One of my favorite movies of all time, Mr. Sayles, from day one when it came out. Owned the video forever and was thrilled when it finally came out on DVD. Such a fine, subtle, humble study of characters, plus the nature, and then that fantastic twist when things change in an instant and became essential. A true test for those three characters! Thanks, John Sayles for giving us all your films, love them all, own them all....and David, you are to die for! Noboddy compares to you. (And isn't it nice to see Charlie Rose when things were still intact in the world, or we thought they were. Most intelligent show on US television for sure. Now a thing of the past, alas.)
'Make a movie about politics' - maybe not such good advice, since Sayles says fairly that there's a political undercurrent in most of his movies anyway; bringing it to the fore (as he did in Silver City) felt a bit too much.

is Sayles gay?
He has a female significant other for many years.
No, he just won't button up.
@@SB-000His producer, Maggie Renzi, who was also a minor character in many of his earlier films.
I hate a cliffhanger ending.😂💔😭😭😭
