You kept yours close to stock. Good man. Stealth is the way to go. The speed 6 is a sleeper that will perform quite well right out of the box.
Love my speed 6! Easy to mod and fun as hell to drive. I love the look on people's faces when you zoom zoom by them. It's a STI for adults. Rally car with class.
Didn't hear you say you had an upgraded passenger motor mount. One of the best mods you can do. Ditch the hydraulic mount, you won't be sorry.

Known as the Mazda 6 MPS in the UK. I have one on 72,000 miles. I love it! The AWD is good fun in the snow.

Yes, if you have alot of money for repairs, maintenance, fuel, and tires.
It's a fabulous car, but expensive to maintain. It will eat through a set of tires every 8-10K with just normal daily driving. It takes 93 octane only. It has lots of quirks and odd issues. Had mine until about 40K miles, and it was on its 5th set of tires and 3rd O2 sensor (which were not cheap to replace).
Is there anything similar? I want something decently fast, manual, looks decent, I live north so awd would be useful, and in the same price range as the Mazdaspeed 6
@@alanleukuma2699 A Subaru Legacy GT Spec B is probably the closest thing u can get to a Mazdaspeed6. Keep in mind that they might be a little more expensive

I've bought mine with 117k a month ago. After I've repaired all the rust, underbody treatment and so on (she was kept in a parking lot for 2 years in the rain - and my god here in Northern germany it rains), the guy doing the german TUV (technical inspection) almost crashed her because he thought it was a normal mazda 6 and he forgot to stop the braking stand (rollers), the AWD kicked in and he was crapping his pants shouting: WTF man? Why was she pushing me? What kind of mazda 6 is this? Is this all wheel drive?
Stock brakes are good, actually are very good and they easily beat the ones installed in the E39 M5 which has 400hp and more or less the same weight.
Short shifter? I don't know, I am a bimmer guy, in the last seven years I've owned and modified only BMW cars but I wanted something different. After youdrive a BMW, even with M package like my last E36 i've had, this shifter is thight and short!
I wanted to supercharge my old E39 and I found this car, the Mazdaspeed 6/Mazda 6 MPS for a very good price, full service history done at Mazda, I only have to do the clutch this summer (not slipping but it's a bit worn) and a lip kit.
After that I have to think about upgrades on hpfp, complete intake, downpipe, eibach springs, navi to android conversion (4-500usd) kit, complete audio upgrade (BOSE sucks arse) and complete paint job.
The funny thing , on Autobahn when I'm flooring it at 100-130mph, quite a lot of fast cars are moving away and they simply stare at the car. WTF was that? :)

@DVJFan, if it's superficial on the surface by brushing it with an electrical steel brush, zinc the spot with zinc paint and after that underbody sealant with bitumen.
If it's deep, cut, weld a repair steel sheet, zinc, filler, primer, paint and sealant.
@DVJFan, I've done mine all alone. It takes time and you need ramps or an elevator to work better but it can be done by you.
If you referred to wheel arches then yeah, you need to go to body shop but for that you need to paint the whole car. It's cqlled spot painting
@DVJFan, on the wheel arches is design failure, mud stays there, you need to spray bitumen 2-3 layersof coating after repair and it will not rust anymore. My wheel arches rusted again after 1 year with just filling and paint, I will cut them and weld new ones this summer, after that bitumen on thr inside and that's it.
Sadly on all Mazdas you have this problem, doesn't matter if it's new or old.

Blew a rod at 69k ,2nd motor 75k carbon coming out the head gaskets, smoke coming out the exhaust and doesn’t go away , much rust , the hood nose is completely rusted , just things that happen

Hey man, LOVE your wheel set up. I'm looking in to picking up a mazdaspeed6 myself. Would you mind sharing what the size/offset and such you're running on the wheels?
I was running 18x8 37 offset Advan RZ's on 235/40r18 Federal RS-RR's. I'd recommend going 18x8.5 35-45 offset. Something around there. I'm on stock Gen 2 wheels now. Need to do a little update.
I think if you find one in good condition than yeah its a good idea..they should have made the speed3 awd

Speed 6 checks all the boxes for me. It’s basically a WRX, but Mazda lol. I own a C6 Z06 now.

Hey brother, pretty similar specs to mine. I’m running 18x8 +37 with 235/40r18 tires. I have the Federal 595 RS-RR’s, so they do run a little bigger than all seasons.

I done goofed this completely flew over my head when I was looking for cars now I’m stuck with a 9th gen civic Si, not that the Si is a bad car it’s amazing but I really did want a awd turbo 4 door car and I feel so stupid for not remembering about the Mazdaspeed 6 😭
Vick Ramos Lol no worries man. The Civic SI is a great car and very reliable. Mazdaspeed 6’s are hard to come by, but most are clapped out anyways.

What do u guys suggest I check before i buy myself an ms6? Saw one for 6k with 98k miles on it pretty clean havent seen engine tho. Any tips tho? Thanks!
There's a lot of things I'd check for before you purchase an MS6. They're notorious for having VVT/Timing Chain problems, meaning it'll rattle on start up. Check to see what kind of mods have been put... If it's modified, it should have HPFP internals at the very least. Another tip, I would try to get a pre-purchase inspection by a reputable Mazda shop, or any reputable performance shop. If you have anymore questions ask away.

Well, l do know that you shouldn't jack a Mazdaspeed if you want one.Question:- At what power level that one should think about the HPFP internals? What is E30 that you mention?
You can get away with adding an intake and catback exhaust, but anything after that I would advise you to have HPFP internals installed. Maximize your stock fuel system while protecting your engine with HPFP internals. It's all over google! :)
Also, E30 is the ethanol and 91 gas mix that I'm running. In California, we don't have any higher octane than 91, so I mix 4 gallons of E85 and the rest with 91. It boosts the octane. I'm tuned for it! If you have anymore questions, let me know!
The problem on this engine partly is the injection map, partly is the hpfp itself. The limits of the hpfp are showing at around 300hp, if you want to be sure about that keep an eye on AFR, you can do that even with torque and mazdaspeed plugin for 2006-2010 cars.
Many are blowing their engines while flooring them in the same gear. Always avoid flooring it on a tall gear, you can blow up the engine while flooring the car on the 5th or 6th gear from 2500 rpm, when done over one minute long, she will starve, afr will be very lean and that was it, goodbye engine, uncle ROD is here.
Full cold air intake and a fat downpipe should be enough to go up to 300hp even without Cobb Accesport. Keep in mind, or turbo is not the strongest thing in this car, it tends to pass away and the limits on stock turbo are around 340hp.
Enzo TM Good advice :) Except I would suggest if you have a downpipe to make sure you’re actually tuned for it! So a Cobb AP would be necessary.
@@CJDavid-pe9ue , you can get to 300hp without Cobb. Mazdaspeed 3 and 6 are bottlenecked by intake and downpipe. Just a full cold air intake and a good downpipe will give you the "oomph" to get to 300hp without any software mods on 98RON octane. Honestly that intake is a joke, i've had a better intake flow on a BMW M52B20 NA engine and this is a 2.3l FI engine...
Enzo TM Yes, I understand, but for reliability issues it is stupid to run a downpipe on stock tune. I did run a race pipe with stock downpipe before I got a downpipe and tune.
What kind of tips would you give to someone looking to buy one? any known problems?
Looking at pucking up the new project witch is a speed 6 it has slight timing chain noise and been wrecked down the passenger side but thats it and its $200 a month overall price is about 1,250

Depends on mileage.
Anything over 100K is not worth $9.5K like I bought mine. I bought it with 55K miles in 2017. I have 106k now and it’s probably worth $8K at best, but the car market is hot right now!

mr_ bmw60 I would advise you to test drive some! There aren’t many in good condition anymore. The marketplace for Mazdaspeed 6’s also depend on the area you live in.

Nice car! i always wanted the speed6 i had an 04 mazda 6 sport v6 5 speed that i just sold and bought a 07 black mica speed6 that i'm modifying now. the top things i like about it is the turbo and the awd. check out my channel sometime. i did up the rear differential mount and added some gauges.
