This isn't "walking to your throne" music, it's perfect "genius pushed to the brink becoming a super villain" music. From them designing, planning and testing to them standing over the city/world/planet/system that they intend to start with. This is a villain's origin story at its end, this is what happens that allows the hero to be born/found/created/trained/woken up. This is is the final threat when you've beaten the last bad guy and their boss shows up to show you how you've played into their hands. This is movie cliffhanger "We thought we killed the alien threat but we accidentally spread it oh god oh shit oh fuck I'm so sorry i have to call my loved ones to say my goodbyes". This is an ancient evil drawing breath for the first time in centuries music
Exactly what I was thinking. That moment before a psychotic break leads to pure evil.
For me, and something that I might work for a future book is this:
The revolution leaders finally take out the oppressive regime and even stop the military coup taking place in the middle of it.
But when they question why this was happening and why they did things, they suddenly realise:
The regime wasn’t trying to oppress humanity.
They were trying to save and prepare it.
And it’s revealed that both sides were being played against each other by a third faction weakening them both in preparation for the actual threat of a massive invasion from beyond alongside their collaborators.
Leading to a war that ends all wars in the galaxy and quite possibly, the entire universe as an insidious power prepares for its arrival and the fate of all reality hangs in the balance.

Heavy, powerful footsteps break the eerie silence of the throne room, as the man radiating the dangerous, untouchable aura walks towards the throne, his piercing gaze falling upon people standing in a line, both to his left and right, bowing their heads, shrinking away from his piercing gaze. They refused to meet his eyes that brewed thunder, pride, and the ability to bring anyone to their knees with just a glance from him. No, they wouldnt meet his punishing gaze if their life depended on it. Perhaps out of guilt, but he really couldn't care. He jutted his chin forward in pride, as he reached the throne, the crown already waiting for him in a red, silk cloth held by a soldier --- or peasants, as he liked to call them, --- a little over his head.
He stared, or more like, glared, at the gold band decorated with hundreds of shiny jewels, and couldn't for the life of him figure out what people thought special about *this...* piece of jewelry he though insignificant. But he was no fool. Despite his indifference towards the jewel, he knew with it came mightiness so raw, it could bring anyone on their knees. He stroked the crown with his knuckles, as if he would to a doting lover. It was often said, that for the ones you love, you will be willing to go to immeasurable lenghts to protect them, because you love them beyond anything.
He had no one to love, and no one loved him. And if that statement was true, he would make this crown his lover. He'd protect it with his life, because this is what he loved. *Power.* Power so raw, that it would make grown men shake in their boots and Satan wannabes fall at his feet.
He picked up the crown with both of his hands, and walked to the throne, where he would rule for the next few decades, before eventually meeting death and laughing in its face, mocking it for not being able to take him before his epic victory. Even after that, his bloodline would rule over the Empire for centuries to come with the same ruthlessness, mercilessness and an iron fist as his. He faced the people, or now called Subjects, all looking at him with dread and fear.
_Don't do this. Have mercy,_ their eyes screamed.
Almost in a blink of an eye, he had lowered himself on the throne, and the crown rested on top of his head, reminding his subjects, almost mocking them, of who used to be the king before, how he used to treat this now untouchable deity, how all of them had supported their previous king and in what position they, and the Empire are in, now.
A feeling of dread immediately thickened the air as everyone stood frozen in disbeleif, refusing to accept their reality, holding on to a false sliver of hope, watching as if expecting all of this to be a nightmare.
"Obey me, and you will be rewarded greatly." The King's suave voice, as charming as the princes in the fairytales kids were told my their nannies rang across the throne room which was as silent as death. All knew that it was a façade, though they were quite slow to catch up to his ulterior motives when he was silently working alongside the previous king, acting as a traitor and going to great lenghts to achieve his success.
"Defy me, however," there it was. The _actual_ monster underneathe that charisma and charm was out, showcasing itself in the form of sadism dripping from his voice like honey.
"And you will be punished."
"The Empire of Ivanova is mine now. Mine to rule. Mine to bend. And *_mine_* to break."
It was over, his subjects knew. They had fallen in the hands of this monster, and there was absolutely no escaping it. Those who tried, would have the extreme misfortune of answering to him, and the saying goes, 'Death becomes a luxury when you meet the King's wrath.'
