- This was really nice and the recipe was sent to me by Hex who I think lives in Canada, nice balance of spices gives the meat some lovely flavours, the sauce is very sweet, and not everyone’s cup of tea, but I did like it and it worked, you can always put a sauce of your choice, yes it was very nice, would I make it again? Yes definitely but next time I would probably try a different sauce.
Hex thanks very much for the recipe 👍🏻
@serioushex3893
Amazing video. Keep it up Andy 💪🏼I love these cooking tutorials.
Thanks
nice one Andy bro, BANGIN 🔥 👊💥😎
Thanks
I was expecting you to be cooking it in the air fryer Andy 🤣 with it being a donair kebab 🤣🤣 keep it up mate love ya videos 😎
Nice one 😂😂👍🏻
Top man Andy. And thanks Hex from Canada. 👍
No worries thanks mate it was good 👍🏻
Hiya andy , well done looks good and you have the peace of mind knowing there is nothing nasty lurking inside...I wish more people would have ago and make there own...
😎🍽
It’s so worth the effort 👍🏻
You’ve got a new subscriber, Donair kebab is a BRILLIANT play on words 👍🏽
Thanks for subbing, really appreciate it, hope you enjoy my videos 👍
Brilliant recipe that mate, I remember the lowestoft kebab shops back in the day when lived there, bet yours a lot fresher and tastier 😂
Thanks 👍🏻
New subscriber here nice food ❤
Thanks and welcome 👍🏻
Great video
Thanks
I’ll give that a go Saturday Andy 👍👍👍
Hope you enjoy it 👍🏻
Great job Andyx
Thanks
tackling Canadian cuisine like a champ. nice one.
Thanks couldn’t of done without hex’s recipe 👍🏻
That looks delicious 😋
It was good 👍🏻
Aww looks mint Andy Boi another beauty 😊😊
Thanks 👍
Lamb mince is the best to use for kebabs x
I do like the lamb mince
Hey Andy - I have the same Kenwood, except it's a yellow/orange colour. At least as old. Got it from my mum. Pretty loud, aren't they?
Yeah they are but definitely well built 👍🏻
Brilliant video Andy Beard meets food had on of these on his last trip to Canada and raved about the sweet sauce and he beat Joel Hanson's record time as for the Kenwood Chef my mother had one in the 70's same colour as yours but the cog on the attachment holder sheered about 15 years ago and it was impossible to get a replacement 👍👍🌯🌯🌶🌶
That’s a shame, getting parts now is almost impossible 👍🏻
Absolutely fab, sorry i've been quiet, stuff has been a little crazy on my end, but hey, it came out looking fantastic! And yes, it's definitely something very different to what people are used to, which is great! told ya bud, that sauce is somethin special. A lot of people do a standard sweet chili sauce, or a garlic mayo, but for me, it has to be the donair sweet sauce. absolute magic.
Thanks
That looks absolutely rank mate!!!
Might look it but tasted first class
@@fatandy haha
Looks like a delish recipe. I'd replace the beef with lamb and because I don't like sweet food I'd have garlic mayonnaise.
Love your Kenwood. What a machine. I'd love to get my hands on one. I've got a modern smaller version but there's no way you can compare that with your Kenwood. Super video .Thank you sweet xx
Change the meat to whatever, the sauce is a little bit sweet but it works, that kenwood mixer is brilliant 👍🏻
@@fatandy I know we had 1 when I was a youngster. They last forever. Yes I'd use lamb or chicken. But either way it looked tasty and a lovely recipe xx
@@butterflydiva1 thanks 👍🏻
@@fatandy you're welcome and thank you too sweet xx
Will try this iv seen recieps before using half beef n half lamb mince .thanks showing . try sauce to andy as i love sweet.karen s 😊
Yeah half lamb sounds good
It is very sweet the sauce, check out my playlist there’s a recipe for donner kebab as well, it’s under homemade food 👍🏻
Subscribed fella. 👍
Thanks mate welcome to my channel, hope you enjoy my videos 👍🏻
Looked real nice Andy. I would have to use a bit of Encona Original Hot Pepper Sauce drizzled on top too 👍👍
Yeah sounds good 👍🏻
Americans and Canadians do love the sweet savoury combo. Don’t know how they can eat pancakes bacon eggs and syrup for breakfast but they probably think a full English is weird. Each to their own I guess
It was a sweet sauce, it did work and was nice, but to be honest think I would probably prefer garlic sauce 👍🏻
@@fatandy love a bit of burger sauce on mine
Full English IS weird!!
Under cooked tomatoes and trash beans and WTF even is black pudding??
Under cooked bacon and low quality sausages??
HARD PASS
Freshly made buttermilk pancakes with crispy butcher thick streaky bacon?
GIMME!!
Might as well inject grease straight into my veins eating fried bread!!
(Am mostly complained about cafes/Weatherspoons etc. Full English CAN be done well but rarely is)
This is my "American breakfast":
French toasted brioche
Sausage, skin removed and formed into patty
Crispy bacon
Rest of egg fried
Maple syrup in mayo
Make into a sandwich
CRAZY GOOD - not able to find a cafe that can make it as good as me (few have tried but their ingredients (especially sausages) are trash!!!
@@darrengordon-hill like I said each to there own. That doesn’t really tickle my fancy to be honest. Why does a full English have to have low grade ingredients? I always use free range eggs which are actually free range in the uk and good quality bacon and sausage. I suppose the beans add a bit of sweet to it instead of syrup. We normally use back bacon in the uk which I believe has a lot less grease than the streaky bacon in the US which is literally slices of pork belly
Eating that salad we be calling you SLIM ANDY 😂
😂😂👍🏻
That's the stuff Andy 😉
👍🏻 thanks
Hi Andy.. I always use a potato peeler for slicing my meat nice and thin .
Yeah good idea 👍🏻
hey andy can you please make a hummus and falafel wrap video me and my family love watching your videos
Hi will put it on my list thanks
Nice one Andy 👍
Thanks 👍
Could be the answer to our pot hole problems. Wow
😂😂👍🏻
48 years old, i would imagin that model was retired years ago but you can still get kenwood chef mixers and they still have that classic design so if there talking about that model probably not but if there talking about kenwood chef mixers you can still get them
You can’t beat the older ones, built to last 👍🏻
That Kenwood is older than me and looks better than me.
😂😂👍🏻
Decent grub that is Andy!
Trying to work out your accent mate. Are you from Gloucester by any chance?
No other side Suffolk/Norfolk border 👍🏻
Gotta love the kenwood chef. My mum has a floor polisher from 1953! Still going strong. I hate how they have rigged industry and products to fail. Expensive and bad for the environment.
They were made to last 👍🏻
Fair play mate, bit I think he may have been having a laugh with you on the sauce..
Apparently that’s a big hit in Canada and America, I can honestly say it was nice and I can see how it came together with the savoury and the sweet, it’s no different really than having gammon with honey or maple syrup over it 👍🏻
Google a sweet Donair sauce the recipe is the same 👍🏻
48 years old? A fine collectible.
It’s an antique like me 😂👍🏻
I'm the same age as your mixer mate! ha ha
Wish I was 😂😂👍🏻
It's an amazing machine mate, looks like you bought it yesterday! @@fatandy
It is a good one 👍🏻
Love a kebab 😀
👍🏻
Meatloaf kebab..looks good.Shall avoid the sweet sauce.Used to drink condensed milk by the tin on patrol in the army in Angola.
It can be a bit sweet, it does work but I think personally thinking about I would prefer a garlic sauce 👍🏻
Condensed milk sauce? "🎶I'll do anything for loaf, but I won't do that🎶" RIP Meatloaf😈🦇🥀. Mate, no way, we've got mum's old 1970's Kenwood. Original glass bowl, cover, dough hook, balloon whisk, blender, mincer, cream maker, sausage filler and coffee grinder attachments too. Mum was an Austrian Patissier and it used to go off to Kenwood every year, for servicing, 'cos of the hammer it got. Probs why it's still goin' strong. Those were the days when stuff was serviced and repaired, not binned, eh🤷♂️?.
Not wrong...before circuit boards pure mechanical nothing that you can't replace yourself easily last forever...fridges,microwaves,toasters you name it....was better before...used a bit more power but point being last forever...some the home appliances pre circuit board are mad...even look n work more futuristic than our stuff now...sunbeam radiant toaster check that bad boy out from times gone by very clever how built and looks sick no handle pushing your bread down you just sit the bread in and toaster knows n pulls it down then knows when ready n slowly pushes back up...but its design very clever inside ...worth money now...but yh I'm bit nerd on that stuff 😂..cheers
@@jshaw4757 Correct. I remember Kenwood ringing mum one year, and the engineer said that some of the steel cogs and gears needed replacing, and they could replace them with nylon. He said it would make it run quieter because the Chef was a noisy beast. Mum asked would they last as long? He said no. She said use steel, I'll live with the noise!.
I'll check out that toaster, sounds fascinating for the era. Cheers, mate👍
Definitely it’s seen some work and still going strong not like the c**p you buy today 👍🏻
Good old British engineering
@@fatandy In fact, thinking back mate, I'm sure mum first bought it in the late 60's. I seem to remember all of the removable attachment covers were white, like the main body. Then it came back from one service with the more up to date blue covers and a different speed control knob. It was another, better, world then☝️.
How did this recipe compare with "Tongmaster" kebab Andy?
It was very nice, I think Tongmaster is slightly better 👍
Don-heir to the thrown kebab
Good advert for Kenwood!
Definitely 👍🏻
Andy if you pour the juices into a ice cube tray and freeze it you can use the cubes as stock also if you don’t eat it all freeze it when you fancy a bit of doner meat take it out of the freezer and with a sharp knife you can slice it nice and thin delicious love the video 😊
Thanks
Might be better with Lamb meat
I would of done with lamb, I did the beef as I was following the recipe that I was sent, but still tasted nice, sauce is a bit sweet, probably use garlic sauce next time 👍🏻
Looks great aside from that sauce 🤢 I'd be sick putting something that sweet on a kebab
It is very sweet, it does work, but yeah I would probably have a garlic sauce in the future 👍🏻
Sauce: you sure he wasn't trolling you or mispoke?
Cos that sounds GROSS!!!
It’s sweet but it works 👍🏻
The meat was so tasty and a nice balance 👍🏻
We love fat Andy!
😂😂👍🏻 thanks
Never heard them called 'donair'. I think you mean 'doner'. Also, they are more traditionally lamb, or at least a lamb and other meat combination.
They call them donair in Canada and some parts of Germany 👍🏻
😳 Sweet sauce 🤮 Typically American 😂 I’m gonna try the meat recipe though 👍
Sauce is sweet, the meat recipe is really nice 👍🏻
@@fatandy Does it taste anything like a kebab from the local takeaway ?
@@marksoutherton8888 yeah it’s fairly close, check out my playlist under homemade food, I did a kebab which in my opinion is as good as the kebab house 👍🏻
Much nicer than the stuff you buy the stuff you buy us just terrible a little story I feed a fox and she loves donor meat eww it's greasy and smelly but yours looks really nice and the fresh salad looks nice as well can't beat homemade
Definitely was nice and no nasty stuff in it 👍🏻
@@fatandy true at least you know what's in it my fox usedto grab this meat and run off with it itellyou it stunk 😂😂😂
@@julianash4663 😂😂👍🏻
Cooked it way too long mate... 45 mins wrapped, 10-15 mind unwrapped for some bark.
Just going by the recipe I was sent 👍🏻
@@fatandy Fair play.. Add a teaspoon of cumin powder next time, and a pinch of paprika. Cook it like I said, and you'll get a better result.
Thanks
@@fatandy No worries. I've given you a sub mate.
Thanks mate enjoy the videos 👍🏻
I really dont like the look of that sauce, i think heinze garlic sauce would be far tastier, or sweet chilli as its a beef based kebab.
It is very sweet, I would probably have garlic sauce next time 👍🏻
Meat looked great but that sauce...no....
It is a bit sweet, it does work, but personally I would prefer garlic 👍🏻
Home made chicken enchalatas please
I will put it on my list 👍🏻
Not for me…
👍🏻
