Ha! You noticed. It’s definitely overkill for the ups, but it climbs well and I figure it’s making me stronger for when I get ahold of something better suited for this kind of elevation. Thanks for tuning in 😁
Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw we were about to get a 16 minute video. That was so much fun to watch. Congrats on finishing, dude! Keep the immaculate vibes coming, you're such an inspiration.
@@PedalVision I used to live in Morganton, rode those trails in the 2000’s. Nothing better than an evening ride up Curtis Creek Rd, getting above the clouds and serenaded by coyotes! Never put them all together though. 👍🏽.
love it, great video. That false summit on Kitsuma is the worst but be glad they changed the course this year and you didn't have to do Kitsuma a second time at the end.
great vid!! we were riding together most of the way up the greenway at the beginning. I was on the white Ibis DV9 hardtail. Glad you finished! Great attitude!! Congrats!!
@@PedalVision I did it twice in the past and swore I would never do it again. But I decided one more time since they changed the course and it was my first event in the 60+ category. I finished and I won't do it again. But proud of my effort.
Dang, it isn’t looking too good for me. I swore I’d never do it again, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thinking about hitting it faster. Congrats on a strong finish in the 60+ cat, and good luck on not doing it a fourth time.
Congrats, Mr Monster Smile! The girl you almost rode the heckler section with is my friend, Bavie. Great ride!
Thank you bro! I rolled with Bavie for a while. She’s cool people, and I was thrilled to have good company.
Nice work! That's a big bike for that climbing. Love the positive attitude and always smiling.

Intense! That looks like a fun experience though. Well done. 👍🏾👏🏾
Thank you! It’s a memorable experience, for sure.
Awesome video! Those are the most enthusiastic rest stops ever! Great job finishing 👏
Thank you! The rest stops are one of my favorite things about bike races. I don’t get those vibes when I’m rolling solo, so I like to soak it up.

Thank you Hans! I had to take a crack at a full length flick. I really appreciate your feedback.
I thought going up Mt Mitchell the "normal way" (The Assault) was hard. This is next level!! Nice work, and great vid as always
Thanks Brian! For the record, the normal way is hard too 👊🏿
@@PedalVision yeah, I did it in.....................................1988 : O
@BrianSlaughter whoa 🤯 it’s hard to wrap my head around that. Will you revisit?
Thanks for the video. That’s a brutal ride, well done!!👍🏽
Thanks for watching! It is brutal, but it’s great in hindsight. Just in case you’re thinking about doing it 😉

@JohnRider I could see that being a nice ride when it’s all quiet and lit up with a headlight. I’m with you on the coyotes though, let them be.

Thanks Jeremy! Man, I don’t even want to imagine riding Kitsuma twice. Those switchbacks are insane.

Thanks Dan! It was nice to roll with you. That greenway was crazy beautiful at the top. How was your race?

lets gooooo - i just signed up for the SM100 miler, ahhhh
Hugh! You’re a madman 🫣
I don't have the legs for that climbing though but that's awesome man 💪
It is a lot of climbing, but the biggest ones were more about settling in and staying cool. Kitsuma was a MF though, Heartbreak too 🥴
Well done Greg - Brad from the WT parking lot...
Thanks Brad! Dude, it was nice to meet you.
You keep it fun
Fun makes the suffering easier
Dope!!!!
Thank you!
lol. I love how our content is us just dying in a race. 😅 I just posted Reggie ramble and I have another dying in a race video coming soon too.
I know right! We’ll make heavy breathing cool one video at a time
When did you move to NC?
@@beardyandthebees I’ve always been in NC
@@PedalVision I thought you were living in Los Angeles when I started following you and commented on your Midnight Special
@beardyandthebees my Midnight Special hasn’t even seen LA …yet! I rode some gravel in Morgan Hill though
@@PedalVision my bad…I don’t know why I thought you were out in Cali rippin it up lol
@beardyandthebees it’s all good. I spent a couple weeks rippin it up in Cali. You ain’t crazy!
With that much climbing I'd be on an xc
That’s the smart play. But since my XC bike is singlespeed, I went with the big boy.
@PedalVision great video though!
Thank you!
@@PedalVision and you may not have trained for this but you look super fit
@msm624 now you got me blushing. Thank you 🙏🏿
