Lake Carlos is a 2,605-acre Lake that has a depth of 163 feet. The lake is an amazing place for swimming, boating, camping, and hiking,
Lake Carlos State Park has 17 miles of hiking trails.
There is a wide variety of beauty to take in like colorful and tall-growing native grasslands, along with wildflowers and if you’re lucky, you might see a deer. If you would like a little learning with your hiking, the Maple-Basswood Interpretive Trail takes you through an old-growth forest, complete with signs explaining area ecology.
The trails are well maintained and clean. There are a few minor elevation gains and after a good rain you might need to easily navigate a few mud puddles.
