      Shouldn't we stop calling DHA and EPA just "Omega 3" and instead call them "long chain Omega 3"? You are just going to confuse the general public when you are calling it just "Omega 3", when in fact Omega 3 is actually the the essential Alpha-linolenic acid. Long chain Omega 3 like DHA and EPA is not essential, meaning the body produce it on its own.

      Dr Brad;
      In the study high dose omega 3 presumably hurt because it was rancid, my naturopaths recommend 6 grams with fat, but to complement high omega vegetable oil. If no high vegetable oil no need for 6 grams.

    • @DrBradStanfield
      @DrBradStanfield  3 часа назад +27

      yes, that solves the dosage issue. But what about making sure that the B12 and folate are in their methylated forms?
      Or having Magnesium in the form of Magnesium Taurate?
      Or including TMG?
      Or Hyaluronic Acid?
      Or including Choline (vitamin B4)?
      And Boron?
      And Potassium?
      And NOT having Vitamin A or E?
      I couldn't find such a supplement. Hence why I needed to develop my own, for my own use.

    Supplementing essential nutrients can only be expected to have a positive effect if there is a deficiency. Studies must therefore test subjects for a deficiency at the beginning (vitamin B level, omega-3 index) and check whether the deficiency has been corrected after supplementation. This was not done in a number of studies, so the results are of little significance.

    Remarkable.... but I find it odd that studies in the 2000s didn't have software that tested for these MMSE correlations with benefits of Omega 3. I was in college at the time (physics major) and almost any software I used to perform statistical analysis would easily discover these positive correlations in the data even if I wasn't directly searching... makes me wonder what other ambiguities in past studies could be cleared up merely by having the most basic statistical software, let alone advanced AI, search for other possible correlations that weren't considered in the past.

    What about being in anabolism vs catabolism? Logically it makes sense that the body would want to use omega 3 fats for energy rather than building blocks if energy was scarce. However, most people probably aren't in a negative energy balance, so maybe it's a moot point. A third category could be added where you're in neutral energy balance.

What about the omega 3 one gets from one's diets - from seeds, nuts, etc. Could this additional amount count as too much omega 3?
