@GunFuiChi as a new beliver once I heard this I was instantly drawn to it as truth. Jesus is the way he said it himself. I belive the disconnect most have with the Christ based religion is the idea all you have to do is ask for forgiveness but not change. Jesus said you must repent and walk the middle path a part from the world. The false gospel gives people lies about their sin nature. You can sin as we all are made of flesh. But you must always honestly try to live a righteous life and treat others with love and respect.

This current Pope serves an agenda (the 2030 Agenda) that wants to extinguish human diversity and create a generic religion and a generic global culture. The pope is visiting Belgium at this very moment. The visit is a bit controversial. The last times when the pope visited (80s and 90s) it was very different. Belgium was still much more Catholic and the pope was very popular.
Nowadays secularization has gone a long way and many people don't really care about religion anymore. Moreover the sexual abuse scandals have rocked the Church in the last two decades. The pope isn't here for that, but the topic has been dominating every moment. The pope adressed the topic after our pm made a rather direct speech towards the Catholic Church and the poor way they handled the matter until now. The pope made a rather good speech about the topic (depends on who you ask. Some people thought it was good, others were dissattisfied). Afterwards he spoke two hours with some of the victims. Most of these people said they were happy with the conversation and the pope's willingness to listen. They still aren't happy with how our ocal Church handled it all so far and they want the pope to deal with that.
Personally I think sexual abuse has been (and still probably is) everywhere in our society. In schools, sport clubs, churchs (and other religious places), care institutions etc. The Church isn't alone, but they have done a very poor job in dealing with it. The Church needs to be open and have a zero tolerance policy. No more cover ups.
I hope the pope understands this. Right now the reputation of his Church is terrible. Even if people would feel a call to become priest, they might not make the decision, because priests are very commonly generalized as p***s (you know what I mean, just censored myself for google). That's not great.
By the way the pope also has been speaking in Italian over here. That's nice. I would prefer Latin, but I understand why Italian is being used today. :)

We have major radio stations openly joking and mocking him and television news reporters who are openly amazed that he still managed to draw such a sizeable crowd, and the crowd was in no way packed and very international. As a leader I feel he will give others a false impression of Christianity and also lead Christians into false doctrines. Some branches of the church emphasize examining the teachings of pastors and leaders to see if they are scriptural, but I have found that in other branches of the church there is a strong emphasis on putting blind trust in earthly authorities. So, for the ones who have been taught to trust what the Pope says without question, it becomes very easy for people to be led astray. Words uttered in just any public appearance are not considered infallible. They teach that he is a fallible man, in every regard, except that under specific circumstances: when he speaks "ex cathedra" (from the chair, or from the authority of his office) and when addressing matters of faith and morals, ... he does speak infallibly. Such statements are generally issued in writing, and carefully reviewed, before they are issued.

I'd take issue with the idea that saying "My religion is real, yours is not" leads to destruction. The idea that the only way to disagree on what is true and what is false is to destroy society... that is a very childish view of conflicting ideals. People can argue very passionately and still be civil and respectful to one another. Jesus said "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Religions are not all the same. You will have enemies. But you should love them anyways, and treat them kindly.

Unfortunately modern culture today seems to largely misunderstand tolerance with acceptance...like, they think if you're tolerant of someone that it means you need to agree and accept who they are as a person, and if you don't then you're automatically a bigot.
But, tolerance simply means to be able to understand that people are different and that you're not going to judge them for it personally...it does NOT mean that you need to accept them for who they are and like what they are doing. Tolerance is about respect, and people who are different than each other can show respect while also not compromising on their beliefs. It's a shame that many don't seem to understand this and get irate if you don't 100% accept them

20:00 As a practicing and informed Hindu, I must say, you're wrong here. There are mainly two words or concepts that may be understood by the word "God" in Hinduism: Deva and Īshvara.
Devas are the typical pantheon of gods that westerners are usually familiar with. Īshvara is the One, all knowing, all controlling, etc. deity, which comes close to the upper case God of the western religions. All of the different sects/denominations of Hinduism believe in these two concepts simultaneously. All of them. The differences between the denominations is largely which of the Devas they see as being the supreme Īshvara, and what is the relationship of the individual souls with them. And the sects may not even be mutually exclusive. A devotee of Vishnu may even genuinely believe that for some people Shiva may be the way to Ishvara. And that ultimately, they are not different.
This is not some post-colonial reconciliation. This idea has existed right since the Rgveda.
I'm not at all saying that Hinduism is compatible with Christianity, Islam or Judaism. It's not. But what I am saying is that the idea of one God is neither foreign nor offensive to Hindus.

    • @SputnikRX
      @SputnikRX Месяц назад +3

It only appears in the most recent additions to the Rig Veda. Later Vedic thinkers flirted with ideas akin to monotheism, but the original Vedic culture was solidly polytheistic. Hinduism is strongly influenced by the people who were influenced by those who created the Upanishads. The first three sections of the Rig Veda have less barring on Hinduism today than the non-Vedic religions present in India before hand

@@SputnikRX The most "recent" additions to the Rgveda are still older than other present day established religion.. So, it's anyway pointless to try to split ends there to understand Hinduism as it is.
Rgveda Samhita is mostly a collection ecstatic poetry, with hymns that are to be used in a largely ritualistic context. And ritual worship, even today, are performed in an individual-deity-at-a-time way. The formless "Brahman" is never ritually worshipped, even by staunch Advaitists even today. Rg-Samhita is not a book that clearly states its theology because that is not its subject. Therefore, for the most part, ideas can only be inferred. Still, the idea of "one God" isn't just an Upanishadic concept. It exists right in the Rgveda Samhita itself not just in the form of universalizing concept of Rta, Amrta, the divine fire, henotheistic praises etc. but also more directly as ekam sad viprah bahudha vadanti, indro mayabhih pururupa iyate, Purusha evadam sarvam, Brahman etc. exist in Rgveda Samhita itself. No need to go to the Upanishads. One can even see deity names and attributes combining, merging and being used interchangeably within the Rgveda, seemingly illogically for a solidly polytheistic system. In popular imagination the deities may be distinct persons, but to the Rshis, they seem to be like principles of a whole. There is nothing "solidly" anything about it. The Upanishads expand on these already pre-exisiting concepts in the form of dialogue. Upanishads are a continuation of the Mantrabrahmana, even part of it as seen in Taittiriya, or Ishavasya-Upanishad which comes within Vajasaneyi Samhita of Shukla Yajurveda. Upanishads are not at all some breakaway or revolution as many modern people like to imagine for their own fantasies. One just needs to see the text for what it is without projecting an imagined story onto it.
The idea of one God would in no way be offensive even the the Rgvedic Rshis. The idea of on exclusive form/name would be. The idea of exclusive polytheism and exclusive monotheism is itself bunk in case of Hinduism right from the Rgveda.

It teaches that people who have never had the chance of knowing Jesus because they either never heard of him or were presented with Jesus improperly COULD theoretically and occasionally be saved because God can DECIDE to work in different ways than the usual because HE KNOWS what people would have accepted him if they had the chance, so these people still deserve to be saved. im old and was raised Italian Catholic. although I left that faith a long time ago(I'm a Buddhist now for decades), this pope is... well very different then the ones I have known in my life... it frankly seems to me that the higher ups of the church have been coopted like so many institutions in the west. The " all religions are on the same road" thing is a modern hippie western stupidity, even Buddhist peoples don't see things in this way and Buddhism and it's goals are very different in many ways compared to say Christianity and it's goals, with one basic huge difference is that Buddhism does not concern itself with a creator god.
Btw for the Hindus, there really is only one creator god, Brahma, and the whole purpose of the religion is to become reunited with him. The rest are beings that come from that creator. The Hindu cosmology is just filled with more types of beings than angels and demons etc because there are more realms then the physical realm, heaven/hell/purgatory.
With all that said, that doesn't mean religions should not have interfaith dialogue and find common ground for the benefit of humanity. Come together on what is in common, and respect the differences.

As a muslim and a fan of you metatron, I agree with you, that as a Christian believing in jesus as god is not optional, just as believing in Allah and his prophets and attributes is not optional for a muslim; and that by believing in one religion you disbelieve in all others.
After all, the idea that all religions lead to god is nonsense, as a lot of religions either contradict each other or go against each other, or don't believe in the existence of god but in the existence of an afterlife, maybe reincarnation, some believe in multiple gods and some in one god.
If I was on stage, I would have said I believe in Allah and Allah only, just as you metatron would have said i believe in jesus and the Trinity only, you can't have a Christian muslim or a hindu Christian as that wouldn't logically make sense.
And if the pope said it because he didn't want to offend people then:
1st-changing your beliefs based on people's feeling shows either stupidity or insecurity in belief, a disastrous thought for a pope.
2nd-this can only be considered Offensive on a very shallow level, as looking into the logic behind the statement then you wouldn't be a Christian or a muslim or a hindu or any other religion, let alone the leader of an important sect, because how can you follow this religion as the truth if you believe it's not the only way, why even believe then?
Why worry about offending people when the logic behind everyone's belief is that it's the only truth and that i must follow it, why would I, a muslim, find this Offensive when I operate on the same principle? Why would anyone really?

The Pope didn’t say HE does not believe Christ is the only way to God. He’s the biggest Christian in the world, I sure hope he does believe that. I mean, that’s a given. Or he’s the biggest hypocrite in the world as well.
For true Christians, Christ is the only way to God. Christ himself IS God in human form. For Christians.
That wasn’t the topic for the Pope in that setting, or so it seemed to me. I see his speech as a reaching out to others of different religions that don’t view Christ as God. So to them, why would Christ be the only way. They have their own ways.
From my POV religion is universally about connecting with God, in living by the principles of one’s faith to reach that goal.
Pope Francis is the most inclusive Pope I’ve ever heard speak. He’s the OG of inclusivity, daring to reach across every barrier. The inherently exclusionary beliefs of the Church was such a problem for me growing up Catholic.
It seemed I was being told believing in Christ & even being Catholic was the only way to get to heaven. I just couldn’t bear that I wasn’t going to see my non-Catholic friends there, maybe not even my Mom cuz she didn’t go to mass & take communion, like ever.

As an agnostic I disagree with the pope as well. I'm at 7:30 only, but what he said there doesn't seem right: There are religions who believe in more than one deity - whose properties and significance might be very different from the Christian god - and there are religions who have no deity at all. So really you can't say that all religions are just different paths towards god. Yes Judaism, Islam and Christianity are similar in that sense, because they're closely related, but you can't say the same thing for all religions.

    • @magyarbondi
      @magyarbondi Месяц назад

We can argue about the definition of religion, I could agree it's Western when we look at Judaism, Christianity and the last religion: Islam. But they are no different from the ancient traditions of the world in the sense that they are all based on revelation, and they all teach about something higher than life which can be known and attained - this is why I disagree with agnosticism.
Regardless of worldview though, probably we agree that such scenes with the Pope are nothing but political. Such discussions have hardly anything to do with understanding religious dogmas or questions. Recently, there was a much more horrendous scene which made it clear that all they want is to drag the discussion into the mud. They can do that because the Church always speaks out of a defensive position, unfortunately.

What the Pope is saying is deceit, it has a form of truth, but it is heresy. There is only One truth, and there is only one way to the Father, there is only one salvation. The pope is saying that all religions lead to God, he is putting Jesus on the same level as hindu gods, and pagan gods, and demons. As a Christian i will of course talk to people who don't believe like me, but we should never contradict the truth in order to appeal to others, which is what the pope is doing, it is dangerous to conflate talking to people, and validating their beliefs, i have talked to many people about their beliefs, but it is done from a place of me knowing the truth, if i dont know the truth, than i cannot share the truth with others. he is not saying we should just listen to each other, he is elevating false religions to the level of Jesus, which is completely and unequivocally unacceptable.
I would have absolutely talked to you when you were a neopagan, I would've absolutely heard what you have to say, and I would never have shamed you or condemned you. Still, my purpose would be to show you the truth, not just entertain conversation for the sake of fostering religious "inclusivity" What the Pope said is a doctrine of demons, and it should be taken as a sign and a warning that the Pope is not speaking Gods word or the truth, we are told to discern the spirits, and if there is a spirit that speaks a word that contradicts the Lord than that spirit is not from him.

We must consider context & audience. These were Inter religious youth engaging in dialogue, trying to find common ground. As Catholics we look at whether the or not the Pope is speaking on doctrinal matters. As these were off the cuff remarks to youth of various religions we can most assuredly say they were non-doctrinal. In that case, one should maintain a positive attitude toward non-doctrinal statements found in Church documents (or speeches), but-precisely because they are not statements of doctrine (authoritative teaching)-they do not require intellectual assent. One thus should give them serious and favorable consideration, knowing that God is guiding the pastors of the Church, but the nature of these statements ultimately does not require you to agree with them.
Audience & context matter. The Pope in his visit to Belgium the last few days had published his Apostolic address. This address spelled out his beliefs. In it he made it clear that Jesus Christ alone is the only way to God.

I do disagree with Pope Francis on many issues and was shocked by quite a few of his deeds in the past but - and hear me out before you pick up your stones - it's important to differentiate here on which part one can and should agree and where not. Let's make perfectly clear that Christ was crystal clear in his statement: "Nobody comes to the father but through me". Not all paths lead to God, they simply don't and it can be observed with our own eyes. What Pope Francis could mean is that all religions aim to find God. That would be an accurate statement and a foundation for fruitful conversation. EDIT: Pope Francis is doing himself a disservice by not clarifying it. The Catechism is clear: In every religion there is a spark of truth, but only Christ's Church offers the fulness of truth. We should not bicker in aggression like many do, but acknowledge the common goal: Finding God - finding truth. I'd love the Vatican to clarify, but then again Pope Francis seldomly explains himself appropriately. Sowing confusion is not noble, that should be clear and as such should be remedied, but I also do not want to accuse him of things he might not have intended.

Everything Metatron says about the Pope's original statements and about that Greek passage from the Gospels is spot on. My only minor and inconsequential quibble is that I prefer the official interpreter's translation of "figli di Dio" as "sons and daughters of God" to Metatron's "children of God" because "children" in English can mean both "sons and daughters" and "young human beings below the age of puberty or below the legal age of majority", but Italian has two separate words for those two : "figli" and "bambini" respectively, so the Pope definitely meant "sons and daughters".

I might be a protestant myself, but John 14:6 is also the way I justify what I call Biblical christianity being fundamentally different to every other religion, in christianity it's all about the grace of God, in any other religion or life philosophy, you yourself have to contribute to your salvation/enlightenment, there it's mostly about what you do, not about what Jesus has already done for you and what He now wants to freely give you, if you accept Him. Saying all religions are the same is about the most unchristian and unbiblical thing one can say, not going to elaborate further on that...

In Islam the way to reach salvation is through mercy of God Prophet Mohammad PBUH said : " There is none whose deeds alone would entitle him to get into Paradise. It was said to him: And, Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon, he said: Not even I, but that my Lord wraps me in Mercy " muslim 2816 .
But the difference is the way to deserve mercy . In Islam to have mercy is how are you merciful to other and that more justice than what you preach .
Because in Islam Allah will judge according intention which he is the only one knows no priest or pope which means taking in account the individual differences :
The blind will not judge as who can see because obviously the work is hard for the blind. The poor will not judge as the rich and ill will not judge as well all be judged according to their intentions

    • @Vidhur
      @Vidhur Месяц назад +2

@@Mu3az523 It's not about doing good, wanting to do good comes natural from accepting God, as by accepting Him you accept his Word and thus His Commandments, you will want to follow them and serve your fellow man, but going to heaven is solely mercy won through Jesus' sacrifice on Golgotha. On the other side, it was even possible for one of the criminals beside Jesus on other crosses, in the eleventh hour of his life one of the two looked to Jesus and asked if he could be with Him in paradise, and Jesus told him he would. This doesn't mean that you can just sin all your life and use grace as an excuse, you have to repent, but as long as there's life, grace and mercy can be given to you, freely... It's not up to us to judge whether this is a "moral dilemma", since we're all sinners, we're all clay and we don't tell the Ceramist (with a capital C) that we deserve better (Romans 9), we can only ask for mercy...

The papistry has always been corrupted. No one man can be the HEAD of the church. The head of the church is Christ, the pope is a man and is a sinner he is not infallible. The twisting and bastardizing of the gospel shows this, Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. I do not respect an organization that sits in lavish palaces of gold while the needy starve. I’m glad many of my brothers and sisters in faith are realizing that the Catholic Church is a false church. Even the name they call themselves “Catholic” meaning whole or complete is a statement driven by ego. All you have to do is look at the history. Might be because Paul's letters are admittedly a big source of where most of our most confusing and arguably controversial doctrines came from. While he has contributed greatly to the faith, admittedly some of his letters have been twisted in ways that they become stumbling blocks for fellow Christians in various ways. Like people who use Paul's words to justify sexism, slavery, and other things.
As a Christian, I myself tend to look at parts of the New Testament and ask God "what were you thinking with this?" Primarily because I don't understand the purpose of certain verses due to how they've been misused for a long time. We can try to blow off those who have misused scripture, but in order to truly counter them we must understand what the scripture actually says, or else we end up accidentally making the Bible look fallible by not adressing any criticisms or errors raised.

Gude Metatron, your video is much appriciated. Very honest and important take on the situation. I also liked how you made it like a broader discussion while using their video. This is like the community interactions we had and lost on youtube, so thank you for interconnecting those things.
Btw, I think there is a difference between offspring/creation of God and the term children of God. You made it clear that people already disagreed and you may not see this or wont reply, thats all fine. Just there is this difference I find in John 1,12+13
"12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (NKJV)
I'm not a Greek expert, so I have to try and search and understand the translation differences. My unprofessional find is a difference of vocabualry in the Greek:
John 1,12 uses τέκνα θεοῦ (tekna theou) "children of god" while Acts 17,28&29 uses γένος (genos) with a different grammar structure to connect Θεοῦ (theou) with the "offspring ... of/from God". Theological speaking, through my bias, it would lead to the conclusion, that all mankind is made in the image of God, to become children of God through relationship, which is an adoption by God through faith. This we can see in unison with Paul in Galatians 3,26+27 even though he uses here the term υἱοὶ (huioi) "sons" -> θεοῦ (theou) of God
"26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ." (NKJV) q.e.d.
Best regards, even if we agree to disagree.

The pope also recently came out and said Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. The problem is everyone is trying to make the pope say one thing when he’s being vague and ignore the concise thing he says that contradicts the popular misconception. He’s literally the most lied about, misunderstood, and mischaracterized person in the world. In Acts 17.22 St Paul addresses the athenians, praises them for their spirituality, and informs them the unknown god they worship is the same god that he worships, they just dont know him. People walk with God their entire lives and religions are different paths of that walk. Not all of them lead to salvation but all are an effort or a path to god in our lifetime.

@@dorugoramon0518 I know that and agree that this isnt dogma but i agree with the teaching but lets look at scripture and then a logical modern example….. take acts 17. Paul doesnt admonish the athenians for worshipping a false god. Instead he praises them for their spirituality and then informs them the god they worship is the same god that Paul himself worships. In this way, the athenians were closer to god than if they worshipped nothing at all.
Now for a modern example: lets look at an atheist who spends his life on the net being a troll. He comes up against a smart muslim who convinces him the truth of islam. He stops being a troll, prays, stops sinning, tries to live a good life according to the Quran. Would you not say that person is closer to god than he was before? Is final salvation the only time that we encounter god? What about all the years of our lives of struggling, the religions of the world are an attempt at reaching and pleasing god. The pope also said that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation…. I just dont see what everyone’s problem is. Recently a protestant friend of mine tried to say youre either a proper christian or you worship a demon. I dont see how that fits with scripture, traditon, or common sense.
We live in a polarized world and everyone is a polemic. I think its refreshing to see the pope looking for common ground. No wonder he has soooooo much opposition.

The idea that religion is a “path to God” is indeed a traditional understanding. The word “religion” comes from the Latin “religare,” meaning to bind or reconnect, implying that religion helps reconnect humanity with the divine. Pope Francis, for instance, often speaks of respecting other faiths, but it’s important to distinguish between acknowledging the sincerity of others’ beliefs and saying all paths are equally true. The Catholic Church maintains that Jesus is the fullness of truth, but it also recognizes elements of truth in other faiths. The pope’s comments could be seen as promoting dialogue and respect without diluting the central claims of Christianity.
