    It’s all a balancing act.
    Phil’s got it right

    Great interview! This changes how I see Phil. I'm surprised in a positive way. He's different than the videos on RUclips portray him. Of course many of the videos show his "blow ups" which happen when he's losing, or had an unlucky hand.

  • @123Mathzak
    @123Mathzak 5 лет назад +2

    The most important lesson in Poker that makes you a winning player is being aware that losing the hand and losing the game are two different things. Somebody can get lucky and win with 72 vs your AA, but did they really win by making that play? Because if he does that same scenario again with you 100 times, odds are you’ll be very rich by the end of it, and that’s what poker is all about

  • @123Mathzak
    @123Mathzak 5 лет назад +6

    A lot of you are confusing Phil’s confidence with cockiness. He said it himself, he believes he’s the greatest, but only because of what he’s put himself through, the hours of studying, the dedication to being good etc

I could be wrong but I'm thinking he's not necessarily linking the story to a strong personal experience. Sure, he may be learning but it's something he'll think about. Great Interview and insight into Hellmuth. Absolutely agree that Money Management is a requirement in Poker or any other job. Everyone has Bills, an Ego, and Pursuits in life, and we have to develop the discipline to keep things in Balance.

    This was really well done, would have been cool if you guys broke down some of his previous poker hands and got him to go through what his mindset was in those high pressure situations.

      I loved his whole way of thinking. The probabilities, reading people, who's strong and who's weak, how do I act according to that etc. awsome !

    No one loves the camera more than Phil lol That being said he is my biggest idol in poker and favorite player. While his antics aren't for everyone, he plays the game beautifully.

    I know people who act the same way (bratty) playing sports or video games. I've come to learn that it's because they are so competitive and that's the only way they can express it. It is what it is. Phil wouldn't be Phil without that character trait.
