    Valerie Bealle, Metal Clay Artist and Instructor from Long Island, New York visited the Cool Tools studio to create a lovely butterfly pendant using silver metal clay and scratch foam. She finishes this piece with gold plating to add amazing detail. Please note: Because this project is created with EZ960 Sterling clay, the gold plating may result in a rich bronze/brass color.

    Great video. For those of us who have never seen it before, it would have been nice to show the finished back, so we could see what the hooks look like. Just saying.

    Thank you for the video. Is this piece kiln or torch fired?

      Hi Wendy, this piece is torch fired. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Connie!. This is so very beautiful!. Can you tell me how you did the outline detail in the gold?. Its a stunning look. I would love to try this, as well as a bumble bee ring with the gold and silver contrast. Also, how long did it take to torch fire, and what kind of PMC did you use. Hugs. Joanna.

      This piece was made with EZ960, which is a Sterling Silver clay, meaning it requires a kiln. If you were to use a torch fireable fine silver clay, the piece would require about 5 minutes of torch firing. Hope this helps!

    Do you NEED the cup warmer/heat source, or can you air dry over a day or two instead?

      @cooltoolsvideos  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Connie, yes, you can air dry the piece over a day or two. The cup warmer or dehydrator is just to speed up the process. Hope this helps!

      I found a cup warmer at Goodwill for $1 so keep an eye out if you thrift. ;)

    Great instructional video & lovely final project - thanks for sharing. But what the HECK is that constant, repetitive clunking sound in the 1st 12 minutes? Danged near lost my mind, LOL!
