Either you are a true fan of Virginia tech or you’ve really done your research, either way your knowledge of their team shines through. Last year I was on ESPN doing some March Madness gambling research when I came across Georgia's statline vs Nebraska (she messed around and got a triple-double that game). Intrigued, I clicked her name expecting to find more stats, bio, awards etc like I would if I were clicking on the name of an athlete in just about any other sport. There was nothing. This lack of info lead to me searching her up on RUclips and eventually finding her and Liz's podcast. From there my appreciation for them, VT WBB and the women's game in general has grown exponentially. I even went to my first women's college basketball game which, coincidentally, was Haley's last game at Stanford.
Shoutout to the NIL for starting to balance the scales of access and equity in college sports. It's been long overdue and there is a long way to go but with platforms like this one and Queens of Cassell, the future is in good hands.

Never heard of Haley Jones, follow VT and Georgia and here I am. But wow, what a terrific interviewer, good stuff, knows all the - to me obscure - names and personalities and surprised at GA's answers to a lot of things, she pays attention to the world around her and as always she's a really good interviewee and character. I've got a lot better feel for our girl now, probably old news but never knew about the practices in NC during covid.

Haley Jones was a great PG for Stanford and won a Natty there. Last year was her first in the WNBA w/ the Atlanta Dream.

@@jjohnson3203 why she lit up when asking GA who'd she like to play with outside of VT, her answer Brink. I should mention there's an hour + long version of this interview on audio.

Things get barely on the news because media and people focus on 1-2 players. For example, in the nBA, there was so many articles, videos, twitter stuff on Wembayama... i mean we focus on individuals in a team sport but everyone fixates on one player, and everyone else is ignored. There is so much focus on Clark that anyone else has headlines or articles down deep in a website. The key thing I truly wish more players, parents, etc would realize that you can't be successful without teammates. People think that 1 person wins a game all by themself and it is NEVEr that way
