Jim's so talented. Basically, an homage to the greatest singer/entertainer of the 60's and 70's bar none. The irony that Sir Tom Jones was knighted isn't lost on me, as he began as a teen singing to coal miners in his small town in Wales, and the Welsch historically hated the English monarchy and tyranny. Tom did the long drive to London for his shot on the BBC, and was told "It's television, you can't just stand and sing." His adaptation to that education from London television reporters made him the world's sex symbol, and consummate singer, leading to "This is Tom Jones", a show I loved as a teen in the US. From "It;s Not Unusual" in 1965 onward, I've loved the great man and his singing and songs.
There will be another tom Jones...of course this tom Jones will always be remembered...can never be forgotten because of his look, voice...the way he moves his hip in a circle...
@@michelleregis6181 The only plastic surgery Tom Jones has had is the fixing of the oft-broken nose of his youth, and that was done around 1966. Taking part in street fights and club boxing matches had ended up breaking Tom's nose a number of times. Once he started making his first real money singing he had a simple rhinoplasty done that fixed the "lean" and removed the slight bump. I think he was ruggedly attractive before the surgery was done, and just as sexy after. Though he'll be 81 soon, Tom is still a sexy man. He has a handsomeness and class in his maturity, and his voice is deeper and richer.
LOL Jim Carrey was absolutely fantastic, I’m sure if TOM saw that of him singing Delilah, and he would be amused and also complemented. Jim did a hilarious but excellent imitation !!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Today this may look dated, but let's remember that this clip of Carrey is from 1983, when he was around 21, and Jones himself was in his early 40's...Still a great song...
The best male singer ever. His powerful masculine voice is a "roaring". The roaring of the Tiger of Wales. Just listen "She´s a lady"...Wow!!! Irrepeatable indeed.
I have loved Tom Jones since I was little, my Mom and I would watch him any time he was on the television. We both just loved him, I still do. Jim Carrey does a great Tom Jones voice and act, he is talented also!
I remember, as a kid, when Tom Jones first came on the scene. He was looked at as a bit racey. It was also predicted that with the intensity in which he belted out a song that he would soon burn out his vocal cords and lose his voice. Boy did he prove them wrong. The man's voice is still spectacular!
Despite his over the top Tom Jones moves..which R hilarious..Jim did a spot on impersonation of Tom's awesome voice! Very very impressive..2 say the least. Wow!!
Saw him in Vegas about 20 years ago-still great. Take a look at Jay Black when he was in his 60s. He was called The Voice. That said, same goes for Tommy.
I worked with a bunch of women when Tom's show was on. The day after his show all of us would talk about Tom & his moves!!! 😂 boy we all loved him!!!❤❤❤
Jim Carrey you are genius. The imitation of the moves and the voice of Tom Jones is fantastic. For me one of the underestimated actors!👍Tom Jones was and is a singer with a fantastic voice👏👏
ellen thayer i heard him speak but cant remember much.... he was short... im 6’2” ..standing very close i towered over him... im thinking he was 5’6” maybe 5’ 7”.... this at Billy Bobs in fort worth texas....maybe mid to late 80s.... great singer! The white shirt he had on was totally soaked with sweat..
ellen thayer if he is.. it wouldn’t be much... ive met a lot of celebrities... its hard to tell how big they are til you mert them... talked to Clint Eastwood a couple times..he towered over me...
@@raysmusic49 He wasn't as tall as you, but he wasn't short. Tom was 5'10" tall and very slim as a young man. In his twenties he definitely had a very sexy V-shape physique (mmm... those broad shoulders, long torso, and narrow waist and hips). And he mostly kept that figure through his 30s and early 40s. In his middle years he sometimes put on some muscle working out. Other times put on a little weight. Now that he's in his later years, he's not quite so tall or as slim as he once was. People do lose some height as they age because of compression of the spine over the years due to gravity. But Tom's still fine looking and fairly trim for his age. He's never lost his charisma. As for all that copious sweating... you'd sweat, too, dancing like he did, singing like he did with all the movements, and interacting with the orchestra or band, plus being under the hot lights. Look out if you were a front row ticket holder, you'd get splattered with the sweat flung off his body as he performed.
Tom has an amazing voice I watched his specials as a child .He was a television regular, I'm glad he is still performing, I think his voice is stronger than Elvis.
@@kakadoodoo3000 Tom Jones' powerful masculine voice is unmatched and plays in a league of his own. His vibrato is also impeccable. Elvis' manager was a wise man not letting the King perform with the roaring of the Tiger of Wales around. The comparison would have been painful indeed.

How funny a bit exaggerated but still appropriate impression of Tom Jones. l laughed hard. And of course Tom Jones with his deep bellowing voice is incomparable.

This is December 2024. While Sir Tom Jones is singularly soulful, spellbinding, superb, sincere, sweet and simply spectacular in singing Delilah, Jim Carrey is hugely hilarious and fun-filled in mimicking legendary Sir Tom's song. 😂😂😅😅❤❤
News for all. Tom Jones has seen Jim Carrey do this in person and he absolutely loves it
