the fire 🔥 won’t be too bad!! Stay save and have a great trip back to your next destination! We love you 😍
I love your vlogs so much! They inspired me to get out to see the world and document my journey as I go. Where can I get that schnazzy Tripped hat?? I’ve only come across your bags but I’m also bad at looking for stuff so I could have missed it.
Wow - can’t believe what Fernwood charged! We were there several years ago - had a spot right on the river and spent the first day in the river. We had a weird heat wave and it was 90 degrees! Our old Lab was wet the entire time we were there... I think we paid $30 or $40.
Also, it's obvious you guys like wine... so you should make plans next time to visit our Livermore wine valley. If you want info on the best places from a local, let me know. I've worked at several here and I can't rave enough about the wonderful varietals. My favorite is Sangiovese.
Big Sur is an amazing place. I've visited the US 2 times and was lucky enough to be able to drive all the way from LA to San Francisco the first time. But the 2nd time a big part of Highway 1 was closed due landslides so I could not visit McWay Falls :-( anyways, I new subscriber here. I love your videos, through them I relive my own trips. Thank you guys, you rock! Keep up the good work and enjoy your trip! Love from a Hungarian guy who lives in Scotland haha
When did you guys do down? with the road closed? I just took the PCH north from Morro Bay and currently in Moss Landing; started on the 6th, got up here on the 11th (November, for later viewers). I was hoping to take three weeks, but there wasn't enough places I could pull over for the night. Got up here two weeks before Thanksgiving....oops. I didn't get to stop at the Bridge because there were already too many cars parked around it.... Spent most of today getting footage copied over and setup (while installing new curtains and washing dishes), tomorrow I begin editing my too short of a trip. Sadly, I don't have a drone, so it won't be quite as epic as your video. Glad you didn't lose your camera!! That's why I won't put it on the outside...
Thank you for mentioning the fire in the video, I am a local of Carmel Valley and it was very sad to see Big Sur burn again :( I think Fernwood is usually cheaper but because of COVID and the fires lots of places raised prices because they want to keep tourists out
Hi I know you're in Greece 🇬🇷, now you thought it was a fires. What happened was that the road had closed due a 100 yard portion had fallen into Ocean due to a rain storm. 🌧 it was opened in March 2021. I was able to actually go to McWay Falls have standard footage and 360VR interactive footage. I need to get a Mavic Pro 2S. The paper maps are useful since there is no internet service...for GPS... Yeah, I know all about the data usage. On the 360VR camera it continously records though it automatically splices the footage in to 8 minute files. Each are 72 GB to 79 GB and upload time to RUclips is between 3.5 to 5 days. Thanks for sharing great drone footage, that was awesome how it followed the van. Great Adventure ⛰🏞⛰🙋👌🏝⚓⛵🏖
Maybe not with this series... some of these episodes are pretty long like 20-40 minutes, so I think it might be too much! Maybe I could figure out how to segment different locations by region

And be sure to do the same in Ojai, I can tell you some good places to go there.....if you like to dance, check and see if the santa barbara dance away is still going....oh, there is a point there where whales are just 50 feet from shore. Hi, Love you guys! I have a question about the camera. When you take pictures while driving, how is the quality? I am taking my daughter to Disney next year and I want to be able to capture the fireworks.
Good catch! The RX100 is sitting in a drawer right now until we prove to ourselves we don’t need it. It was an absolute beast but the ZV1 is just so much easier to use. I’m sure the RX is better for people who demand higher level functionality, but we wanted the easiest possible camera to operate.
@@timandfin the RX100 will give you a slightly better quality picture. Also, you can't beat that 200mm zoom! I use it for our vlogs all the time. By the way, we've ventured over to the UK. I have been asking this question to different You Tubers out there. What do you think about the $1,000.00 fine put on Kara and Nate, for sharing their travels in US National Parks? Nate is no longer allowed to use drone footage in his posts, if he does not pass the national test for use of drones. Thank you. I really don't understand this ruling. I enjoy travelling with all of you who can and share the beauties of our country. I am disabled and this is my only way to see, thru your eyes, what I can never reach.
Sometimes I feel like fans asks so much of you vloggers. For some reason it seems like you need a vacation from your vacation. Didn't yal just buy a house? But just know that you have fans thats dont think you have to be on the go all the time. Hell id even watch you paint a picture a time or 2. Just sayin...but keep up the good work!☺️
Love your videos; especially the drone footage. Does Tim have his drone pilot's license? Are you aware of what is happening to RUclipsrs Kara and Nate and their issue with using a drone. Seems weird as I watch A LOT OF VIDEOS where Americans are using drones. Do they all really have a pilot's license????
