Great video as usual Phil, very interesting. I was in Time Bar for breakfast, a couple of weeks ago when Welsh Boy Webby was loudly complaining about the food and the service. He ended up shouting at the girls and walked out without paying. Me and my pal ended up paying for his breakfast rather than it come out of the girls tips, which as you know, it does. He is a tool of the highest order
He has changed enormously from when he first started. I think it happens to many. It goes to their head the fame and all that from being recognised. I believe he is still a decent guy away from the scene😊
@@mikimoto99 He can be very economical with the truth, he claims to be going to pattaya for 18 yrs when in fact his first trip was in 2015, also a well known balloon chaser around the bars, an avid anti lady drink campaigner, now has a share of a bar, bet his view on lady drinks has changed, as for getting girls for free, well come on, behave 😄
I can honestly say having been on holiday in Thailand for the last couple of months Phil runs a great bar and makes everyone welcome. I been to most of the other RUclipsrs bars while I been here but you just don’t get the welcome that you get in Le pub. Phil always says hi and in most cases takes the time to sit down and have a drink with you if you want him to. I believe in giving credit where it’s due, so thanks Phil and your amazing staff
I spent many years working for one of the largest privately owned companies. The owner had a book. Employees were suppose to read the book and study a code of conduct. I can't speak for others but I did read the book and found it very interesting. I tried to implement many of the principles into my personal life as well as my professional. The first principle is Integrity.
I got my first normal job when I was 17 and I learned things at that first job which was in a frozen food warehouse that I still implement today. That’s why it’s so important for young people to get out there and work and understand what it’s like to go from the school environment into a work environment. I appreciate your comment.
I have been very content in my rural Isaan village for 17 years. I lived in London for 52, the thought of living in a city again sends shivers down my spine. My 1 or 2 week trips to Pattaya every 3 months or so are more enjoyable as a result.
Thanks Andrew. I appreciate that. My idea of a lifestyle is not the same as everybody else else’s. I just find the rural life incredibly doll. But I’m glad you enjoy it and best of luck to you.
It is a good reminder though for some younger farang (me included) that think the Thai girl realy likes them, when in reality they don't. If they don't post any names then I think it is just informative. I agree with you on the privacy arguments.
Hi Phill thanks for sharing. It used to quite common for a sponsor to buy a girl out of the bar. Ie pay the mamasan a fee and the girl would leave the bar.and start life with her new found love. Part of this would usually involve seeing the girls card or book of drinks bar fines etc. but my question is probably a stupid one but in your opinion do you think these bars would have 2 sets of these. ie real figures and ones that were more friendly to the situation 😮😊. I don't know if this is still common now and the 10 day contract is more popular. But would the mamasan and girl share the proceeds or was it a mamasan side kick. Cheers
This system was in the bad old days when the Mamasang or Bar will go to the village and recruit the daughters of farmers who they would lend money to. That is why you had so many attractive girls in their early 20s in beer bars because if they moved away from the beer bar and went to work and say and let go go, there would be problems back in the village. So the girls had some kind of loyalty and would always stay in the bar. The money was to pay off the loan that the farmer had occurred against the member of staff. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for this practice to continue now because a girl can just walk away after her length of employment ends. But some bars just do itl anyway. I’ve paid this money in the past just to keep everybody happy, but there’s no reason whatsoever to do it. Usually, if the girl return to work, then she would receive a big bonus usually about 1/3 of the money she paid.
@@LePubPattaya cheers thought it would be a little outdated now, the good old bad old days same same but different, i some times think its me that has changed and pattaya is exactly how it was only different faces and places ha ha
Your right. I wasn't a "grass" in the UK, and now I live here, and you become friendly with these girls people & speak Thai, i'm not a "grass" here either. I see what I see and I unsee it although to be fair I haven't see that much to be honest because i'm usually so wrapped up in having a good time myself i'm not worrying what other people do. Villages been there done that great for a visit but I need the mix of East & West. Watched a couple of your vids, didn't know you had a bar here. Will try and pop in one day but I only drink once a week
I read that book twice. First as somebody who came here on holiday and then secondly when I was a bar manager. I found some of the small details that Stephen Lether had in there very significant he had obviously had access to what kind of practices that went on in those days.
@@LePubPattaya A friend of mine let me borrow a book of his, It would have been the RUclips advice on Pattaya of the time. I read it in 2 days. It's called "Money Number One." Guys are still living out these cautionary tales.
I think the old saying is appropriate, do unto others as you would want them to do to you If you wouldnt want to be treated bad ir spoken about, dont do it to others
Very good question. And I’ve got a good answer! The pavement was in shadow, and there was sunlight where I was walking which illuminated my handsome face more.
Thats absolutely the correct way, as we've discussed before if you're "a good guy" here in Thailand it goes a long way but if your an A hole you'll have no respect from staff or other thai's
Do you drive in Thailand? Do you know how annoying it is to see an arrogant foreigner walking up the road towards you when there's a perfectly good pavement/sidewalk?
Yes, sorry if I annoyed you with that. But, the lighting was better in the street than on the pavement. But I take your point. By the way I am extremely arrogant.
Couples will sort their way as usual, but you wudve lost alot. Ethical call Phil. In my case I only openly talk to Phil in Pattaya. Safe space and trust built over the years. With anyone else it's just cordial light hearted conversations..
15 seconds in and Phil strikes again , the Russian was looking for a hamburger not a Pattaya RUclipsr …. He was unimpressed!!!!! Then we got the story of Phil jealous of one of the RUclipsrs , I liked the bit 3 mins in were he talks about knowing people in the area , think Phil in stalking mode , then 3.20 in we got the good Buddha speech to counter act the up coming hit !!!!!!!
Nice one Phil it was good to meet you last week thanks for taking the time to talk. I enjoyed spending some time in Lepub nice little bar
Very nice of you.
Nice seeing you.

Much less trouble in the long run keeping out of the details and living by "what's said or done in the bar stays in the bar". Agreed 👍.
Thanks for agreeing.

Did you tell the girl that her bf had been sniffing about wanting to buy a copy of her clock card?
It was over 10 years ago now and I can’t remember, but I probably wouldn’t have done that
