- Before each heating season it's a good idea to check your heating bulbs in your infrared heater. If any are burnt out this way you can get them replaced before the cold weather moves in. Vital importance that you do not touch any part of the unit when cover is off to avoid possible electrical shock. If you don't feel comfortable doing this don't do it!

Anthony here I'm from Glasgow (tho stateside now). I grew up in the beastly cold ! I'm 63 now. I don't believe we even got color there until 1972-73. Up til then it was gray and off gray. I've an older 8-bulb Magnavox. It's just lovely in a real oakwood cabinet. Noticed this year that it's lacking a bit. I'm a retired computer engineer/musician and I'd know idear ye could replace the elements. I found out I can still get the bulbs today. I kinna tell ye how much this video helped me and I'm a new Subscriber ! 🍀🎸🍀
Really appreciate your nice comment and very glad the video helped you. Hopefully your old Magnavox will keep you warm for years to come with the new replacement bulbs.
Where did you get the replacement bulbs?
I noticed that my Duraflame was not heating as well as before but was unaware that the bulbs could be replaced. Thanks ... Cheers
Very welcome
Where do you buy the replacement bulbs?
CHeck EBay and Amazon they usually have the best prices.
Why are you running the unit upside down? Shouldn't the tip over protection kick in ?
Big box heaters like this usually don’t have a tip over switch as they are not likely at all of being tipped over and have no exposed elements that would pose much threat even if they were.
How do you change the Bulb in the front of the unit?
Theres videos on that but its fairlry simple, remove the filter in the rear & turn unit upside down remove the 3 screws in the front then 2 in the rear theres one in front of each wheel! now as long as the bottom isnt bent or pushed up any put the unit on its nose, front facing down & pull up the whole unit should pull out leaving the shell, sides, rear & bottom. if it gives you trouble you will have to remove the screws holding the side covers & possibly the bottom , not a big deal then you have access to all the elements!
Try a Vornado heater. Been using them over 20 years now. I have only had to send 2 back in that time . 5 yar warnnty. They paid for shiping both ways.
I’ve heard good things about the Vornado.
@@MiamiCOIndiana I tryed the heat4less 2 winters ago. the thermostat was way off. I live in a 1998 double wide1204 sq. ft. Il live in the den kickhen & dinning room about 550 sq. ft. I did't see were heat4less heated any better than my avh10 vornado.
This heater has 3 sets of two bulbs each in series hence if one of them blows up then the other one in that set will also not glow.
You are correct, I noticed that when I installed new bulbs in my old unit.
So…don’t touch anything???
Correct to be safe from any chance of electrical shock you shouldn’t touch anything.
Change the bulbs man
I actually did change them this year.
