The two most amazing things about this robot is that the innovative jumping mechanism does not compromise their ability to score the cargo balls and that they use commonly available materials and techniques that are available to most teams rather than some of the "unobtainium" used by a few teams.
The level of creativity and engineering that went into this is amazing! Congrats team, thanks so much for sharing with us one of the coolest bots in FRC history imo!
Thank you so much for featuring our team, it was amazing to talk to the guys from FUN, aswell as everyone else who stopped by to chat about Darth Theta!
They are literally storing all the energy used to jump the robot in the earth's actual atmosphere, rather than on the robot itself! Truly a brilliant strategy.
Creative method of energy generation, incredibly consistent method of keeping the hang, redundant mechanisms to ensure no premature firing, this is absolutely incredible. And all from high school students, this is why I love FIRST and everything about it.
Love this team, got a chance to talk to them twice in Ontario and they are super nice people. Hands down one of my favourite teams this year.

Super chill team. I talked to them in their pit at Worlds and they were very nice to explain their entire climb.
so glad i got a chance to see this robot in person at champs, their climber is my favorite mechanism this season
This team was wonderful to interact with, won an event with them and am glad to know the team :)

We were lucky enough to have our pit just across the aisle from this awesomely creative machine. Everything so well thought out. Well done.
The fact they figured out to use a vacuum instead of compression to avoid the positive pressure regulations is fantastic.

Bots like this are the things that make industrial robots boring now. Like yeah, it carries that box around real well, but does it jump?

Talked to them at FOPC and Waterloo and there awesome
Crazy to think high schoolers could come up with this…
