The high pitch gearbox noise is quite normal because all of the OC500LE CNG buses sound like this and you will also hear a similar sound on a Volvo B12BLE when it enters 2nd gear at full throttle
sounds like its supercharged! i believe one of the k/net/c Mills Tui Orbits in my town suffer from a gearbox fault as it sounds quite loud from gears 1-3
I rode this bus just before all the videos went out about it. It was very loud and fast bus. The worst natural gas bus is 4875 it’s a heap shit it struggles up hills and it slow as its engine fan turns on literally on and there no one on it like crazy.
Gearbox defect? ZF Ecomat’s some of them are meant to sound like that loud and make loud noises The gearbox is actually a ZF-Ecomat 2 6HP502C 6 speed automatic.
@ Yeah it is quicker in that other video Just before I recorded my video of 4868 I was told it was involved in a prang which could of happened anywhere front, centre or rear of the bus and could of damaged alot of components in the bus that’s probably why it isn’t that quick anymore.
@@satransitvideos That's a shame, I really hope 4868 still has the ability to fly like a rocket and make those slippy noises, although it's still probably the loudest bus at Port Botany currently.

@@PoweredByCNGmy videos are very much about visuals, and I don’t like having really long clips from the same angle, so it’d be tricky to get the entire gear sequence in the video without the same angle becoming boring. I do appreciate the noises that a bus makes in higher gears, especially O305s, but I don’t want my videos to become monotonous, hence why I film from multiple angles showing the first few gear changes since it’s the fastest few that it cycles through.

She sounds Pretty Much like a B12BLE, these Days it is so hard to find a Loud *GAS* bus in route service.

These gas buses are "most likely" to phase out, from driver's concerns of operating them.

If you want a shit gas bus, try 1900 or 1975. 4868 is an awesome unit though, it’ll be a sad day when they get it fixed properly :(

One thing I’d suggest is to film continuously from start to stop rather than cutting out when it finishes accelerating.
What’s the point? You can hardly hear any gear changes after 3rd gear
