An idea for Ki clashes could be you could defend using stamina and attack using Ki. The idea is a resource management battle of either burning through your Ki to win the beam struggle or holding your ground with your stamina and following up with your own Ki burn and overwhelm your opponent. Makes it to where Ki and Stamina based characters both have a chance to win if you play your cards right. And the damage could be based off of which stat you have more points in. So a strike super character would win the struggle and rush down the opponent with strike attacks, a ki character would follow up with beams or blasts, and a normal attack character would use a combination of strikes and blasts.

That would actually be dope, and would somewhat mitigate the drawback of having high stamina when your guard is broken…
We already have a perfect system with raid bosses death spheres. Idk why they didn’t incorporate that into 1 on 1

Xenoverse 2 *technically* already has beam clashes, and you can see it if you go into photo mode and have 2 characters do a beam attack the beams will actually collide and stop moving until the beam is done
(it also works with x100 big bang Kamehameha even tho that’s not really much of a beam)

Not gonna lie that might be legit the only thing that Xenoverse is missing cuz ki blast battles were dope. However as far as Dragonball games go Xenoverse 2 is my favorite because there is a move I use to eat spirit bombs and it is flash fist crush so most times I just wait for them to charge it and throw it because it’s slow so I just time it and break the spirit bomb with flash fist crush because it blocks the ki blast then you punch it and destroy it I’ve even done it to Goku when he tried to burst kamehameha me cuz it will cancel enemy ki blasts. and the worst part is he tried to point blank me with it so I not only stopped his Kamehameha I also punched him right in the shnoz and yeeted him away from me for the start of a nasty combo string that put him down while Vegeta was fighting the avatar I made for me deceased brother and his character was beating the breaks off of Vegeta so I could focus on Goku.
now that I think about it, why isn’t it in the game?

Well Super Saiyan God is built off having more stamina that’s why you still see goku and vegeta using it preferably before going blue… but you know that already don’t you?😅
