There’s so much that goes into making Tennessee whiskey that is practically impossible to make it with this barrel kit. You have to do the Lincoln county process, use a specific barrel (charred oak), has to have a certain proof and ABV, and Also has to be made in Tennessee. Mostly the Same way with bourbon. This barrel kit is really just a flavoring kit.
Bro am just starting off I checked out your website for the essence and southern which =southern comfort is what I was going for but I realised you don’t ship to the uk do you have any ideas how I can get southern Comfort essence in the uk? Or if anyone could help
I don’t know why everyone is hating on it so much yeah it’s flavored vodka but it’s not a bad idea I mean if you can end up making a cheap vodka into something that tastes like a decent whiskey, rum, bourbon etc.. then why not atleast try it? Throw your barrel on a fire and char the inside alittle bit and let it sit for a few months.
i like your video. When you say u added coffee bean.. did u mean u just throw in the bean ? and hot much for tat same barrel to get a good favour. Thanks!
Other things are so cheap there too, like brandy. even a cheap brand is $9.95 for 750 ML and here it would be $25 for 700 ML. It is government excise tax is the reason.
So I'm trying this..,but first I put the Takka through a Brita water filter. 4 times. That cleaned up the vodka. Tastes much better. Than some oak chips from the homebrew shop. Also a bit or two of vanilla bean all back in theTakka bottle in the corner to wait for months.. Who knows
it's kind of embarrassing that someone would actually be stupid enough to believe that master distillers use artificial flavor💀🤦♂️ hate to brake it to you bud, bud after growing up in lynchburg Tennessee i can definitely debunk your statement
ive looked at another video from a company called woodinvillewhiskeyco where they produce whiskey with what they call white dog whiskey (un aged) whats your advice? im merely interested in this as a hobby... what can you tell me is the main difference between your way and theirs?
WHY ON EARTH is this video ..... i just cant- NO - THIS IS NOT MAKING whiskey/rum/gin whatever- if you're using vodka you're making flavored vodkas- whiskey and boubon is made from a corn mash- - bourbon has to contain 51% corn and aged in a white oak barrel- any 'flavors' that are added makes it a whiskey not a bourbon- for that matter- the opening statement of they add flavors- NO - those 'flavors' come from the natural wood and distilling process and a mixture of corn/rye/malted barley which each have their own unique strains and flavors - anyone seeing this- do yourself a favor and do NOT follow the steps and think you're getting something quality- for cheap- you're getting junk product when you use junk ingredients
I don't mind people experimenting to their hearts content. There are no standards on what one should like. There are however a minimum of standards that have to be met before calling a liquid Bourbon, Scotch or Whiskey. Can't go get a go-cart put some spoilers on it and red paint and call it a Ferrari. It's not even a car!
good job! At least made an attempt to make a video on how to make whiskey if others think they can do better then by all means do it. don't see a whole lot of whiskey kits out there.
This isn't "bootleg." It's just flavoring any unflavored alcohol that you can buy at the store with whatever crap you sell on your website to flavor it.
MICKIN310 i was thinking about that. Jack Daniels has oak barrel chips for smoking that wreak of whiskey. Why not soak some of those in white and get a good flavor
that's definitely not how whiskey works pall, the flavors are from the residues of the grains and yeast, and the wood of the barrel, you can take vodka, and make jack Daniels, 🤦♂️
You really haven't researched much have you. You can NOT get true bourbon without grain. GeeZUS! If you said you were making a fake bourbon, scotch, etc...then I would have no problem with this!
Bourbon has no added flavors. Whisky and Bourbon alike get there flavors from ageing in a oak barrel. Bourbon in scorched or burnt new oak barrel. There are other things that make a whiskey a bourbon like 51% corn aged at least 2 years. However all the flavor comes from the wood and not from a bottle of extracted artificial flavors. If your one who likes to fight facts and 100% Proof, NPI. Look up the U.S. regulations on Bourbon and whiskey.
There is no age requirement for bourbon. You can literally pour it in the barrel wait a few minutes and pour it back out. You will have to put age statement on the bottle though. Anything under 4yrs requires age statement. The 2yr minimum age requirement is for straight-bourbon.

doesnt whiskey get its flavor from the barrel???
eagleeyedpsycho not completely.
That and the mash bill, and the water, and everything and anything that gets put in it
Marketing works.
Haha yeah, they're definitely not "flavored" 😂 like this guy is saying
The flavor comes via the expansion from the barrels they release o2 into the alcohol. This guy sucks horrifically

So if I add flavoring to a Vodka witch is made from potatoes I get Wiskey?? Or do I get flavored Vodka??
...flavored vodka. But if it did taste just like what you add and gets you drunk just the same. Would you care about its properties ?
Josh leach use grain vodka not potato
Josh leach you get flavored vodka...haha
I don't care how you flavor vodka. You can't give me vodka and tell me its whiskey. That ridiculous
Josh!!! Holy SHIT!!!! It’s Jason! CA/TX Jason!
Did one for a year using pure grain and black walnut shell and charred jim beam barrel wood pieces was priceless tasting
also if you put water in those barrels after you drink all of the contents it actually makes Swish and that stuff is powerful
I don’t know why everyone is hating on it so much yeah it’s flavored vodka but it’s not a bad idea I mean if you can end up making a cheap vodka into something that tastes like a decent whiskey, rum, bourbon etc.. then why not atleast try it? Love those little barrels!
Thank you for using the metric system. 👍🏻
would those barrels work for small scale aging of various wines, brandy, and so on? like years of age?
awesome job
If my business don't take off then I don't mind selling my concoction of flavored whiskey to my neighbors.
Can you use pure organic grain alcohol
EDM Reborn if your a dumb hippy! your drinking poison and your worried about organic?
i like your video. When you say u added coffee bean.. did u mean u just throw in the bean ? and hot much for tat same barrel to get a good favour. Thanks!
Hello Steve. Can you mix different essence's? For example part Kentucky bourbon essence and part cinnamon.
+Landon Petters - yes you can mix flavors
Wow that low price for 1.7 litres of Vodka, gee over here in Australia it would probably be over $100
Be About 25 quid in the UK
Other things are so cheap there too, like brandy. even a cheap brand is $9.95 for 750 ML and here it would be $25 for 700 ML. It is government excise tax is the reason.
***** haha yeah i was just thinking that, i live in sydney
Like electricity prices its bullshit, I say distill it yourself, it would be cheaper. well the grog that is.
Quality over quantity,
That little must be magical...
It’s cheaper to make actual whiskey 🥃 lol. But what do I know I’m only Scottish 😉🏴
Well any Irishman knows the scots make piss poir whiskey
@Still do F I'm part Irish, and I do not like your tone 👌 Every race has their own whiskey tequila and moonshine. So chill and drink up

Isn't this man just selling that secret magic bottle of scent
That mini looks like a 2L size.
Who knows

Isn't vodka made from potatoes..?
I want to make fireball whiskey. To do that, do I buy a fireball essence bottle? If not, how would I go about making it?
+OH LAWD JASUS - We have cinnamon whiskey essence that you can use to make it.
Just dump a metric fuck ton of cinnamon hearts into a bottle of jack lol
You must slay a dragon and use its heart
So many dislikes from RUclips keyboard distillers, you guys don't even know that are number of big distillers do it the same way..
That comment just earned another one
it's kind of embarrassing that someone would actually be stupid enough to believe that master distillers use artificial flavor💀🤦♂️ hate to brake it to you bud, bud after growing up in lynchburg Tennessee i can definitely debunk your statement
@@timmytexlonghorns2206 Hate to break it to you but do a little research and you'll find different
hello , how can i got that essence ? could u inform to me , thank u
Where can I find that liqueur essence?
Ebay has many
ive looked at another video from a company called woodinvillewhiskeyco where they produce whiskey with what they call white dog whiskey (un aged) whats your advice? im merely interested in this as a hobby... what can you tell me is the main difference between your way and theirs?
So, I put some vodka in a barrel labeled tequila and I get whisky. Interesting, I never knew that's how it was done.
"Moonshine Liquor don't taste no good unless you let it age in wood, lord lord I got them Browns Ferry Blues.."- Delmore Brothers
Why does my taste smoked wood?
Do you really need the essence bottle? Or can you just add your own flavors? I was thinkin about a hucckleberry whiskey
that bottle of vodka would be 60-65$ in canada...
Wait what? I need to buy vodka to make bourbon? I am not gonna do well in this Corona Bullshit Apocalypse ROFL
How did this turn out?
It turned out pretty good.
I tried this. worked for me. So him happy.
I did use the moonshine as he suggested. (just so you know)
This must be the Massengill channel?
Pecans and pecan shells for an old Texas flavor

I have tried it. My friends like it. Thats all that counts to me.

So it’s just flavored vodka in the end. Ok
Hey I took apple juice and water it tasted like beer I'm only 13 years old
It'll probably taste like other bottles at that price.
good job! At least made an attempt to make a video on how to make whiskey if others think they can do better then by all means do it. don't see a whole lot of whiskey kits out there.
Look up Copper Still in Google.

ONLY 374 DISLIKE HOW ?
USE TOASTED OAK CHIPS AND YOUR MOONSHINE AND YOU HAVE THE SAME THING THERE ARE COMPANIES OUT THERE SELLING FLAVORINGS
MICKIN310 i was thinking about that. Jack Daniels has oak barrel chips for smoking that wreak of whiskey. Why not soak some of those in white and get a good flavor
takka are you serious I guess its better than karkov but wow black lab vodka is the best iv had to date
feed back is u rock buddy :)
I have checked many woodworking plan sites. I think the instructions from Stodoys are the best.
I've found great handbook on woodprix website. Good solutions for every single project I think.
Basically prison whiskey. People who live in dry areas will have a difficult time making whiskey professionally so this is kind of a shortcut.
Title should be “How to Fake” instead of “How to make”
You don't know the definition of bootleggin
Guys don't listen to this man😡!
why? ... any danger?
Yeah, why??
Because of that smile
Why not.
I have tried this. And it seems to work. My friends like the Taste and thats all that counts.
I really like the Woodprix plans.
that's definitely not how whiskey works pall, the flavors are from the residues of the grains and yeast, and the wood of the barrel, you can take vodka, and make jack Daniels, 🤦♂️
NO, NO YOU CAN NOT🤦♂️
Nothing in this vid of interest
