The bible states that we should not think that Godliness is a means to financial gain. We don't see how we can get more money through the Gospel. God provided for idol worshippers while thy hated Him. See acts.
I grew up with a poverty mentality, I see that now. My father seemed to believe that having money was tantamount to being a carnal Christian. So I'm guessing that is one reason why he had to spend everything he made. Good thing my mom paid the bills. This from a man who was a deacon, Bible teacher, etc. Having prosperity is much more than money. We need to have the money to accomplish many kingdom purposes. I am very weary of people in the church who keep telling us that we should all be poor. Living paycheck to paycheck is not an abundant life. It's being an evil servant who burys his talent in the ground. #dynamicloveministries
Totally agreed! There are SO many Scriptural references as to why God wants to prosper us. * Prosperity confirms His covenant with His people. Deuteronomy 8:18 * Prosperity enables us to help the less fortunate. Psalm 112:3, 9 * Prosperity enables us to establish relationships and grow in our influence. Proverbs 19:4; Luke 16:9 * Prosperity allows us to be generous on every occasion. 2 Corinthians 9:11 * The ability to enjoy prosperity is a gift from God. Ecclesiastes 5:19 * Our prosperity brings enjoyment to God. Psalm 35:27 Jesus listed several reasons that God had anointed Him. The first reason that He listed when He read from Isaiah 61 was that He was anointed to "preach good news to the poor." (Luke 4:18) What's good news to a poor person? The good news that you don't have to be poor anymore!
you are quoting the blessing to the Israelites not that of Abraham. The blessing of Abraham was that all nations will be blessed in him. Righteousness by faith and the promise was made to abraham and his seed not as many seeds byt one seed Christ. We are now blessed with the eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Look at Gen 15:6 - and Rom 4:3 & 13....there it says anyone of faith in the promise it is imputed to them also...so the blessings of Abraham are upon all those who believe through His covenant.
