Stuart was the voice of my childhood. He was always a welcome voice whenever I would switch on the television. RIP Stuart, you will always be remembered!
Almost every night, when I flipped my pillow over, I would say to myself "as cool as the other side of pillow", and think of Stuart Scott........I have every time since he passed and will continue to b/c it may be the greatest "catch phrase" of all time.
WOW... I can't believe Stuart Scott is gone, I'll never get a chance to meet him. Stuart Scott GOD bless you, your daughters, family and friends. I wish I could've had the chance to meet you and just give you a big hug and let you know regular people we me are praying for you. ESPN will never be the same. Robin Roberts... Job well done on the ESPN's special tribute. Dan Patrick thanks for your spoken words on Stuart Scott. R.I.P. Love Ya, Peace
Thanks Dan for being so candid. We all needed that at a time like this. Stuart Scott's battle was eerily similar to my big brother's demise. I am brought to tears with each tribute because I never knew just why I've always been drawn to his presentations over the years. Dr. Bobby Scales and he could have very well been cut from the same cloth. Great tribute Dan....great tribute indeed.
My wife woke me and told me that some guy named Stuart Scott died. She was surprised at how emotional I became having rarely ever seeing me that way. I didn't know him but it felt as if a good friend passed on. I pray for his family and that he may rest in eternal peace knowing he's done so well. Gonna miss you SS. BOOYAH !
Everything about the dp show is what makes it my favorite sports program, especially The personalities and contributions of the Dannette's; but when we're able to get true, authentic, thought provoking takes on important subjects from Dan like this, that's the stuff that wins emmy's (unless Costas is in town) lol
I first noticed Stuart Scott when he was on those coundowns on VH1. The one I really remember him on (along with Rich Eisen) was "I Love the 80's". Stuart and Rich were being interviewed on various things and they were just so naturally funny. It got to the point were I switched it over to ESPN BECAUSE of Stu and Rich. So I was introduced to Sports Center because of Stuart and Rich being on VH1. As a 14 year old, I was just entranced on their style of journalism- professional and fun to watch. Stuart was always THE MAN on ESPN. I loved watching him. Hell, I didn't even know he was dying- even though I knew he was sick and because he looked really sick. I thought that was just part of the treatment. It is insane to think how life can be taken away from us in a snap of a finger. RIP Stu. You're in a better place now. Hopefully you know that we love you.
It's hard to believe that it has almost been 3 and a half years since he died! I have to say that I had the honor of meeting him at a Colts game a few years ago and the strength he had when he was fighting cancer had me in shock and awe, as I'm trying to wrap my head around how is it a person is fighting cancer can do this as if he wasn't sick! You will be missed, my friend! RIP Stuart. Great piece DP!
Dan Patrick always served the status quo. And even now in his show (which is the BEST sports show on radio and TV and ALWAYS has the best guests ) still does so. But Stuart Scott, was ahead of his time and captivated the growing, vast majority, of sport enthusiasts today.
The DP show is on peacock, $4.99/mo and you'll get access to THIS and the entire WWE library, don't even worry about tv/movies it's there, too. It's a steal at that price.
I wish to emulate Stuart Scott as I pursue a Sports Broadcasting degree at your school. I have been watching you and Stuart, Craig, Ernie, Mike, Skip, Stephen A etc for years and years. I hope to meet you on campus and chat one day and pick your ear on a ton of information. Stuart Scott is cooler than the flip side of a pillow!
It was Hannah Storm whom in the espn family losing a collague. When she burst tears in her eyes, Stuart Scott and she did this to give us a better idea on what she has lost. After a reflection and after sportcenter and after this post report. Two girls to replaced two new girl of ESPN last May found what was good and how his sport analysing. And Rich and the rest went to youtube to remember this personality. As Hannah and a female co-host of College Football sign off and left ESPN, it was a sad goodbye to two girls now two new girls are new to EPSN. We ask new girls of ESPN. What life would be like without Stuart. I asked a member of their ESPN Family to go on facebook.
The Ray Lewis incident probably shortened his life. He thought was sticking up for a innocent man but he knew the truth. Stuart earned his way to the top from local news and all. If he lived, he would have been on GMA or he should have. He had a Dave Garroway perspective on things.
No fan of Stuart Scott. Silly talk, trying to be cool and all that craps...who cares? I'll take a great guy who is GREAT at what he does-- Mark May. NOBODY better. I learn something every time I watch him. No catch phrases, no talking down to me, no attempt at trying to be hip or cool, never acting like a clown, yeah, I'll take May over Scott ANY DAY.
SeaOfVomit What poor taste? I posted that a few days ago, not when he died. Yeah, he and May are kinda apples and oranges, but I GREATLY enjoy and respect May more. Too many ESPN guys try to be cool sounding with hipster speak and catch phrases and the like, and I fucking HATE it. I'm a grown man, not a clueless millennial. I respect May for his knowledge and maturity.
Stuart was the voice of my childhood. He was always a welcome voice whenever I would switch on the television. RIP Stuart, you will always be remembered!
agreed
One more Cool thing about Stewart Scott, is that now both sides of his pillow are the same temperature! R.I.p. Mr. Scott.
Nice job Dan. Classy.
Well done.
Stuart, we all miss you so much. my thought and prayers go out to Stuart's family and friends. RIP, my friend. Thank You.
"Nobody lived life the way he did while dying." That's pretty beautiful stuff.
Almost every night, when I flipped my pillow over, I would say to myself "as cool as the other side of pillow", and think of Stuart Scott........I have every time since he passed and will continue to b/c it may be the greatest "catch phrase" of all time.
Great piece. Well done.
RIP Stu.. I hope you've found much-deserved peace and solace, my friend.. You'll be dearly missed.
Rest in Peace, Stuart Scott. We will miss you.

Sitizen Kane Can't believe that Patrick used this moment to still take a shot at ESPN... SMH
cbone72 He takes shots at ESPN any time he can. Even when the subject is way off from espn, he'll still manage to jab at them.
Sitizen Kane I dont get why
My first time seeing this but thanks Dan! You did a perfect Job 🙏🏾

Well spoken Dan!
Dan Patrick drops more names than a phone book delivery dude who just ate greasy hot wings!

Ronnie Peterson I feel dumber having tried to read what you just said. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

Wow...REALLY in poor taste and unnecessary comment.
Also, Mark May is an analyst, Stuart was a sports anchor / studio host. Apples and oranges...
