- On the 18th of September I marked the release of my second album, Sowing Acorns, with a virtual mini-concert live from Narrative 4 Ireland, Limerick.
At a time when everyone in the live music industry has been faced with huge uncertainty, it's been difficult releasing new work - In celebration of the album’s survival, I rallied some sensational musicians to present this short virtual concert; an intimate advance preview of seven of the songs from Sowing Acorns.
Thanks to my bandmates on the night, Alec Brown on cello, Ray Yrure on percussion, Lucia MacPartlin on violin, Niamh Varian Barry on violin and viola, and Ann Blake on bass, for helping bring the songs to life.
This virtual concert formed a part of the national Culture Night programme of events and was supported by the Limerick Culture and Arts Office and Culture Night committee. The concert was free to view, but viewers were invited to make a donation to support the artists. If you were among those who supported and donated to the creation of this video, look out for your name in the end credits!

My wife and I were on vacation a couple of years ago from Tennessee (USA) and were in a farmer's market in Dublin, Ireland where this young lady was playing the guitar and singing. I was in a store when the beautiful tone of her voice caused me to come outside. My wife continued to shop but I sat and listened for close to half an hour. By the time we left the market I had purchased the young lady's CD and boy am I glad I did. Listening to her voice is like watching a ballerina gently, liltingly, an effortlessly parading through some wonderful melodies. Her use of "Irish" phrasing combined with her angelic, clean voice makes any song sound wonderful. Her song "Winding Way Down to Kells By" was one of my three favorite songs from 2020. As an a cappella arranger I also took great interest in the two a cappella songs she performs. The arrangements are SPOT ON! I remember hearing Stevie Wonder when I was having a difficult time emotionally and thought to myself, his music made me smile and I would like to be able to make someone's heart do the same (especially during a difficult time) with my music. I can honestly say, Emma's music, her voice, and her arrangements do that for me. Thank you for what you do. You have a fan for life! ❤️
Hi Bill! I think you mean the Limerick Milk Market :) I remember you guys - thank you so much for this beautiful comment xx
