Thank you😁 I was happy to capture them. The filming could have been better, but that is how it goes when you have to quickly get some footage on a cellphone😀I need to get more steady with it when I zoom it in. It really amplifies my movements when it's zoomed in. I thought I'd try to pair it with some music and give it a little narration to make it a little more interesting.
They are excellent at hiding. Once the scurry away, it is hard to see them when they've found a hiding spot. Yeah, that one particular rock, I often see them up there sunning themselves. It's a great spot for them.
Yeah, it's amazing that they survive. I guess they find a nice rock or big log to hide under and then hibernate. They make lots of noise on the ground when running on the leaves to get away and hide. Cool little guys to see on the trail😀
Oh yeah hahah, we have a lot of those little guys here. They love the sun 🌞 and they sure are super fast too! 🦎😎 This reminds me, i've got to find some photos that i have fpr years now and post it on IG. Like! 🦎👍🏻
They really are super fast! Like you say though, they love the sun. So I know when the sun is out to keep my eyes out for them. Yes, get your photos up on Instagram🦎🦎
Cool! I've never seen a lizard here yet. Snakes and turtles but never a lizard. I think there are a couple species of lizard found here on the big island but haven't really researched it lately.
We have the invasive European Wall Lizard which escaped (or let loose) from a reptile zoo. You can read a little bit about that here: www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/environment/plants-animals-and-ecosystems/invasive-species/alerts/european_wall_lizard_alert.pdf I have not seen our native Alligator Lizard yet.
They blend it quite well! Once you know what you're looking for (and expecting to see one) they are easier to spot. The trick is to not scare them because they can be quite quick to run away.
They really are cool little guys! I went on a hike this weekend and came across baby lizards too😁 I hope you eventually see one of the sand lizards. That would be cool to see😀
It may be just called European in Canada. We've got to blame someone for them, lol😂 They are also known as Common Wall Lizards. They came from a Reptile Zoo and they got released into the environment (they don't know if it was accidental or on purpose). It is believed that these originated from Italy. They have certainly thrived over the years and are expanding their territory.
I would have thought a warmer climate too, but these things seem to know when to hibernate. These particular ones are actually an invasive species from Italy that escaped or were released from on old reptile zoo here. We do have a native species, the Alligator Lizard, that live here as well. It's always cool to see these guys on the trail.
You got those on video very well. Nice looking lizards. Fast guys. Too bad we don't have those. I guess it's too cold here. Of course it's warm in the summer. It was almost 30 degrees Celsius today. It's a bit strange that it's already September.
These are an invasive animal let go from a reptile zoo many years ago. They seem to hibernate during the winter. We've had some colder winters here (though not as cold as where you are😀). That seems like a warm day there!
Thank you😁 I still need to work on my filming skills when I'm zoomed in and handholding the cellphone camera. I was happy to capture them on film😀 They are very skittish.
Que bonito lagarto! Por mi zona, los hay en tonalidades amarillas y naranjas también y de un tamaño bastante considerable. Sinceramente la naturaleza es fascinante. Un saludo!
That would be neat to have ones with different colours like you have there. It's amazing that these lizards survive through some cold winters with freezing temperatures and snow.
Are these the same lizards that we see running rampant throughout the city ? The second one seemed to have a much proportionally longer tail than the ones I see scurrying around my place .
Yes, these are the same ones. They are all over the place now! Maybe the second one has never dropped his tail so it looks longer than the others. I read that when they drop their tails and it grows back that it is not as long. It's amazing how well these guys have spread through the years.
cool capture, age! definitely pretty cool. did you know what kind of lizard it was when you came across it? also sounds like they might be a bit far from home. 😉 it's hard to tell scale, any guess as to how long tip to tail? i hope you're having a great week age! 🛴❤
I've come across these a number of times. I did know this time which one they were. We have this invasive species of lizard (European Wall Lizard also known as the Common Wall Lizard) and the native species of Alligator Lizard. I'm not sure I've seen the native ones. They hide more. They believe these ones European Wall Lizards are native to Italy. I would say from tip to tail they were 6 inches and maybe a little bit longer. So far, so good this week😁 I hope you're having a great week as well, Anne😀
There was a reptile zoo here that they were released from. I'm not sure if they escaped or were released when the zoo went out of business. Pretty lizards! Great zoom in! 💚🦎🦎
Thanks, Jennifer😁
They are cute little animals😀
How cool... I didn't see him at first. 😊
They blend in quite well and are quick to run away.
I find them cool to see on the trail😀
How cute!! I love the little suspicious looks they were giving you. 🥰
They are pretty cute little creatures😁
Yeah, they were certainly watching me carefully😀
Ahhh they are beautiful creatures ❤
I enjoy seeing them on the trail!
They are pretty quick to hide, so I mostly just hear them😁
Took me a second to spot that first one there 😊 cool looking lizards 🦎 great capture of the second one moving over the rocks
Thanks, Yasmin😁
They are skittish little things. The are pretty good at running away and hiding.
Outstanding footage man, this looks gorgeous as well as your narration!
Thank you😁

They hide very well. The rocks hold the heat they like

Very cool, they are a lovely colour ❤
They are a great colour!
Good filming and music.
Very nice👌👍
Thank you, Jamie😁
The camerawork could have been a little better, but I was happy to capture these guys on film.
Lizards? They are quite beautiful! Surprised they survive winters.

@@agesadventures Never seen any down here. Interesting vid! Thanks.
@@davidvaughn7752 I'm sure they'll eventually make their way down there. They hitchhike on vehicles.
Beautiful captures, Age! They are so pretty 😊
Thanks😁
They're pretty cool to see on the trail😀
Colorful
They're cool creatures🦎
Nice I enjoyed that 👍
Thanks, Lorenzo😁
I always like seeing the little creatures on the trail😀
Nice detailed shots of these lizards.
Thank you😁
It's always great to see these creatures on the trail and I was glad they allowed to to capture them before they ran away😀

Great spot Age (I couldn’t make him out) then he was there (lovely 👌🏻😊)
Best wishes Simon

Great footage. Really cool looking pattern on it.
It was nice to capture them😁
They really do look pretty neat up close. I wish they weren't so skittish😀
Nice find mate , there are sand lizards in the forest I camp , but never seen one yet , nice looking lizard 🦎 👍
They really are cool little guys! I went on a hike this weekend and came across baby lizards too😁

Beautiful. I wonder why they are called European? Did we import them? Random question I know. Thanks for sharing Age.
It may be just called European in Canada. We've got to blame someone for them, lol😂

@@agesadventures ah, an invasive species. Definitely well adapted.
Really nice find. It is incredibly. I’m surprised you have these all the way up north in Canada. I would think they’d be in a warmer climate. 👍27

Supposedly, you can take photos through binoculars with your phone’s camera.
You can. They have special adapters that you can use. I need to get one sometime.

You usually hear them first.
I was expecting to see some around here so I had my eyes peeled for them!
I also didn't spit on them😂😂
Wonderful...how did you get European Lizards over there?
There was a reptile zoo here that they were released from. I'm not sure if they escaped or were released when the zoo went out of business.

I've found 3 lizards in our peak district, yet nobody would believe me, they said it was a newt 😂
Do they think there are witches up there turning people into Newts😁

Yes, I did the voiceover afterwards. I thought I'd try doing that for some videos to see how it worked out.

Awesome video and beautiful captures👍
