Couldn't it be possible that while growing a new one the energy for that would (partly) come from that good old "beer deposit" (Everett's beer belly) so that evantually you both could be satisfied with the result: Everett becomes "der alte" again and Josie wouldn't have to complain any more about Everett's beer belly... Btw: Jeder Halter hat jederzeit für die artgerechte Haltung seines Amerikaners zu sorgen. Das steht schon so im Artenschutzgesetz und gilt ganz besonders für so bedrohte Arten wie Amerikaner mit abgeschnittenen "German roots".
