    I'm 72 now and wish I had heard all this 50 years ago my health would be so much different today. Because of Doctors like you I have changed so much in my diet as you discuss. At 72 I am on no prescription meds at all. All because of the diet change to Keto and Carnivore way of eating. God Bless you and other Doctors like you.

    If for some reason a person feels some guilt over being born into a world where life feeds on life, perhaps it would help to do as our ancestors did 100s of thousands of years ago and say a word of thanks or perform some rite of gratitude to the animal spirit. This is much more than any vegan I've ever met will do.

      The only question I have about this, is if replacing The Amazon (for instance) with fields of cattle is environmentally sustainable or not? Perhaps this comes back to how much we eat everyday. Listening to Dr Cywers made me realise less is more if it is the correct food type. So if everyone ate this way, maybe less land would be needed for farms to be filled with cattle or sheep etc.

      @@marilyngoldie5946Everyone is so caught up on how many forests are being felled for animal grazing BUT no one ever talks about how many acres and acres of trees were felled to plant grains, vegetables and fruits worldwide - AND the precious water needed to irrigate them for the sooo few nutrients they provide - all grains, fruit and vegetables are is energy whereas protein is a complete food when the animals are grazed AND we need only 2 small protein based meals (along with the fat that comes with the meat) daily to thrive compared to the massive quantities of vegetables, grains and fruit people eat to feel full.

    • @marilyngoldie5946

      @@frenchgrama Thank you for your civil response. I can use your information to counter vegan or vegetarian arguments against meat eaters. I am new to this and only found Dr Cywers a week ago. Cleaned out my pantry of most carb food. Next shop will be different. Again thanks for your comment.

    • @frenchgrama

      @@marilyngoldie5946 From a medical point of view long term vegans and vegetarians are malnourished- it’s next to impossible for them to eat enough food on a daily basis to provide the nutrition they would get from animal protein - in particular haem iron which is a necessary mineral, it’s used to make red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body and it also contributes to normal cognitive function and you can ONLY get it from animal protein. Long term vegans and vegetarians are constantly tired and because they are deprived of haem iron they really don’t have as good cognitive function as people who eat adequate amounts of protein. It’s impossible to get through to vegans and vegetarians about how important animal protein is because they are soooo irrational and refuse to even contemplate that they are malnourished because they can’t remember what it’s like to feel good and healthy… I wouldn’t waste my breath trying to convince them of anything. There is soooo much precious land and water being depleted and wasted to grow grains, vegetables and fruits than there is being used for grazing animals - it’s the vegans destroying the planet not the carnivores…. I’m very sad to say that it’s very political (and I’m very apolitical) and it’s all about the money…

    Omni-carnivore is the same what i would say i am... and i sometimes eat ever other day or once every three days.. im not even hungry ... and still i have 220 pounds (mostly muscles) 6,4" tall and just want to burn off my last few fat pounds on the belly...

    Thank you Dr Cywes! I had a long journey having been diagnosed as T2 prediabetic. Started on the usual meds (metformin, losartan, statin) then found the keto community on youtube. I've was having digestive issues and still couldn't understand what I was doing wrong. It was when I stumbled upon Dr Berry's video with you that opened my eyes to the carnivore diet. It definitely opened my eyes as it never dawned on me that there is no such thing as an essential carbohydrate for us humans. I have been carnivore for 2 weeks now and I must say after a few days of diarrhea my digestive issues that I used to have are gone now. I enjoy your videos and I find them to be an abundance of untapped knowledge that everyone needs to see for themselves. Thank you for your work and your passion. We need more doctors like you

    Dr. Ken Berry sent me from his channel and this is the first video I've watched.
    Dr. Cywes, hearing you speak of the egg blew my mind, cuz I look at them the same way. They're truly a magical vitamin powerhouse, simply because it's the base for creating another animal🐣
    I dumbed down my diet and came up with a catchy anagram, S.O.M.E., Sunshine, Organs, Meat, Eggs...or, M.O.E.S., cuz word association helps me and it gives my mind a fun little game to play as I work.
    I've been fairly successful, but sugar addiction is quite a fickle Mistress. I'm 42, down 55lbs and 8" in 8 months 👍 I'd be farther along, but I'm human.
    I look forward to watching your videos and learning how to finally get over this addiction, once and for all.

    To be honest I’ve been on a carnivore diet for years and when I added fat to everything I ended up gaining weight. When I started eating very lean just the protein I slimmed back down. I’d be careful adding all that fat. In the wild the animals we ate would have been lean and not enough organs or liver to be eaten on a daily basis same with eggs.

    You make complete sense and am a fan. However, would this diet work for an almost 19 year old male that is hugely underweight, has low cortisol issues, chronic fatigue, under-developed and had leukaemia when was a toddler. He’s always done lots of exercise before finished school and always excelled at them (very diverse) as was all round very fit but when he hit 14 the signs were showing. He’s been on the protocol for low cortisol and low growth but didn’t work (other doctors said it doesn’t work). His diet is good cos he’s no longer eats processed food as don’t go out. So I wonder if this diet would eventually fix some of the problems he’s experiencing?😊

    I have two kids, my daughter eats wonderfully. Fish, meat, eggs everyday for breakfast. 6 days out of 7 I cook simple, home cooked meals but my 6 year old is the total opposite. He spends almost half his time with his dad's family and they feed him so much rubbish, sweets, crisps and everything is processed, he asks for food and he gets it, ice lollies, cheap ramen noodles, processed freezer food like nuggets. He had a whole packet of mints the other day when I picked him up 'for the journey home' and they won't listen to me when I ask them not to. When he's at home the only 'real' food I get him to eat is beef,plain roast chicken and butter if it's on toast. Won't touch eggs, or cheese or anything fatty or creamy like real yoghurt. He asks for food constantly, and even gets shaky without his sugar fix it's awful, he gets really hyper too. Any good I do is undone when he goes to his dad/grandma's and I worry so much. As his mother i feel like I am failing him with his terrible diet. Any advice anyone?

    • @TerriblePerfection
      @TerriblePerfection 4 года назад +3

      Yes, as a parent I do, although you might not like it: Don't make food an issue with your son or his grandparents. You can model a healthy diet by what you eat and what you bring into the house, but that should be the extent of it, in my opinion. We can only control so much as parents, and sometimes our desire to control causes unintended and harmful consequences.
      Our two children are now grown, and one has been a vegan several times. I keep my mouth shut and we respect each other's food choices. I do find it interesting though that my daughter keeps going back to vegetarianism. She clearly needs the fat!
      Good luck with your son. Meals shouldn't be a chore, but rather a pleasure. And you want peace with his clueless grandparents.

      Remember each time you eat something, anything your blood sugar rises, so, if you're snacking and eating off and on all day your blood sugar is always going to be higher. Try to eat larger meals and one or two times a day. That's what it took for me. I've gone from 8.5 to 4.6. It can be done, you just have to find the right pattern of eating for you. Try different things, you'll find it.

    Thanks I needed this refresher. Been keto/low carb for 10 months & stalled at 40 lbs down. I dialed back the saturated fats & started snacking. Been a long time since I’ve had that leptin signal of satiety which makes fasting a breeze

      When that happens to me I dial back the amount of protein. For me if I eat too much it turns to sugar and then I lose the leptin signal. I stalled on Keto too around 30 pounds lost and I went with 6-8 oz portions of proteins, upped fat and went fasting 18 hours with 6 eating window and I was good again. I was not hungry and waking up not hungry and able to jump start my loss. Now I am down 55 pounds and down another 7.5 in the last month. Most people can't eat endless amounts of protein without it converting to some amount of sugar. That's not easy to do but for some it's very easy. You might dial back the protein and go back to more fat do less snacking and more fasting. See if that works.

    Omnivore keeps the peace. I’m the same for the most part. At work and home or with most family I eat just meat.
    But with certain people when I’m out I’ll get a cesaer salad without croutons with grilled chicken (and usually don’t eat all the salad) or at least throw a non starchy veggie on my plate.
    It keeps them happy to eat that and the restaurants I go to mostly are carb heavy so it’s the only thing that most restaurants have that I would even consider.
    ps. Today is my first day with black coffee (no cream). I would like to drop 10lbs ‘cause I’m at the high end of normal BMI
    If Dr Cwyes can do it so can I.
    I’m drinking from a cup with a lid, so I can’t see that it doesn’t look creamy.

    I’m a new subscriber and I have to say, I love your content. I’m just wondering if you could tell me if carnivore way of life is good for my long term epilepsy? I’ve been carnivore - with an emphasis on healthy animal fats, for 6 weeks now, and I feel very good within myself overall, and lost 30lb! The fat loss has stalled though.. I don’t know why, but I still feel amazing. Just wondering if it’s gonna be beneficial to my epilepsy in the long run. I’m never going back to sugar and carbs ever. Carnivore IS LIFE ❤️❤️ Bless up Dr Cywes xxx

    Dr. Cywes, there is an opinion that too much protein may damage your kidneys. Is it correct? Because the carnivore diet means lots of protein and fat. Thank you in advance!

      @@angiesrecipes Please understand. Your body needs a fuel source. If you consume high protein your body will convert it to glucose. You will become pre-diabetic Iguarantee. Carnivore will only work with a very high animal fat consumption. Your body must burn fat in the absence of carbs and must first learn how. You need to be keto.

    • @angiesrecipes
      @angiesrecipes 4 года назад +1

      @@scaramouche8244 NO. I do carnivore. And a ribeye is also too lean and salmon either. So I do get enough fat. Did keto before and lost almost all my hair because lack of protein. You should do more research and enjoy more protein too. Still, thank you so much for your input :-)) p.s Dr. also do carnivore.

      @@angiesrecipes If your hair fell out your body was obviously not ready for keto and really says a lot.. I have been keto for almost a decade and I guarantee if you keep true carnivore you will see pre diabetic numbers.Your fuel source is gluconeogenesis and you are losing muscle. Its easy to eat a lot of protein thats why you should know its not good. Sorry Angie not a hater.
