Ever since Tubbo's story got told with "Tubbo's Song/Death Hole", the notion of the "final night" led us through some of the happiest and most painful moments of his character - and the memories he shares with his friends. Where "in the final night I was led to my demise" refers to the end of Tubbo's canon lives, "if this is the final night I'm spending it with you" symbolizes Tubbo's and Tommy's bond in the face of L'Manberg's destruction... And this time around... This "final night of peace"... It takes the form of a soft waltz that describes the fate of Tubbo and Ranboo, softly supported by the melodies of "My Bee, my Boo", of course. The family that Tubbo found during what was arguably one of the roughest times of his life, so aimless and lost after the fall of his nation, had to go through a lot, both times of lighthearted joy and heavy worry. Tubbo's and Ranboo's different choices in the quarrel around Las Nevadas and Paradise sparked conflict - not because they were mad at one another, but out of care for each other. After Tubbo's breakdown, and him selling their cookie shop, Ranboo was quite upset about it, as it led him to wonder whether he was truly making Tubbo happy, while Tubbo tried to stop Ranboo from helping Wilbur, so concerned about Ranboo's well-being under his "guidance"... But in the end, they still chose to trust. They didn't force the other to explain in detail why they had made a certain decision... They simply let them do what they thought was right. And this bond of trust, so strong and pure... A vow to love regardless of any obstacles and disagreements... It was wisdom and naivity. It was strength and weakness. On one hand, it kept their relationship from ever crumbling like so many on the server did, gave them comfort and hope for the future, but on the other... On the other a bond like this, it becomes your everything, so very visible for everyone else. And this probably would be a good thing if there were no bad people in the world. I remember how Tommy once stated that he believed Tubbo and especially Ranboo to be strong because of the dedication they have for the ones they care about, but to people with bad intentions, it just makes them vulnerable. It's a double-edged sword that cut out Tubbo's "heart" as you call it in your song: "In the final night of peace Is when my heart's gone" In that fateful night, the night that Dream broke out of prison and shattered the false peace, everything was taken from Tubbo. Ranboo died because Sam used his love for Michael as leverage... And the threat against his child rendered Ranboo help- and defenseless. His last thoughts and words belonged to his family as he asked Techno for one last favor... To find and protect his son. Ranboo lived and died for the people he loved. "'Twas the final night of peace Is when my life's gone" As Ranboo's sight fades for the last time, another new part of his being opens its eyes for the first. And when that fragment, Ghostboo, materializes on the server, he feels... Free. There is no more pain and his mind is so sharp and clear, the weight of living lifted from his shoulders... But not the family living in the small commune in the North. As the rising sun makes the snow shimmer, so reminiscent of a home, a haven that once was, and a pink tulip sticks its blossom towards the beginnings of spring, this family of three finally feels at peace. I would certainly be happy about it). The ending of the song truly is wonderfully climactic and heartwarming/-breaking, embedding the duet perfectly, really bringing out the emotion in the whole piece (which is especially potent due to darugona's lovely and adorable art that accompanies the composition's storytelling so very beautifully). And so, the song succeeds at telling the sad yet sweet story of the Bee, the Boo and the Boy: A tale that speaks of hurt, loss and grief... But also one that stands for strength, hope, dedication, trust... And love. Happy Valentine's Day, to the people who celebrate it... And Happy Birthday, Michael.

The more I can feel the pure paternal love emitting from it... It captures the essence of Tubbo's and Ranboo's love for their son so extremely well while it simultaneously reflects their own story and bond as husbands. The emotion and dedication to be there for each other, there for their child... How could there be a more fitting or beautiful way of showing it than in such a heartfelt song? The duet with promises of protection and comfort to Michael towards the end of the song is everything, *everything*. It's the most sincere and genuine, the strongest and truest wish... You really have outdone yourself (again) with this one. And you are right. Michael is probably the luckiest child on the server, for he is loved unconditionally by his parents... And while he may have been threatened and kidnapped, you can count on Ranboo and Tubbo to defend and protect him with a wrath their opponent couldn't possibly see coming. Oh. my. god. WOW. If this style is what you do for bright characters, we need more Michael songs!!! I don't know what it is, but your voice sounds so diverse from your other songs. Someone back me up here please so I know it's not just me. Much clearer, much brighter, and more developed. Especially at 1:25. That has to be the most sensational part of the whole song. The light piano gave me a chance to really listen to your voice alone, and it's so pure!! What came as most of a shock was that I'm usually not a fan of very enunciated lines in a song. Yet when you said "I may be left all alone, I'll try my best to carry on," I absolutely loved the articulation of each word; it gives these lines a feeling of extra thought and love. This whole song is just a huge step for you, PJ. The quality was much better (or it sounded like it was), your voice was purer, and your songwriting skills have definitely advanced. Also, PHOEBE DID INCREDIBLE!! For an artist I've never heard of before, her voice is beautiful, and it almost perfectly fits these lines. “I’m finally dead.” I was trying to keep it together before that but that line just killed me. The way it was said in an upbeat tone just made me shudder. I remember I was so happy that I at least got to see Ranboo as Ghostboo but then my heart sunk slightly, because I realized he was happy that he was dead, part of me was happy for the character but the other part of me just couldn’t help but play back all of the pin Q!Ranboo had to endure.
Gosh, this made me cry so hard, especially because c!beeduo plus Michael has my whole heart in the lore. This really explained just how much the two care for their son even in death. Tubbo's parts just amazingly displays how much pain and grief he's going through but he has no choice but to stay stong for Michael. Ranboo's part was something along the lines of feeling freedom and peace with death yet even though he may have died, the thought and promise of keeping Michael safe is still there. The lyrics may sound simple at first glance but the more you know about c!beeduo and their present situation, the more it hurts to listen to. So beautifully painful lyrics if you ask me. Another thing is that this song can be interpreted in different ways even unrelated to the lore. It doesn't even sound like a fansong or a song inspired by a Minecraft roleplay but something deeper when applied to other situations. Even people who don't necessarily take interest in the DSMP lore can listen to this and say it's an amazingly written piece of music without knowing it's inspired by the character roleplay. PJA and Phoebe did such a great job in this AAAA
I was loving this song already, but the a cappella and burst of music at 3:46 caught me so off guard I had to say wow out loud. The swelling of the music and vocals was breathtaking. Before listening, I was literally just thinking about your In the Final Night motif and was pleasantly surprised to find it in here! The thing I really love about your songs is the strong motif it carries through - you do it so well! Anyway, after listening to your "my bee, my boo" song, this really hits. Tubbo's just doing what he usually does when it comes to moving on from grief and taking care of Micheal - meanwhile Ranboo shows that he entirely cares about Micheal still which is SOO sweet :D. This hits very closely when it comes to the notion of being left all alone - but I'm very glad that Micheal has two VERY loving parents to care about him :).

Why on earth did this song have to make me so teary-eyed? That was GORGEOUS. Not only am I loving the reference to Death Hole but just the song as a whole. It's such a sweet tune that demonstrates the pain of the metaphysical distance between Tubbo and Ranboo, yet their shared love and hope for Michael resounds so strongly, despite their circumstance. PJA, your vocals were at their BEST here, no doubt about it. 1:25, as someone else said, was a particularly great showcase of your versatility as a vocalist. This song is absolutely incredible. Not only have you improved So Much, but this song has so much character in it. You and pphoebee_ really bring out the emotions of Tubbo and Ranboo so well in this song, and it makes it feel that much more Real, and it makes me cry because these characters deserve all that love! It also makes me cry because Michael is also such a wonderful little character, too, and this being a song for him is so wonderful! ♥️ But then, you also referenced back to previous songs you've done, like all the Final Night songs (which all had references within them, too) and My Bee, My Boo! There's so many cumulative beeduo references throughout this song, which shows just how much genuine passion and hard work went into making this! I absolutely love the “Death Hole” reference, I lost my mind.
I’ve been obsessed with song to the point it’s disrupting my revision, but it’s a good song to have stuck in my head :)
“I’m finally dead.” I was trying to keep it together before that but that line just killed me. The way it was said in an upbeat tone just made me shudder. I remember I was so happy that I at least got to see Ranboo as Ghostboo but then my heart sunk slightly, because I realized he was happy that he was dead, part of me was happy for the character but the other part of me just couldn’t help but play back all of the pin Q!Ranboo had to endure.
Gosh, this made me cry so hard, especially because c!beeduo plus Michael has my whole heart in the lore. This really explained just how much the two care for their son even in death.
Tubbo's parts just amazingly displays how much pain and grief he's going through but he has no choice but to stay stong for Michael. Ranboo's part was something along the lines of feeling freedom and peace with death yet even though he may have died, the thought and promise of keeping Michael safe is still there. The lyrics may sound simple at first glance but the more you know about c!beeduo and their present situation, the more it hurts to listen to. So beautifully painful lyrics if you ask me.
Another thing is that this song can be interpreted in different ways even unrelated to the lore. It doesn't even sound like a fansong or a song inspired by a Minecraft roleplay but something deeper when applied to other situations. Even people who don't necessarily take interest in the DSMP lore can listen to this and say it's an amazingly written piece of music without knowing it's inspired by the character roleplay.

I was loving this song already, but the a cappella and burst of music at 3:46 caught me so off guard I had to say wow out loud. The swelling of the music and vocals was breathtaking.

The thing I really love about your songs is the strong motif it carries through - you do it so well! Anyway, after listening to your "my bee, my boo" song, this really hits. Tubbo's just doing what he usually does when it comes to moving on from grief and taking care of Micheal - meanwhile Ranboo shows that he entirely cares about Micheal still which is SOO sweet :D. This hits very closely when it comes to the notion of being left all alone - but I'm very glad that Micheal has two VERY loving parents to care about him :).

Why on earth did this song have to make me so teary-eyed? That was GORGEOUS. Not only am I loving the reference to Death Hole but just the song as a whole. It's such a sweet tune that demonstrates the pain of the metaphysical distance between Tubbo and Ranboo, yet their shared love and hope for Michael resounds so strongly, despite their circumstance. PJA, your vocals were at their BEST here, no doubt about it. 1:25, as someone else said, was a particularly great showcase of your versatility as a vocalist. You have already shown an incredible talent for production, composition and vocals, but I know that as you continue to create wonderful music, you will grow and excel in these areas as you push yourself further.
