Thanks to MisterMunkki for laying down an awesome run to give me one hell of a challenge! Also, the credit (or maybe the blame? haha) goes to him for the hostage RP farming strat used at the beginning of John's region. This allows you to skip some of the long story missions in that region.
I found a great RP farming spot in Jacob's region and abused the hell out of it! Sorry for the monotony but it is the fastest way to complete his region.
There was a lot that went into routing this run and I could keep going to make it faster (most likely something in Faith's region since it is the longest) but not sure if I will. Maybe if somebody beats my time...?

Yes, I sat through that a lot but not as much as you may think. Pro tip, you can make save files on PC and practice from any point in the run. Then you just have to put it all together once you got the route the way you want it

I honestly never cared much about far cry until my friend told me about 5 when it came out and I instantly loved it. Hyped for far cry 6.

So far, FC4 is my all time favourite. The world, the story and the gameplay are great. They basically polished FC3. Playing FC4 is more fun than FC3 in my eyes. But these two games are the only AAA-titles I played multiple times.
@@idnfjf282 hell no far cry 5 is probably my least favourite far cry. The lack of character in everyone made me not interested into the story along with no sense of mission progression because you could do any mission in any order you like which I didn't like. Also unlike previous far cry games, when entering a mission there wasn't a cool motion capture cutscene, instead you just talk to the character which was really boring in my opinion. Also my character had no voice making me feel no connection towards it.
@@ActiveGummy I agree with your view on cutecenes that really wasn’t a good idea where you walk up and start a conversation the amount of times they got hit by a car or mauled by some random bear or even just walked away was very annoying

Far cry 5 is me of my favorite games, I’ve completed the campaign on hard (still was easy, as even hard is not hard) in 4 days, then I started the new game+, and finally got that pure far cry hardness. All I can say is that you are pretty damn good

I feel your pain with the shitty NPC pathing.
I had the same issue with Hurk's first mission.
He was stuck on the last zipline just waiting at the bottom of the tower.
And i had to kick him towards the truck for him to continue.

Ngl, part of why I went to this speedrun was to see if there was a way to skip the very first cutscene, the interviews. Heli ride was fine, imo, but the interviews feel like they're 8.5 years long

Any advice on doing this run I tried to do it once with doing everything in order or in a way to go quick but I messed up because I didn’t really know what I had to do to actually do a full run
Yeah it's important to know exactly what is required in order to complete the game and then try to do the minimum possible things to finish it. In this game, you progress by getting RP (resistance points) in each region. You fill up the bar with RP by completing missions, outposts, rescuing hostages, killing cult VIPs, etc., As you do so, you'll get captured/blissed several times. When you fill up the bar completely, you'll fight the boss in that region. Once all 3 regions are cleared (plus Dutch's island obviously), you can fight Joseph. Then just bash his brains in with an aluminum baseball bat and the game is pretty much over 😜

How did you run so fast using meelee?
I noticed that sprint speed was increased during attack, but how are you managing to line it up like that? (if you don't mind me asking)
Watch my key inputs. If you still can't get it, ask me again and I'll go into detail
I can already see the inputs will be hard to read. Have at least one melee weapon. 1. Hold forward and sprint button (do not let go). 2. Do a charged melee attack. 3. Press 5 (to change melee weapon) before the swing animation happens. Repeat 2 and 3 over and over again. Make sure you not let go of forward and sprint buttons.

34:34 How did you one shot black bears??? Old version of the game allowed that? Or is it still possible with charged melee attack? IMPRESSIVE combo attack with the quick accuracy with the knives OMG.
I'm using The Furious homeopathic which is available in all patches of the game. You can access it from the utility wheel (second page of weapon wheel). It tells you there what is needed to craft it. I have a couple doses early due to the chaos pack that came with the game when I bought it and is one of the only packs that is allowed in the speed run.

With fists if you hold shoot then let go you will go fowards and do some fast punch

It's not as bad as you think. The beginning, yes. But, you can use save files to practice without sitting through them.

Quick question, how come you bought the helicopter instead of using the dlc vietnam helicopter?

how long did you practice a day for how many months? To achieve that incredible time? I want to do a speedrun but I don't know far cry 5 is difficult to do because of the way to advance in the story
It took me about 10-12 days and I was putting in 10-16 hour days. The way to progress makes it a lot of fun because you can do things in any order. Finding the fastest order was like putting a puzzle together and then blowing it up with rockets!

@@frankmenen6078 watch my on screen key strokes. That's why I included the keyboard overlay. The way it works is by equipping a melee weapon/fists, perform a charged attack and before the swing animation happens, switch to another melee weapon/fists. Keep cycling this over and over. One thing that helped me a lot was to hold down the sprint button (shift) instead of tapping it repeatedly. Also, you can either use the button to select a melee weapon (5) or just select 2 different melee weapons back to back then use the "last weapon" button (x) to switch back and forth between them. I found that using (5) is best because sometimes the game defaults your "last weapon" to a gun that you didn't have selected. Lastly, I found it is fastest to switch between fists and a bat because it is fastest to equip fists and the bat seems to be faster than a shovel or pipe.

@@frankmenen6078 oh yeah. I thought you might be on console. Do you think you'll be able to make it work? If not, then just run and jump. That's usually faster than just running.
I finally did a No-Death run on Hard Difficulty. Really hard because those helicopters glitch a lot and instakill you if you don't land on flat ground.
Very cool! I know exactly what you mean! I figured out how to avoid that for the most part. You can't be holding the descend button when you exit. So, land the helicopter, let go of all buttons, wait a second or two, then exit. This way the helicopter is floating instead of lowering. I also did the same no death run with 100% completion but only reset to the radio tower on Dutch's island if I did (using a save file) because the intro is dreadful.
I've been trying to finish the slingshot only challenge on hard no deaths but have died during the final fight with Joseph twice now.
Did you pass the intro in the passenger seat of the truck with the Marshal without dying? It is damn near impossible because you can't dodge and don't have enough health or med kits to make it through without a miracle. Of course I'm talking about New Game, not New Game+

I actually am trying to speedrun far cry 5 myself, ive been playing 5 hours and im almost done in faiths region so yeah not that good but a personal record for me
How do you have patiences to do a speedrun? Once i get frustrated i just switch everything off and sit in a huff 😂
Well, when you really enjoy a game, it's easy. There was a glitch near the beginning, during Dutch's island, that seems to only happen when I go super fast. I was huffing and puffing about that a lot but you never get to see me do that haha! You only see the best run here. I think I will redo this run soon. Both to get sub 3:30 and a higher quality recording.

But then you have to live for the rest of your life wondering, what would have happened? What if I wasn't such a coward? What if my parents actually loved me? What if that man in the park with the cute puppy dog didn't touch me in my naughty place? Would things have been different? Is it too late to change my mind? Should I go back and cuff that bastard and fight like a man? Is resistance futile or is there still hope left in Hope County? But... You'll never know. You'll never know because you aren't the hero that we hoped for. You are meat!
Oh, and yeah, everybody knows this trick already, especially the speed runner with the world record. I get these comments all of the time. The speed run that you see here is the Non Alternate Ending category, which is the real speed run where you resist and actually complete the game. Technically, if you don't cuff Joseph, you don't finish the game because when you get back to main menu, you have the option to continue and if you do, you will be back where you started without any progress being made. No progress means no ending.

How many times have you finished the game in total? Personally I've finished it 6 times.
I'm not sure but I've done a lot of PERMADEATH challenge runs that weren't fully completed and a lot of practicing for the speed run which consisted of playing parts of the game over and over using save files but not completing the game every time. From start to finish probably at least 20 times. I have over 1000 hours of play time.
But only had about 350 hours when I did this run.

@@AlvinLandin I only played on Easy for the speedrun because that's the fastest way to do the run, and that's the whole point of a speedrun.

so a while ago i was asking if it was possible during the quest jumping ship (john region), to simply put him in a truck bed and bring it to the boat, so i just try it and yes it work (he glitch in the bed of the truck) but won't get hurt and you can simply drive the truck. Also wow far cry 6 is amazing (yes i try fishing and i have already 6 hours in the game/normal playthrought)
I thought about this too but I thought it might take too long to set it up. I think it is faster to just farm RP from freeing the hostages over and over again and that's why I don't do this mission

How do you do be that speed boost with melee?
I hold W+shift while doing charged attacks with fists and bat (any 2 melee weapons will work), switching between the two before the swing animation happens at the end. How do you start off with the bait and the homeopathics?
It's part of the chaos pack. It's an add on to the game that was being used in runs before I came along. It shouldn't really be allowed in official runs but Ubisoft does not allow you to remove it once you have it and there were already runs on the leaderboards that use it so it's allowed.

Worst way to start a game ever. They doubled down in FC6 with the forced slow walk in the intro and a patch that made a cut scene unskippable.

Primal is best. New dawn and 5 come next. After doing this speed run, I have started liking 5 a lot more actually. But, 3 and 4 are also great. I love them all from 3 on.

Why is the difficulty for this run easy? Why not just go hard mode?
For speedrunning, the idea is to complete the game as quickly as possible. Therefore, the difficulty is set to Easy for this run. I have done a 100% No Deaths Playthrough on Hard.
