Luxury item I’ve axed with prejudice- a flask: heavy; turns out alcohol is not helpful with either adjusting to elevation or recovering after a long hike; and while I thought I was cool with it in my 20s, I need to focus on focus on physical recovery and having a clear head if something goes sideways in the middle of the night. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the content! Love it
I have the same hammock along with their straps. It comes in at about 8 oz total if you get their straps. I use it for the same use case since I tarp camp. But I find that it's only useful in the warmer weather. Otherwise a chair or butt pad win out for their ability to hang out near the fire. I used mine last weekend along the AT and it was definitely one of my favorite luxury items on that trip. Also use a butt pad but switched to an MLD 1/8 pad that's similar to the GG pad. It's more versatile than the simple butt pads since it can go under your sleep pad for protection and or grip, above for extra insulation, or used as a backup. I even wrapped mine around my legs on a cold weather trip one time so I guess add blanket to the list. The ones like yours do work better for fire bellows though. Also a S2S pillow user, just the UL version. It's a must for me now since it makes such a huge difference in comfort while sleeping. Sometimes I'll bring camp shoes. Most often my 4mm sandals, but Crocs are great if there will be a lot of water crossings. They are heavy and bulky though. My other luxury items are an axe, unusual but I enjoy it. And sometimes a fishing setup if there will be opportunities on the specific trip.
@@WallowaHikes I don't post anything serious on this account. My ultralight backpacking axe video did get a few views though. ruclips.net/video/vgvcvvRIf24/видео.htmlsi=zkhif5n_TZFrCb1J

My luxury item is a REI Flex Lite chair, but now that I see your 6oz hammock, I may get one to replace the chair!
Thanks for sharing!
I ended up purchasing a hummingbird hammock but apparently the company is defunct and has failed to ship my hammock or answer my emails 😢
@@HikingWithCam That's terrible 😔. Let me know if you get any updates.
@@WallowaHikes The hammock arrived yesterday, finally.
@@HikingWithCam Thank goodness. I think you will enjoy it.
Went back to the pump sack for my Nemo Tensor. That Flextail 1.2 pump does not perform well.
Good to know. I tried the pump on one trip to test it, but I'm still on the fence about taking it on multi day trips.
