This is the second talk I’ve heard from Gareth, the first being focused on Catherine Howard based on his book. I’ve been extremely impressed with his historical research and comprehensive view as well as little details. It brings out so much about the people he’s discussing. It’s wonderful to see Catherine Howard‘s legacy be repaired to some degree, as has queen, Mary I from stereotypes to real people, albeit imperfect. I was quite surprised to learn that, Anne B. is a proud member of a very prestigious Irish noble family. Some thing I had not known, and I was quite intrigued in learning about the Butler’s, and want to learn more. My ancestors hail from Ireland, tho not in the Noble class. they were the ones that left during the hunger. hadAnne Boleyn lived, She possibly might have been more protective of Ireland and Henry’s rapacious attitude and behavior towards that part of his kingdom. and those Butler men were hot is that it? Lol.

Gareth Russell is such an interesting and well spoken historian. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him and highly recommend his book on Catherine Howard "Young and Dammed and Fair". It's superb.

It was, i thought, Boultier. The church is in Glamorgan Wales. Theobald. Theobald was related to st. Theobald of Provins. His father was Arnulf count of Champagne. They were related to the founder of the knights Templar, Hugh of Chamagne.
