Haleiwa flood damage
Ryan! Thanks so much for filming and posting. We live in Seattle and had never heard anything about this in the local news. Our family has traveled to Hawaii since the 1950s and my wife and I have stayed in Haleiwa 4 times in the last 10 years. We absolutely love this town and are heart-broken over the devastation caused by the flooding.
Wow devastating situation! I lived in Haleiwa few years ago! seeing this footage breaking my heart and soul! Sending prayers and good vibes for everyone there! Hang in there!!! Aloha!
Thank you and your prayers are much appreciated! Aloha
My heart goes out to that community, especially my buddy who lives a block away from this section of Haleiwa. Nice shots brother. I teach drone technology at Palomar College, so I will be showing this video as an example for my class.
Thank you for your support and feel free to share! That sounds like an awesome job to have!
Thank you for the footage... my daughter’s and a few of our friends’ houses have been hit hard... it is so sad to see their car... the garden and playground they worked so hard building... all under water. I am glad no one got hurt, but with so much already going on with the pandemic, it is heartbreaking to see this. Any idea if the government will step in to help?
So sorry to hear that! I’ve lived here my whole life and never seen a flood like this. Hopefully they have flood insurance and I hope they receive some kind of aid from the state. Felt so bad for the people who didn’t have time to move their cars
Dang, they should have been nicer people actually promoting aloha spirit I guess.
So true! With everything we've been thru with this pandemic, economic & so many other hardships due to covid...now this ? 😖
I hope our Local & Fed gov steps in with relief asap!
Sorry to hear about your daughter's material lost, as well as her friends and other ppl we don't know, but who are our island hanai-ohana.
( I hope they all get quick-assistance & are able to cope well with this flooding tragedy )
Thank you for the footage, lived there long ago, never saw anything remotely like this, please be safe - incredible filming of this disaster. Your safety is in our thoughts and our prayers.
Thank you, lived here my whole life any never seen Haleiwa flood like this!
hey its my home, I was really lucky my street wasn't hit at all so my family and I are good. but all of us are still working to help the people who have been affected. thanks for the prayers
Actually flooded in the same area about 10 years ago but this time it was way worse
@@Ryzone yeah it’s cause it rained for 40 days and nights
I was just there late last week, this is devastating to see the damage! Thanks for posting.
Couldn’t believe how fast the water came up and flooded everything in the area!
I know right?! Rich people losing property in a place they shouldn't live, just heartbreaking.
Wow that’s great footage.
Sending prayers from the Big Island 🙏🏼
Thank you and your prayers are much appreciated! Aloha
this is so sad. especially how i'm only 10 miles away and how this has devastated many families and businesses so close.
Prayer for all the families and businesses that got hit!
Yups ...same here! This is very sad & tragic.
(Living near #Kaimuki ,I had NO idea our neighbors were going thru this kind of devastation) 😖
I really hope nobody +pets were hurt & that these ppl get shelter & proper assistance asap.

This is so very sad, driving here during the week and having lived few miles from here makes it harder. It was scary! Even though we got stock by Sunset, few miles down driving through the rushing water in the morning and it took my son five hours getting back passed this area in the evening in the dark, Haleiwa's residence still have it beyond hard, and I wish every single one of them, strength and healthy recovery.
Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the flood water. Few people I know got stuck and couldn’t go home on this day till later in the night. Thanks for your support! Aloha
This is so much more water than I ever expected to see I live waikane it was crazy but this is real crazy !!praying 🧎♂️ for those families and businesses affected
Lived here my whole life and never seen it rain like this. When I pulled up I couldn’t believe my eyes! So sad
I was living in Haleiwa when hurricane Iwa hit in November of 1982 (Stationed at Schofield). This flooding looks every bit as bad as that. I spent the next 5 months cleaning up after that storm which had 120 mph winds. Aloha my friends - let's hope for sunny skies!!
I’ve heard the stories from my parents, their property had a lot of damage as well. Unfortunately it’s been raining last two days and we got more rain in the forecast!
Oh, gosh! I’m so sorry to see this! Sending Aloha from Austin, Texas, to all those who are affected. We were actually staying in Hale’iwa when Texas suffered so much loss in February. Now we are back in Texas and just finished cleaning out our flooded apartment. I’m so sad to see this flooding in Hale’iwa Town. We ate at many of the food trucks many times!
As a side note, Ryan, your drone videos are the biggest reason that we decided to spend so much time in Hale’iwa last month. We really learned a lot and enjoyed your videos of the area. Is your home okay? How can we help? Christie and Scott ( two fellow drone pilots from Austin)
Sorry to hear that, was so sad to see Haleiwa like this. The food trucks are some of the best places to eat on the North Shore!
Glad my videos and livestreams were able to help you guys on the planning of your trip! Fortunately my house is in an area that was not affected by the storm. Check out Koraexplorer on instagram, her house was flooded while she wasn't there and lost all her camera gear, lenses, drone, computer, car etc. There's a link in her bio to a GoFundMe if you want to help a fellow creator. Thanks for reaching out, means a lot to me and community. If you guys ever come back to Hawaii let me know!
@@Ryzone I'm glad your home wasn't affected. I'll check out Koraexploer's GoFundMe. How devastating to lose so much. We'll definitely reach out when we're back there! Sending much Aloha to all of you!
Biggest danger could come if Lake Wilson dam breaks... then the whole town of Haleiwa could be swept away!!! Prayers out to all who live in Haleiwa!!
That would be crazy! Hopefully never happens, this was bad enough!
Not! That dam feeds down the back Kaukonahua Rd thru that valley to outlet near Wailua elementary. That steam that flooded is the one bridge near what used to be Kawamata’s gas station and the senior apartment building.
@@howzit9397 only 1 spillway out of lake Wilson for 4realz?
@@eganc1976 one it’s a damn and release water when it gets to full. So it’s controlled and monitored. It was partly used to irrigate the sugar cane fields back in the days.
@@eganc1976 when driving to waialua on the back road past Kemoo farm you cross that bridge near the army gate and look to right while crossing the bridge you’ll see the damn! It’s visible from the car.
Crazy footage of Haleiwa🤯🤯
Was a crazy day!
wow.. thats crazy...so sad.. hope you all are safe over there.. much love from sweden
Thanks brother, where I live was fine but felt so bad for everyone in this area.
Thanks for sharing. Better than the news.
Thank you!
Holy shhiiiitttt this is crazy. How's the flooding look near the bridge? I live in town, but I worked at Tropical Rush in Haleiwa for most of last year and they're right on the river. Sending aloha to all my friends up there and the NS community!
Wasn’t flood over there but the Anahulu river was raging! Never seen it flow so hard!
You're white!!! You ain't supposed to live there jabroni!!!
I lived near Schofield base as a kid and do not recall rains like this either. My daughter is moving to Kāne‘ohe Bay at the end of the month. So, of course, she is concerned.
I’ve lived on the north shore my whole life and I’ve never seen anything like this flood!
@@Ryzone Hopefully it recedes soon if it hasn't already.
@@DavidLorenzoFlorida think it did right after sunset but the damage was done already. Houses, cars and businesses were destroyed!
@@Ryzone Unfortunately we see this in Florida too. It will be a rebuilding process. It will take time.
Ryan De Seixas 2008 was the last time it flooded like this.
Do you know what it looks like on the other side of Haleiwa, near Matsumoto Store? This is great footage.
I’m between Matsumoto and hear. I’m okay. Ground is saturated though.
You mean devastating footage
It’s ok on that side, the Anahulu river next to surf n sea was raging though!
What time was this video taken? Good job, thank you for sharing. Hoping my friends there are ok!
The video was shot at 5-5:30pm
the King is watching from above, keep da braddahs safe. shoots
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Prayers to all those affected by this. 😔🙏
Thank you!!
Hi Ryan. Thank you for sharing this footage. Would you be able to share the location of this footage? I'd like to buy gift certificates from some of these businesses even if I never get to redeem them we'd like to support in some way by being able to send money. I wish there was more we can do. Our thoughts and prayers are with the community.
I’ll be on the lookout for some of the gofundme accounts that pop up. This was in haleiwa, there’s a bunch of food trucks that got hammered like Malai Thai, surf-n-salsa and many more! Thanks so much for helping our community!
Brah so sad to see. I was just in North Shore...is there a way to help the people there?
There’s resources to hell on “The North Shore Community Hub” Facebook page. Gofundme, clothing donations etc. I know the majority of the cleanups were done the following day. Lots of people from the community showed up to help clean up! People on the North are always willing to lend a hand during hard times.
Praying for the families from Haleiwa 🙏
Thank you!!
I took some screen shots of your footage and I was going to make a tiktok with them with your permission. I live right on weed circle and my heart is hurting for our community. Such a crazy day :( feeling blessed our hale is safe
Go ahead, no problem! Feel horrible for the families and businesses in that area. Prayers to them
@@Ryzone thank you! It’s a horrible feeling. Two of my friends hales are in water and one barely got out
@@kavaqueen so sorry to hear that! Prayers to them and the nearby businesses! 2020 was hard enough on us
our prayers are with you Kava Queen
Thanks for sharing. Does anyone know how the area past the elementary school, along Haleiwa Road between long bridge and Waialua Beach Road looked? The plantation houses on the makai side near "Bubbles"?
Was flooded down there as well when I drove home yesterday! Not as bad as this area though
The (Star-Advertiser on youtube) is using your video as (courtesy aerial footage) ...I'm sure they asked for your permission, just wondering why they did not showed your name, or youtube sn# ?

Thanks for looking out I told them to credit my RUclips channel but for some reason they credited my business. Definitely won’t be sharing footage with them in the future!
Wow great video..bad flooding..let's pray for God's protection..and safety to all in Haleiwa
Thank you and yes prayers for everyone who lives in that flooded area.
Any idea how the Sunrise Shacks are?
They looked fine! The river next to the sunrise shack at sunset pours out to the ocean really easy so flooding is rare.
@@Ryzone thank you
Hey Ryan I live in Waialua and work for Kalo TV. We are putting out the call for volunteers. I’d like to use a clip of yours and would credit you if you’re ok with that?
Sure thing go ahead and use the footage just be sure to credit my RUclips channel. Thanks for helping out community!
@@Ryzone appreciate it and we had great response. Volunteers and people donating.
Omg 😱 prayers love ❤️
Thank you!
I've never seen Haleiwa flood like that before, how was Waialua?
Was only bad by long bridge
You use your phantom for this? Or M2A?
Was flying the Mavic 2 Pro, this is raw footage out of the camera didn’t want to to waste time color grading just wanted to get it published
@@Ryzone yeah straightaway Great footage for sure! Let me ask you… Does the pro fly the same as a Mavic air 2? I am aware it’s like twice the size. I may be considering it in the future but I’m thinking this year difference other than do you want me directional sensors is the camera ability especially if you take videos. 90% of my enjoyment is stills. Also asking this assuming that you have flown the Mavic air 2. I really appreciate your time Ryan you always pump out awesome stuff
And i couldnt figure out why pipeline cam had red surf yesterday. Honestly thought it was a red tide or something. Now i know 🤦.
Probably a good idea to stay out of the water this coming week!
🙏🙏🙏
Thank you!
Praying from Baja California, México to all the Ohanas living on those affected areas
Thank you!
This is sad !! Sorry guys I'm right around the corner waianae stay strong 💪💯🙏
Super sad, Mahalo for your support!
So sad sending prayers 🙏🏼
Thank you!
Didn’t this happen in 2009 also? Another big swell year?
Yeah but this time it flooded a lot more! Probably won’t happen for another 5-10 years. I personally would never want to live in that area.
Hope you’re doing great Bri!
I went down there like 2 nights ago to go burn and I felt really nervous about the weather... I think my gut was right
Crazy! Felt weird because there was no rain but it was flooding in Haleiwa!
@@Ryzone I feel like the constant raining was a sign cause it was raining a lot in wahiawa and mililani
@@eunicajanecabanilla401 for sure but no one expected this much water to show up out of nowhere!
Ryan De Seixas that’s because they released the water from lake Wilson.
It wasn’t raining yesterday at all where I live in Mililani. We are off Lanikuhana and Anania just before Kamehameha Hwy.
As if the pandemic wasn’t enough, all of these poor shop owners and residents now have to deal with this.
So sad!
So sad to see Haleiwa like this!
Very sad!
Last year I was using Google earth to see Haleiwa and noticed all the houses built in any kine low lying areas (Ai Ya! No Can!).
This 2021 flood is not the first time happen here. Had one dead cow floating in the Anahulu Stream last time had flood. Please, you remember this flood, and when new people like to build in these flood zones, tell them it is not safe!
Covid pandemic and now flood. Most would be humbled and grateful to be alive today. Show some humility. Don’t take life for granted, no make sassy and stay out of trouble. Bum bye batchi.
💯💯
Nature in the raw is seldom mild...and as I'm typing this, heavy rain is falling again in the same area, for the second day.
It’s been a crazy week!
Just woke up and its worse today. At least i dont have to water the plants. Good luck.
Where do you live by?
@@Ryzone im on the east side. West side is getting hammered and im at sandys right now surfing a pretty descent swell. Hope all is alright.
Thanks Grant, got pretty bad here in waialua again yesterday evening. The ground is so saturated with water here that it doesn’t take much to puddle.
@@Ryzone damn my ex used to live in waialua bout two minutes from the bridge. Damn
What a mess. Poor ppl living there. And all the businesses affected. Bad enough with Covid, this just made things 100% worse.
Was heartbreaking to see when I was flying the drone! Lots of people there right now helping businesses and home owners clean up! The North shore community is awesome!
We work over by givonnias u can see our store in the left
That whole area was flooded too. I saw the portable toilets were floating on their sides in the parking lot!

Don’t think anyone was hurt but houses, cars and businesses were destroyed! Hope you’re doing great Marina! Love yah
Poor peoples houses , 😞😞😞😞 I hope nobody lost their lives . And animals 😐😞😞😞😞
So sad, from the drone you could see so many things floating down the river.
This is so sad😢😢
Couldn’t believe my eyes! So sad
What happens to all the chained dogs ..
Let’s hope they all made it, didn’t hear of anyone losing their pets in the flood.
Why your house should be 12 feet off the ground in a flood zone
Makes a lot of sense now, the food trucks got hammered!
@@Ryzone They should have insurance
I guess that truck needs a higher lift kit!
hahaha
This is what happens when politicians put money in there pocket and not into protecting the people and the land. The community did awesome and very one came together.
💯💯
mhy grandmother predicted this and some thought she was crazy
Yeah it actually happened about 10-12 years ago in the same area but it wasn’t this bad.
Horrible damage and devastation. 🙏🏼
Yes was so sad to see!
Bummers brah
Super sad! But was nice to see the North Shore community band together to clean up the flood zone!

I definitely don't blame the 💦
When dole started the sugar cane fields they diverted water from the east to north. I honestly think that’s the real problem. When the ko’olau mountain range floods creates a huge problem for this side.

Most of real estate developers and city officials know all of this before building but they love disaster for Insurance money and creating jobs so the build where it hurt
At the end of the day it will all happen again if there's no changes made 🤦
wasn't the first time and for sure won't be the last
Lmao
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted".
You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything, in Heaven above or in the Earth beneath, or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents up to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
"If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sins, and will heal their land."
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This, then, is how you should pray:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

These are the teachings,
The Righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ our God.
REPENT, and start doing what is right.
If you abide my teachings, you are really my disciples; then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
A time is coming and has now come, that the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. God is Spirit, so his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and Truth; they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
In the New Heaven and New Earth,
only Righteousness dwells.
May the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ our God be with you all.

Super sad day for Haleiwa
My opinion in 30 to 40 years.there never been rain as much that it is happening. My belive the gods of HAWAII is angry.the way the Hawaiian islands is losing the Hawaiian culture and with all the problems in the world' the lord will take back this earth.
Crazy storms are happening worldwide! Human actions are definitely speeding up global warming and the Earth will put us in check!
It's definitely Biblical!
“Is Saturday the seventh day according to the Bible and the Ten Commandments? I answer yes. Is Sunday the first day of the week and did the Church change the seventh day -Saturday - for Sunday, the first day? Sunday is the first day of the week. Did Christ change the day’? I answer no!
