  • I've been printing in group studios my entire printmaking career because pro-quality printing presses are expensive, heavy, and require space I didn't always have. After many months of preparation, at long last I have my own professional etching press! Of course, I don't make etchings, so this press is devoted to woodcuts! The press is a Takach 18 x 36" tabletop model, and the woodcut is based on a 16th century woodcut from Lycosthene's "Wunderwerck".

It's a Takach press, they're fantastic! I've worked on a lot of different presses over the years and my favorites have always been Takachs.
