What is the stt site? haha I guess that answers the question if I'm a member huh? Thank you for the reply. I cant wait! Jumping the 12 might not be a good idea eh? I'm looking forward to it though. Hopefully I can get out there soon and start track marshaling or corner working or something like that to get to know the place. I look forward to riding with you. I had a ZX10 I used to rip around on but ended up letting my dad have it Next year will be searching for a proper track bike..
track is pretty technical. It is a slower track but fun as all hell. I would be carefull riding a 12 though. a few blind corners, a jump that goes BOTH ways, counter and clock wise. and a bowl that is tough and after the bowl is the bus stop that is crazy tough to nail correctly. But that streight away is long as hell and the corner at the end is my favorite part of the whole track. Hope to see you there. are you a member of the stt site?
You are making the same mistake I was this year. I know the track quite well and was not going faster either. After watching some riding instruction videos it dawned on me what I was doing wrong and appears your having the same problem. I was trying so hard to get my knee down and rotating my body around the tank. This has the opposite effect of what your trying to do and actually crosses you up on the bike. Check this video out by Ty Howard. He has some great advice and should help you turn some quicker times next year. Ty Howard "Body Position"
Ya I tried both techniques. But this one works best for me. I also try NOT to touch my knee to the ground for financial reasons. Pucks are expensive over time. I have gotten a lot faster just by doing whats comfortable for me. When I rotate my body like that I am actually holding my knee above the ground. I also don't do the screw driver method either with my wrist. I do alright on the track. I tried to go advanced but I out ran my instructor. So I just stay in the I group and practice different methods. I also practice form on the streets and it just fits me. Then when I apply them on the track I push myself well into my BPF "Butt Pucker Factor" to 10+. Then when I get home I watch the videos over and over again to see where I can improve. Im kinda my own critic. My best time so far is 1:33.
you gotta be moving pretty fast to get air, but to move a beast like the 12 would take alot of energy. But I see busa's out there all the time. But I bet you will have fun on any bike you bring. If you go just put a comment on here and I will get it and I will prolly see you out there. The site I was talking about is sttforum.c.o.m we get in touch with people that way. Hope to see you out there man
