As a person from Shuaka community, I would like acknowledge it is the finest documentry on our tribe I came across. Well words put together! Also I would correct slight mistake that Ralam valley culturally and linguistically diffrent to Shuakas. The inhabitants of that valley are resisded by rung tribe. Johar Valley in Munsiyari is a scenic and culturally rich place. It is known for its stunning landscapes, quaint villages and the vibrant culture of the Johari people. The valley offers a mesmerizing backdrop with snow-clad peaks, lush green meadows and Milam Glacier that adds to its charm. Thank you so much for describing the Johar Valley (Bhotiya tribe) so beautifully. If you have specific questions or need more information, feel free to ask 🤗 LOVe From Munsyari Hills 🙏
Well-researched summary ! Btw, the subject-🎉 community is most-misunderstood in larger parts of Kumaun . In Garhwal, they are better integrated with the mainstream and their border villages are well-preserved and maintained because of better road connectivity. Thanks and keep the torch aloft.🎉🎉
Winter migration happens in many parts of Nepal not only adjacent to Uttarakhand. There are hundreds of villages from where people migrate to low lands during peak winter.
@@basantrajdhungana9666 you have wrong information. Being a trekking enthusiast I've been to many remote mountain places and there are many villages that migrate when there is too much snow. Upper Dolpo, Mustang,Manang ,Tsum Valley , Rolwaling valley ,Dhorpatan etc , you'll find those migratory villages. And for Far West the video says that there are such villages adjacent to Uttarakhand.

The information you have provided through RUclips about the ancient tribes of the Himalayas in such a short time is a very good and hard-working effort, but still a lot is missing about these ancient tribes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. I have been thinking for many years that I will contact you soon
The way this man is promoting the roots of Uttarakhand and showing the real culture, their lifestyle, their issues,etc..that is commendable! Keep going Harshit. Really well work from you. Way to go ahead. Come soon with new projects!
I am from haldwani and like most my parents to migrated from pahad so to provide us better education and for better health care facilities, do you know in haldwani be have "Johar mahautsav" its celebrated by bhotiya people its like a cultural fair, they serve there traditional food and dance and everything all people are invited and are free to come, haldwani has all type of kumaoni communities from johar valley to almora every type of kumaoni person is here and we have good ammount of bohotiya settlement thanks to that i have many bhotoiya friends as well, even though we all miss our pahad dearly, sometimes i feel that Haldwani serves as a melting point of all kumaoni culture and all different communities become friends and get to know each other is one of the positive and delightful side of the coin, a thing which allows me to see positive in this city when I sadly and angrily criticize govt for not developing our villages and distroying our culture the anger also become directed towards the city I myself am from
The line “it took many years to create but took only a year to stopped” was powerful…… even in Arunachal 1962 stopped many things which was aged old, between Arunachal and tibet, now we only hear stories about them. from west to east many tribes are special relation with tibet, that lost and cut off after that war….
Thank you harshit!! As a shauka I don't know much about my culture and origin I read several books but this video gives all the information about it. This video really helped me to understand about our origin and culture. Thanks again!!!

Everything is incredibly well done, and there is an endless number of knowledge about our state. As a keen learner of Uttarakhand's culture and history, I must say that you are doing an incredible job of keeping to the state's little-known past. This is the icing on the cake, dude. Eagerly awaiting your upcoming film featuring a different aspect of our ethnic Garhwali and Kumaoni culture ✨💙
Tibetans were called Bhote since 7AD by North Indians and Nepali with whom they had traded and travelled to study Buddhism. The most famous Bhote was Thonmi Sam Bhota who went to India to study Sandkrit and Grammar. He composed the Tibetan alphabet and grammer based on Panini. It is not 1962 war but 1959 occupation of Tibet that impacted the trade. Indian still reluctant to say the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet as the main cause. China confiscated property of Tibetans and were carted by Beijing as loot as invaders do - such as British looted India.
2:09 very important point raised, Harshit! The term _bhotia_ is indeed a misapplied or inappropriate name for the trading communities of the north. It's very sad that many people within State and even the Tribal Commission is unaware of it.

Beautiful Brother ❤❤
Harshit Ji , keep doing this tremendously good n rich quality work -
Your vlogs certainly match the standards of documentaries by global studio chains..
you have an amazing talent of presentation plus your passion and respect for Uttarakhand and People of Uttarakhand, does show up in your vlogs 🙏
Thanks a ton!
Fabulous recording of culture and history of Kumoan which I visited as a tourist in 1992. Thanks for the subtitles.
Thankyou!
finally someone made a video on the rich heritage of ours, thank you dajyu !
Bro we in nepal dont have migratory villages in winter only in summer nepali lived in goth (jhopadi)
Thankyou for this video Harshit. God bless you brother.
Welcome!
Wonderful ..seriously... I had been to Uttarakhand many times but never imagined the richness of the culture and history..
Meri amma ne bataya tha ek baar mujhe ye sab, wo bolti thi hud Desh se aate the hudi saaman bhechne. So nice to know all this in detail. Amazing video Harshit ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Rajput ka matlab ye nahi ke aap bahar se aaye ho. Uttarakhand ke khas log hamesa se kashtriya mane jate the
Rajput hamare purvaj the hm nahi
True , shaukas are more close to kumaonis, we are kumaoni ,even language is same just a little different dialect , culture, rituals in marriage is same as typical kumaoni
the only difference is that we have mongoloid look ❤
Ab jauljibi mele me traditional dan, pankhi, shawl, chutka nhi milta... Qki Tibet ke janwar ab yaha nhi ate, pehle unke janwar bhotiya (shauka) Village me charte the.. or bhotiya (shauka) unke baal utarte the as a payment. Ye vyapar 1962 ke bad band huwa.. pr ajkl ka uttrakhandi hair cutting ✂️, butcher's mutton chicken, fruits vegetables, automobile mechanic, timber work, cosmetic beauty item shop sabhi ke liye muslim pr dependent hai... 100 rs jyada rent or 10 rs discount ke liye wo aisa krta hai, fir demography change hoti hai, riots hote hain to regret krta hai. Abhi haldwani me kya huwa.... ? Jai uttrakhand, Jai himal.
I am from haldwani and like most my parents to migrated from pahad so to provide us better education and for better health care facilities, do you know in haldwani be have "Johar mahautsav" its celebrated by bhotiya people its like a cultural fair, they serve there traditional food and dance and everything all people are invited and are free to come, haldwani has all type of kumaoni communities from johar valley to almora every type of kumaoni person is here and we have good ammount of bohotiya settlement thanks to that i have many bhotoiya friends as well, even though we all miss our pahad dearly, sometimes i feel that Haldwani serves as a melting point of all kumaoni culture and all different communities become friends and get to know each other is one of the positive and delightful side of the coin, a thing which allows me to see positive in this city when I sadly and angrily criticize govt for not developing our villages and distroying our culture the anger also become directed towards the city I myself am from
Great content brother! Hope there is more to come in future regarding the history of Uttarakhand.
Beautiful depicrion of the history, cukture and business of bhotiya ppl. I felt like i am living it. Beautifully created. Thanks
Hey you are a very good Orator & Thank you so much for the Information Regarding the Uttrakhand....
The line “it took many years to create but took only a year to stopped” was powerful…… even in Arunachal 1962 stopped many things which was aged old, between Arunachal and tibet, now we only hear stories about them. from west to east many tribes are special relation with tibet, that lost and cut off after that war….
Trade is open but border is closed ..😶
Border should open Asap

Simply Excellent 👌🏽
And I am not saying this, because I belong to Johar valley.
I am a big fan, especially of the objective approach you carry.
One Man Army
More power to you ❤
Dr. Pathak's concern is also noteworthy.

I m a Marathi....But something deep inside me is true pahadi...I get a super positive vibe when I see mountains especially the Himalayas...
Actually many marathi people migrated to uttrakhand long ago.

I have been to Munsyari several years ago and was extremely impressed with the people and places in that region. It was far different from what modern Uttarakand modern society is today.
I just loved how simple and sensible you covered ..it's amazing our ancestors life is very important to learn we should just know our roots ..🌹
Bahut mehnat karke banaya hai ye video aapne.I wish, Aap jaldi hi famous ho jao.
Well done Harshit! 👏The effort you put in research and editing your videos is appreciable. Everything is perfect about your videos, the topic you choose, the introduction, dialogues with the background music and the simplified way of explaining the geographical terms with help of maps🙌❤ you've become my favorite RUclipsr.
Thanks a ton!
Thanks!
A very well done documentary ... great Jon in narrating a wonderfully crafted story of our home... Well Done Harshit..

Ur justification is more reasonable
Thanks for clearing it !
2:09 very important point raised, Harshit!
The term _bhotia_ is indeed a misapplied or inappropriate name for the trading communities of the north.
It's very sad that many people within State and even the Tribal Commission is unaware of it.
It is unfortunate indeed.
I have been in Munsiyari in mid January 2024. I came across the details about this illustrious Shauka folks when visited Tribal Musuem there and also with some local guys to know more about Johar and Munsiyari. I am such fascinated with history and culture of this land that, not a single day pass when I dont read or search anything regarding Munsiyari,Milam,Darma. This video is best explaining the details of this land. Thanks and keep going. Best of Luck.
Thanks
The World should support the people of Tibet, We call it's as the Roof of the World. Predominantly a Buddhist Country. People of the world should understand & not waste their money on wars, rather develop such nations. Let's build a better Planet. #. Jai Sri Ram 😊
I only recently travelled extensively in those regions because of my best friend being a Shauka Toliya. Haven’t done the trek through the valley yet but have visited Munsiyari multiple times. Heard a lot of stories about the culture but this documentary just explained everything in a crystal clear manner. Beautifully made! Thank You for sharing and explaining this beautifully rare cultural heritage to us non-Uttarakhandis. Stunning and mysterious are two words that come to my mind when I think of that region. Hope to do the trek to Milam this year. Keep up the good work brother.
Thanks
Well Done Brother. Your videos are amazing and informative. Keep up the good work
Harshit your videos are osm.Kindly make detail video on kumoani panchang .
Lots of best wishes from Ranikhet❤
Amazing video as usual❤
Btw can you consider making a video on our languages as well, and how they are independent languages not dialects, the tag they have with them, their rich history, vocab and grammar. Linguistics is a very interesting topic and it'll be even more interesting if you talk about it.
Lets see what is possible in the future.
Wow, Very mesmerizing presentation ❤ a lot of valuable information are given in this video.
Hats off to your hard work harshit i truly appreciate your work
love your videos..... presentation is really awesome ❤
This is soo beautiful and immersive.. very simple and elegant... Great work 👏
Hello 🙏🏻🌿🌿✨ I totally admire your work. When we study History in schools, the Northern mountain people history is not taught. I'm sure very less percentage of Indians know the History of Northern mountains. It's a great effort that We come to know about such facts of Himachal and Uttarakhand history. I'll always look forward for more such topics. GREAT WORK 👍🏻👍🏻✨✨🙏🏻
Thankyou!
Why I’m crying 🤌🙇
Hi such a great video.. can you please share your reference of historical context and books you refered to make such amazing content on Shaukas. It's super interesting and seems like ocean of knowledge. It would be of great help if you could share material for research. I'd be gald to receive your help. 😊 Thanks.
