EOD player here. My go to for the container is a Grizzly and a CMS. Grizzly fun fact: It heals in a two-step manner. First animation heals health, second animation heals statuses. You can cancel the animation once you get your health back and heal ridiculously fast by using it for just health, cancel, new limb, cancel, and repeat.
Not only that, but the last 3 slots are perfect for a stim case and a docs/ S I C C. Everything you could ever need for a raid, and since CMSs and Grizzlys are dirty fucking cheap, whenever you find something better, just throw them on your rig/backpack. Already a lion is worth more than twice the price of those two together.
I love seeing the difference between Pre-inertia and post-Inertia. When they added it, it's like the game speed hit molasses and it is so better for it.
.366 is slept on big time. Even later in wipe I like to build the Vepr with some decent parts and the AP round just because they hit pretty hard and are always cheap. Or at least they used to be. Plus nobody ever takes the gun from you no matter how built-up it is because people don't want the Veprs. If you can learn to appreciate the taste of the less glamourous workhorse weapons in this game you'll never go hungry.
It's not really slept on, there's just only two guns that take it, and they both kinda suck. The ap ammo is pretty good, but people are certainly aware.
Okay Gigabeef, I'm convinced you're spying on me at this point. I've been using this setup since the 215 was out, originally with EKO rounds (since they were juuust enough to punch through class 3 helmets), and later on with the AP rounds. Don't give the pro tips up so easily! I am also still wearing level 4 armors (mostly) at level 35, don't want to get killed too much! Jokes aside, this is superb advice, very well presented to boot. I especially appreciate the depth and detail you put into these videos. Thank you for your hard work! Let me give some additional information: - Bolt-action rifles *with less than 1 MOA accuracy rating* at 100/100 will be relatively unaffected by low durability in terms of accuracy. You can compare the M700, SV-98, DVL and T-5000 to the Mosin and 215 to see what I mean. The former category is made up of sub-1-MOA rifles, whereas the latter category contains only >1 MOA rifles. If the rifle falls below about 40% durability, however, the penalty starts to become quite noticeable. I'd honestly never use a weapon with less than 55% durability, except the PPSh and Revolver Shotgun (these two cannot malfunction and are close-range weapons, so it's okay to use them even if they're damaged). - The .366 rounds have substantial drop compared to most rifle rounds because the barrel of the weapon firing these rounds (either the 209 or 215) is not rifled (so technically speaking, neither weapon is a "rifle") - they are smoothbore weapons, essentially glorified muskets! The result of the projectile lacking gyroscopic stabilization is a decreased effective range and a higher bullet drop. I'm not sure if the decreased effective range (essentially bullet damage at distance) is properly modeled in EFT, but some tests I've done with scavs seem to indicate that the damage of the projectile falls off substantially past 150m. The drop is also considerable, so a high magnification optic that's been properly zeroed is essential. I recommend the 1p59 and 1p69 (whichever is cheapest on the flea at the time - they're mechanically identical) - the 10x zoom allows for far better pinpoint aiming, and if you do not release the fire button after shooting, you can possibly see where your projectile impacted, so you can adjust your aim. Take note of the relatively low bullet velocity as well - aiming at moving targets is much more challenging with this round. - WARNING! If you try to one-tap someone in the thorax with .366 AP, be EXTRA SURE that you're not shooting them through the arms. I managed to survive TWO AP rounds in this way even while wearing *no armor at all*. My thorax ended up getting blacked out from the heavy bleeding, and I eventually died to a 3rd and final bullet - but the point is that a PMC *will* survive (sometimes?) getting shot in the thorax through the arms even with this high-damage round (90 damage). So aim carefully! Aiming for the head is pretty much always the safer choice. - You can craft the 366 TKM AP rounds at the hideout (Workbench level 2, requires Mechanic LL2), which is a very easy and super-cheap way of getting enough rounds to run this setup consistently. - For sidearms, the SR-1MP with BP rounds, USP with AP rounds and M9 with AP 6.3 rounds are superb and relatively inexpensive. But my personal favorite is a Klin or Kedr with pretty much any bullets you want. Its purpose is to be a close-range hipfire bullet hose to shoot enemies in the face with, and it excels at that. And if you die, it's 12-15k on the Flea Market, so no biggie. You can also use a PPSh from the Flea, since it doesn't really matter if it's damaged (it cannot malfunction). Add a drum magazine for extra laughs and MORE DAKKA. Just remember - don't aim down the sights at close range with bullet-hose type weapons. Hipfire is far faster and more effective. - If you're purely scav hunting, consider not getting a backpack at all, and downgrading to a PACA or even no armor at all. Killing and looting a few scavs pretty much guarantees that you'll get some backpack and armor anyway. This also lets you be a lot lighter for the initial parts of the raid, allowing you to position yourself better in a timely manner. It's not like this setup excels at close-quarters combat anyway, so armor protection is not as much of a priority as when you're using something like an SMG or AR. It goes without saying that you should not go unprotected if you are not very good at killing scavs, since they're quite lethal now (especially the snipers!). - Secure container setup (Alpha): 1) Injector case (just get one, believe me it's worth it) with 2x Morphine 2x Zagustin 2x Propital 1x Regenerative 1x MULE 1x SJ1 1x SJ6 1x Adrenaline (replenish after raids). This leaves 5 slots for any syringes you find in raid, which can easily go up to hundreds of thousands of rubles in value. 2) Docs case (early on - super cheap as a barter from Therapist, and you get one from a Jaeger quest as well) / SICC case (for later) - this can hold all your keys, and also money and coins. The Docs case can also hold information items (intelligence folders, SSDs, diaries etc) which is an easy way to guarantee a profit from the raid. 3) Bullets / High-value quest items. - Expansion items (for Beta container or better): 4) Surv12 kit or CMS kit + Alu Splint - fixing fractures and blacked-out limbs is very, very important. If you can't fit an Alu splint into your secure container, just take two normal splints into your backpack or rig. They're only about 3k combined, so it's a very minor expense compared to, you know, limping for 20 minutes straight. 5) AFAK - You are right in that this is a superb item for the secure container. If you don't have an injector case, this is your best alternative, along with... 6) Ibuprofen/Vaseline/Goldenstar - You need this for "oh shit" situations, or to pre-med when going into extremely hazardous areas. BEWARE! These were recently nerfed, and now cause a *substantial* amount of hydration loss. You *need* to have food and water with you pretty much every raid now, especially if you chug painkillers of any kind. In fact, you can do the dehydration quest with 1 + 1/2 Analgin painkillers now...
This is a treasure trove of information - I've screenshotted all of it. The injector case tips are great - never thought of just bringing it instead of painkillers to give a toolbelt of options to raid.

I love the 205, ever since they introduced .366 AP and buffed EKO pen, I've been using that calibre all the time. Was so happy when they made those Mosin quests 'any' bolt action, this thing is so much cheaper and I love the hard hitting rounds. Doing the bolt action in factory is a hell of a lot easier when you can basically 1 tap a chest with AP. This wipe my start of game loadouts were very often including this and the double barrel shotgun, probably the most fun additions to the early wipe you could ask for. I used to use pistols for ages in early wipes, but when its literally $8k for a brand new double barrel, that makes zero sense :D EDIT: Bwaha commented too early, you mention this exact thing later in the video.
For a little explanation on what is MOA, to sum up, 1 MOA means that you bullet can deviate up to 1 inch (2.34cm) for every 100m travelled, which in Tarkov means that it's going in a random circle of 2.34cm radius around where you shot (where you were aiming when you fired the ammo) So 2 MOA is 2 inches (4,68 cm) etc, and if you have 1 MOA but you shoot at 200m, this is quite equivalent as 2 MOA at 100m Keep going Gigabeef, love ur work :3
So glad you made this, I was on woods and had a VPO loaded with FMJ and took down a Chad with an SVD, level 6 armor, and a thermal scope. VPO is slept on.
Ngl you got lucky then😅 that round basically has a zero percent chance of penetrating level 6. Especially with the first shot. Personally I’ve had more luck with the eko compared to the fmj with .366 rounds
That's literally my 'special' budget sniper build, quests unrelated, I love that setup for the cost I find myself going for a tac 30 more and more with how common they seen to be this wipe

Thank you including the cost of insurance. many build guides fail in that department. I love using the 215, and yes, I get it back minus any optic and/or suppressor. However, I always carry a pistol when I have a bolt-action.
Instead of carrying golden star/ibuprofen in my secure for pain, this wipe I've been using the new Injectors case instead - takes up one slot in your secure, but you can cram it full of morphines as well as other useful stims like propital. Morphine is about the same length as Vaseline, slightly less than Golden Star, and faster and quieter to use than both, and being able to use a propi or one of the green stims when needed, which is rare but sometimes pivotal, is what makes the injector case perfect - gives you that stim toolkit to work with on that one raid in five or ten where you wish you had some.
Don't forget to get at least one Zagustin and Mule - one will save you when you've got 3+ bleeds, the other is for when you're so loaded you can't even move!
It's my 4th wipe and i'm using the vpo with a spectr on it. Still Does the job for me after 2300 hours of playing tarkov. Easy onetaps with the good ammo.

I literally started running this sniper yesterday, best part about it is it can be made very cheaply at level 1 traders, before the flea market is unlocked, without the suppressor.
Until higher levels I cheaper out on meds for my secure container. With a gamma it really helps for profitability to be able to drop an single use splint, IFAK or analgin painkiller in exchange for loot.
MP5k with a short mag fits in your rig and can be bound to a hot key, it's my favorite sidearm and leaves you a slot to quickly equip a looted weapon should the need arise. Great video Gigabeef!

You can get class 4 armored rigs for really cheap, the MMAC barter from ragman is only 50k for a really decent class 4 rig. It actually costs less than the tan 6B, has more space, has a WAY higher effective durability, and it is made of the most repairable material.
Nice. Seems after the 12.12 ballistics rework the VPO-215 and AP-M is on its way to being a "meta-rat-gun" budget loadout. I have a couple in my stash I'm looking forward to running. Also you have gave me things to think about as far as what meds to carry.
i love the vpo-215, i could even just use it bone stock with how its sights are. super cozy gun! .366 AP is your obvious choice, but you can also load EKO for better performance at range (less accuracy debuff, better velocity). Keeping a full stack of bullets in your case and having some spare mags, you can easily take care of scavs at a distance, and do your best to stay out of clumsy close-range fights. AP is also craftable at workbench 2, which is something to keep track of if the flea market ever bans it.
For .366 anything, I use the EKO over the FMJ. (I use the .366 AK, it's the first suppressor fitting AK you can easily get, with Level 1 traders no less)
366 in general is a good round and I like to bring the 209 with ap since it allows me to handle mid to cqc. The fact that if it hits you either your dead or it blacked it out and follow-up shots arent too hard plus having 30 rounds is nice.
@@Gigabeef That and the same reason the 215 is returned often is the round type so i get it back often enough along with akm parts compatibility make it cheap to remake.
If you're a standard account, your secure container is : spare rounds, Keys, injectors case, and a painkiller for the 4th slot. You don't need a CMS kit or splints when you can just hit a yellow or green stim and level up vitality. The painkillers will let you run with broken legs, and the yellow/green stims recover your health lost to sprinting and level your vitality.
I've always liked the APS as my pistol. I was running this loadout for most of last wipe and the APS was usually on the flea for about ~10k including suppressor and stock.
I've been running a similar loadout this wipe for my long range needs. I use the SB47 Ratnik Helmet Barter from Ragman 2, overall 22k roubles. I use whatever armor I can grab, but I also use that new mp43 shotgun Jager offers as my "secondary". It's cheaper than a pistol, and I'm more comfortable using two shells of flechette that I believe is cheaper on the flea this wipe than using pst because I can't get ahold of ap 9x19 easily at my level. I insurance fraud the shotgun whenever I pickup a better weapon, and I always end up getting it back.
I'd say EKO is more cost effective, since it's super cheap from Jaeger and has 30 pen which is more than enough since most people don't have class 4 helmets
One thing I didn't mention because I didn't have time to test it is that eko is actually the default round for the gun... So the zeroing functions correctly. Ap is 170m/s slower which has the potential to mess things up at longer ranges
@Gigabeef Just came across this a bit late, but would like to say it still works great as a load out. The Mosin sniper with basic scope work out cheap as heck and PMC's seldom keep your Mosin rifle if you die, but this build works better for getting one shot quiet kills. This means you don't waste time popping relatively inaccurate shots off and attracting attention. Love one round shooting scavs and *if* I flank them, getting a sneaky headshot on chads and rats. Only level 18 but took down a lvl 37 PMC sniper who was hanging out near Bunker 14 (I fractured my arm so only just back to playing) Keep up the informative videos and maybe see you when you next stream
Still one of my favorite 'kits' of all time. I just recommended you always have a cheap, but familiar pistol with you. Between those 2 weapons, you have 2 different engagement profiles, and its a must that you do not attack when your not in your Zone. This setup really teaches you to Fallback and Reposition to use well. Its not an Assault kit. So avoiding a fight is a win, where if you had some meta gun, the win might be the kill. So know the difference and be OK with that!
My 4 slot Med Kit is CMS, Splints with an auxiliary. Sometimes its a med bag, sometimes is a Propital. Sometimes its ammo. I always pack a CALOK-B on me for the bleeds in my pocket, and not afraid to use 1 slot items bleed fixes as they are very common. The reason I choice Propital over a med bag is I want something that I can do post combat heals while I'm figuring out my exit strategy. I prioritize picking up and going somewhat out of my way for med stuff, so I have lots and not worried about losing them.
This is my to go loadout, I usually run it with PACA, no vest and MBS backpack, I loot any armor or vest or backpack from Scavs or players, It is easy to dump it away for insurance and mostly it comes back, I am still Lvl8 so I am using Pilad scope and EKO ammo, found some AP ammo while looting but EKO is good enough for headshots, managed to kill few players and looted them for better gear using this method
im glad im not the only one enjoying vpo 215, though ive been runnin the EOTech's, ive kiilled many geared and not geared players with it, ap-m is pretty cheap and the load out run is pretty cheap, love it mate!
One small suggestion is to go for the new armored rig that protects the stomach and has 45 hitpoints. if you craft the cordura in your hideout, you can literally barter ragman for a total of about 45k roubles for the armor.
The accuracy info on the caliber helps alot. Ive been using this rifle for quite some time now and have forced myself to only use FMJ because the accuracy penalty made it feel worthless to use on a weapon specifically designed for sniping, but if it really is only a .25 moa difference i really should be using atleast EKO
That tiny accuracy difference is irrelevant, you won't notice the accuracy stat unless you're doing very long range shooting, in which case the .366 isn't going to be great anyway due to its slow speed. I'd imagine the damage drop off isn't great either tbh
@@Sylusssss theyre still really slow, especially for a sniper. the mosin is a bit more expensive but its so much better, and effective rounds dont cost an arm and a leg
When I had an alpha I would just fill it with a grizzly medkit. Great for emergency healing, fixes breaks, fixes heavy bleeds, fixes light bleeds, and lasts several raids. Once you get a few keys, a Salewa, Keychain, and pain meds work well, with a regular splint in the pockets. Once I had a beta container, I'd run Grizzly, Keytool, and injectors. Now that I have a gamma though I usually run AFAK, Injectors, Docs Case, Keytool, Alu splint, CMS, and Dogtag case.
Vpo is my go-to shoreline scav killer as well, but I pack the bottom half of each mag with eko ‘cause I like saving my ap for the odd .366 carbide run. Always great videos, much love mate
I love this gun and use this a lot on woods. Paired with the Pilad , FMJrounds and an APS with RG028 as side arm! 553m sniper scav kill with this setup! 😂
i go off of the assumption that im not putting anything under like 40K a slot n my gamma, for meds i try to to run CMS, IBUprofen, and a grizzly, sure it costs a bunch initially, but the value over multiple raids puts this as more cost effective as the grizzly will end up costing half of an Afak per heal
This is what I was running today, though with Eko rounds because I completely forgot that AP rounds weren't flea banned. Such a powerful round always makes my brain think it's more harshly limited.
I've basically used this loadout for a couple wipes now. However, I now always go in with a double barrel + magnum as my secondary. The DB is soooooooo good and honestly might be one of the most slept on weapons in EFT right now. For 8k, you get a weapon that has the easiest time 1 tapping faces in the game. Firing both shots at the same time makes for such a dense pellet spread that I always have an easy time landing headshots. With the most high end visors and helmets being untradeable and locked behind high trader levels, it's rare to see face shields right now. And if you do come up against a chad, the DB is still perfectly capable of blacking out the legs of your target. Also as it's damage is so burstable, it makes for a great peaking weapon.
@@Gigabeef The "double tap" fire mode is bugged. It doesn't fire both shots at the same time so the second shot is always affected by recoil. Once they fix it it will be a baby KS-23 and I am really looking forward to that. :D
So all else being equal, if we were to substitute a VPO-209 in place of a VPO-215 what kind of [snipable] range reduction are we talking about given the different MOA? (and yes good point about not getting sniper XP) ..reason I am pointing out the VPO-209 is that, playing as scavs, one can exil garbage VPO-209s (non-100% dura) and barter for 100% dura VPO-209s with Mechanic at level 1. (it's hard to ignore Level 1 friendly shopping when Tarkov is so crushingly tough at the beginning) ..so is something fundamentally wrong with VPO-209 even if you were to use it like slow shooter? Inquiring minds wanna know :) P.S. Thank you for producing so much great content about Tarkov..Tarkov really is the Dark Soul of FPSes--and I am glad content creators such as yourself are helping us so much to google EFT to death. Standing on the shoulders of giants here :) P.P.S. I am going to compare VPO-209 and VPO-215 myself now, I am kinda curious too. XD

I think I should have specified more that the 215 is very useful for tarkov shooter too - I wanted to have specifically a 'sniper rifle' so it can be used for those quests etc, but for run of the mill gameplay the 209 is better generally except for this small accuracy difference you've asked about Tarkovs moa is half of 'typical' moa because it refers to the radius of the spread for some reason, so 215 at 1.8 moa with ap 366 means roughly 3.6 inches diameter pattern at 100m, and the 209 will be more like 5.2 inches diameter. So after 100m it becomes meaningful enough to miss a headshot with the 209 that you'd make with the 215. Its a small difference, I agree with you that the 209 is a better gun, tiny bit more expensive though :)
Being an Alpha-Container player I usually carry a CMS-kit, either goldenstar/ibu/vaseline and one alu splint inside. If I need space for a stack of expensive ammo or a quest-key, the splint goes into the pockets/rig :D
For the record, I always bring a sidearm. Even if I'm running a fully auto firearm. The times my pistol has gotten me out of a jam is more than you'd think..
tip for alpha containers: you can put a cms in along with ammo and AFAK/IFAK and use one analgen pk and 2 regular splints in your pockets. This should cover all senarios.
The modern 1911 with is currently selling for around 10k has great true glow irons much like the 5.7, takes 11 round mags, can use .45 ap on the cheap, and is a holder for flashlights you find in raid. I would highly recommend it as a secondary along with 1 extra mag for kills on players close range. As for meds I would highly recommend using a ifak and hemostat for around 14k total cost and it handles all bleeds and a majority of healing situations for very little space required, maybe throw in a adrenaline for a quick hit if you get caught out and need a pain killer.
running "Shotty Sniper" with this thing sounds like it'd be incredibly fun. I can craft AP 366 now, will definitely git this a try with a revolver shotty full of flechette

Unless hunting for shooter born in heaven, I would say the 209 is the better choice due to the cqc capabilities to fire from hip with a laser. It costs more tho and doesn't level sniper skill.
i just started playing tarkov this wipe and this has been my most successful gun so far alongside the suppressed ump. i personally prefer pairing the 215 with the vomz pilad 4x32.
Personally for meds I bring a grizzly in my container and painkillers in my pocket, I have standard edition and cms is a bit pricey so I dont bring them most of the time, if I'm going on an extended raid where I'll need one i bring a salewa and cms, with painkillers in my pockets once again
Slight change I would do, especially since that Rig is limited to 3 per reset and you'd be better served saving that for times you'll be in closer range and using a gun with 2 slot magazines. I personally use an armored vest either the t4 ceramic or the press t3 and a bank robber This keeps you safe from the scavs and saves your money for cqc
Yeah can do for sure, I pretty much don't bother with class 3 as soon as I can, 4 is just so much better once you can get the cheap rigs from ragman :)
I literally just watched this before going into a scav raid and during my rat run I came across a guy using this exact loadout. Unfortunately for him he failed to take the advice to take a sidearm and when it comes to close range chaos in the thick of the forest my double barrel boomstick was a lot more effective than his 4x sniper. Made out with the lot of it including some .366 armour piercing which is nice since I can't buy it yet.
I dont use the compact mounts since you need PK lvl3 or buy those from 20 to 50k, which is annoying cuz not many people like the scopes that go on too of it, I didnt know you can use that 3x-10x, if you want a solid pistol to back u up, you can get a shrimp for a blue gun powder, and 19 rounds of bt or ps which I think is the same price as 366 ap
You don't need anything other than Jaeger, honestly - just get an Umka and paca, and run EKO. I've been doing this since level 2. This is, hands-down, the best eco-kit in the beginning. EDIT: also, starter EOD Grizzly kit in the pouch with a CMS kit and some spare roubles for car extracts lol
Nice video man, however I prefer the mosin sniper that you can unlock at lvl 15 (prapor) then to add the mosin scope and suppressor from the flea marker. That is gonna be a bit more expensive than this .366 rifle... But SNB ammo penetrates EVERYTHING
So my friend, as a rat Player i would suggest you to put the injector Case into your Gamma. It will fit a few morphine and some other useful Injectors. If you manage to loot some you will also have them stored for free in secure container. You will never need to take any pain meds into a raid again and you can have a mule injector in there as well incase you find 2 Dead Chads and need to run heavy weight. I personally go Hunter (15k Flea) Pso 13K Flea( + 2 10 Round Mags filled with m80) Will end up at about 15k for mags and ammo. Which is about 43-50k depends on the time you buy it for gun and ammo and the range scope. Silencer goes for 30-50k also depends on the time. I usually pick them at around 35k on average will bring my setup to the same price as yours. I pair it also with level 4 rig and cheap headset. (Usually Sports Headset since it mostly also comes back) For meds i put 1 healing med into pockets or rig (something that is left used ifak or cheese or car kit, used not found in raid salewa) and i put 1 splint + 1 esmarch in pocket. Like you said the Armor is always coming back and the headset 7 out of 10 times as well. I would sugggest using cheap level 3 helmet as well. Mostly coming back as well since they are only 7-10k not found in raid. They helped me a lot already. If i have none i go without like you. The Hunter is the most undervalued gun in the game and it is funny that most people never buy it. Ive seen some with 10 round mag in them for 13-15k on flea and for more than a min no1 bought them. Every level 4 is a 2 hit and even level 5 goes down in 3-4 hits most lf the time 3. You will have no problem with headshots until class 5 (i use m62 now for that case)
Second Tip as soon as you kill scav, player or whatever you get hands on new level 4 rig or helmet ditch urs ans take the one you found. Will bring you always back nice armor in insurance.
It's because hunters with low dura are super in accurate and don't hit on target at range! Agree with the injector case I'm using it now and it's amazing!
For min max I like injection case. You theoretically don’t need any other meds beyond surgery. If it’s a smaller map like customs you can exfil without fixing limbs. Propitol 17k or less will fully heal and zags will remove bleeds 20k. I still usually bring hemo + ifak + cms since they’re very cheap if you find a better item to swap. My point is the injector case has made me not care so much about meds, few raids I’ve forgotten to bring anything and the injector case carries me if anything goes south. Usually stealing meds from other players anyway. Personally tho I do not trust 366. It is good budget at least on paper but I prefer comfort of snb or even lps mosin.
2.25 moa is tiny, that's 2 inches/5cm at 100meters - a head is about 10cm across, so you're not going to have an issue with the weapons accuracy until 200m or so.
As much as I love VPO-215 I wouldn't call it a sniper. Yes you can land a 300m headshot - but "can" is the big keyword here... still it IS the most accurate gun for .366TKM. Also, unless you're adamant about 2.5x monstr, 3.5 and 4.0 ACOGs are cheaper on the same mount.

EOD player here. My go to for the container is a Grizzly and a CMS. Grizzly fun fact: It heals in a two-step manner. First animation heals health, second animation heals statuses. You can cancel the animation once you get your health back and heal ridiculously fast by using it for just health, cancel, new limb, cancel, and repeat.
Not only that, but the last 3 slots are perfect for a stim case and a docs/ S I C C. Everything you could ever need for a raid, and since CMSs and Grizzlys are dirty fucking cheap, whenever you find something better, just throw them on your rig/backpack. Already a lion is worth more than twice the price of those two together.
this is something many dont consider with meds, a car medkit can stop light bleeds but in one heal animation its either fixing a bleed or healing you

.366 is slept on big time. Even later in wipe I like to build the Vepr with some decent parts and the AP round just because they hit pretty hard and are always cheap. Or at least they used to be. Plus nobody ever takes the gun from you no matter how built-up it is because people don't want the Veprs. If you can learn to appreciate the taste of the less glamourous workhorse weapons in this game you'll never go hungry.

Okay Gigabeef, I'm convinced you're spying on me at this point. I've been using this setup since the 215 was out, originally with EKO rounds (since they were juuust enough to punch through class 3 helmets), and later on with the AP rounds. Don't give the pro tips up so easily! I am also still wearing level 4 armors (mostly) at level 35, don't want to get killed too much!
Jokes aside, this is superb advice, very well presented to boot. I especially appreciate the depth and detail you put into these videos. Thank you for your hard work!
Let me give some additional information:
- Bolt-action rifles *with less than 1 MOA accuracy rating* at 100/100 will be relatively unaffected by low durability in terms of accuracy. You can compare the M700, SV-98, DVL and T-5000 to the Mosin and 215 to see what I mean. The former category is made up of sub-1-MOA rifles, whereas the latter category contains only >1 MOA rifles. If the rifle falls below about 40% durability, however, the penalty starts to become quite noticeable. I'd honestly never use a weapon with less than 55% durability, except the PPSh and Revolver Shotgun (these two cannot malfunction and are close-range weapons, so it's okay to use them even if they're damaged).
- The .366 rounds have substantial drop compared to most rifle rounds because the barrel of the weapon firing these rounds (either the 209 or 215) is not rifled (so technically speaking, neither weapon is a "rifle") - they are smoothbore weapons, essentially glorified muskets! The result of the projectile lacking gyroscopic stabilization is a decreased effective range and a higher bullet drop. I'm not sure if the decreased effective range (essentially bullet damage at distance) is properly modeled in EFT, but some tests I've done with scavs seem to indicate that the damage of the projectile falls off substantially past 150m. The drop is also considerable, so a high magnification optic that's been properly zeroed is essential. I recommend the 1p59 and 1p69 (whichever is cheapest on the flea at the time - they're mechanically identical) - the 10x zoom allows for far better pinpoint aiming, and if you do not release the fire button after shooting, you can possibly see where your projectile impacted, so you can adjust your aim. Take note of the relatively low bullet velocity as well - aiming at moving targets is much more challenging with this round.
- WARNING! If you try to one-tap someone in the thorax with .366 AP, be EXTRA SURE that you're not shooting them through the arms. I managed to survive TWO AP rounds in this way even while wearing *no armor at all*. My thorax ended up getting blacked out from the heavy bleeding, and I eventually died to a 3rd and final bullet - but the point is that a PMC *will* survive (sometimes?) getting shot in the thorax through the arms even with this high-damage round (90 damage). So aim carefully! Aiming for the head is pretty much always the safer choice.
- You can craft the 366 TKM AP rounds at the hideout (Workbench level 2, requires Mechanic LL2), which is a very easy and super-cheap way of getting enough rounds to run this setup consistently.
- For sidearms, the SR-1MP with BP rounds, USP with AP rounds and M9 with AP 6.3 rounds are superb and relatively inexpensive. But my personal favorite is a Klin or Kedr with pretty much any bullets you want. Its purpose is to be a close-range hipfire bullet hose to shoot enemies in the face with, and it excels at that. And if you die, it's 12-15k on the Flea Market, so no biggie. You can also use a PPSh from the Flea, since it doesn't really matter if it's damaged (it cannot malfunction). Add a drum magazine for extra laughs and MORE DAKKA. Just remember - don't aim down the sights at close range with bullet-hose type weapons. Hipfire is far faster and more effective.
- If you're purely scav hunting, consider not getting a backpack at all, and downgrading to a PACA or even no armor at all. Killing and looting a few scavs pretty much guarantees that you'll get some backpack and armor anyway. This also lets you be a lot lighter for the initial parts of the raid, allowing you to position yourself better in a timely manner. It's not like this setup excels at close-quarters combat anyway, so armor protection is not as much of a priority as when you're using something like an SMG or AR. It goes without saying that you should not go unprotected if you are not very good at killing scavs, since they're quite lethal now (especially the snipers!).
- Secure container setup (Alpha):
1) Injector case (just get one, believe me it's worth it) with 2x Morphine 2x Zagustin 2x Propital 1x Regenerative 1x MULE 1x SJ1 1x SJ6 1x Adrenaline (replenish after raids). This leaves 5 slots for any syringes you find in raid, which can easily go up to hundreds of thousands of rubles in value.
2) Docs case (early on - super cheap as a barter from Therapist, and you get one from a Jaeger quest as well) / SICC case (for later) - this can hold all your keys, and also money and coins. The Docs case can also hold information items (intelligence folders, SSDs, diaries etc) which is an easy way to guarantee a profit from the raid.
3) Bullets / High-value quest items.
- Expansion items (for Beta container or better):
4) Surv12 kit or CMS kit + Alu Splint - fixing fractures and blacked-out limbs is very, very important. If you can't fit an Alu splint into your secure container, just take two normal splints into your backpack or rig. They're only about 3k combined, so it's a very minor expense compared to, you know, limping for 20 minutes straight.
5) AFAK - You are right in that this is a superb item for the secure container. If you don't have an injector case, this is your best alternative, along with...
6) Ibuprofen/Vaseline/Goldenstar - You need this for "oh shit" situations, or to pre-med when going into extremely hazardous areas. BEWARE! These were recently nerfed, and now cause a *substantial* amount of hydration loss. You *need* to have food and water with you pretty much every raid now, especially if you chug painkillers of any kind. In fact, you can do the dehydration quest with 1 + 1/2 Analgin painkillers now...

I love the 205, ever since they introduced .366 AP and buffed EKO pen, I've been using that calibre all the time. Was so happy when they made those Mosin quests 'any' bolt action, this thing is so much cheaper and I love the hard hitting rounds. Doing the bolt action in factory is a hell of a lot easier when you can basically 1 tap a chest with AP. This wipe my start of game loadouts were very often including this and the double barrel shotgun, probably the most fun additions to the early wipe you could ask for. I used to use pistols for ages in early wipes, but when its literally $8k for a brand new double barrel, that makes zero sense :D

For a little explanation on what is MOA, to sum up, 1 MOA means that you bullet can deviate up to 1 inch (2.34cm) for every 100m travelled, which in Tarkov means that it's going in a random circle of 2.34cm radius around where you shot (where you were aiming when you fired the ammo)
So 2 MOA is 2 inches (4,68 cm) etc, and if you have 1 MOA but you shoot at 200m, this is quite equivalent as 2 MOA at 100m

Thank you including the cost of insurance. many build guides fail in that department. I love using the 215, and yes, I get it back minus any optic and/or suppressor. However, I always carry a pistol when I have a bolt-action.
Instead of carrying golden star/ibuprofen in my secure for pain, this wipe I've been using the new Injectors case instead - takes up one slot in your secure, but you can cram it full of morphines as well as other useful stims like propital. Morphine is about the same length as Vaseline, slightly less than Golden Star, and faster and quieter to use than both, and being able to use a propi or one of the green stims when needed, which is rare but sometimes pivotal, is what makes the injector case perfect - gives you that stim toolkit to work with on that one raid in five or ten where you wish you had some.
I actually only just bought one and I agree it nuts! So good
Don't forget to get at least one Zagustin and Mule - one will save you when you've got 3+ bleeds, the other is for when you're so loaded you can't even move!

I literally started running this sniper yesterday, best part about it is it can be made very cheaply at level 1 traders, before the flea market is unlocked, without the suppressor.

Until higher levels I cheaper out on meds for my secure container. With a gamma it really helps for profitability to be able to drop an single use splint, IFAK or analgin painkiller in exchange for loot.
MP5k with a short mag fits in your rig and can be bound to a hot key, it's my favorite sidearm and leaves you a slot to quickly equip a looted weapon should the need arise. Great video Gigabeef!

You can get class 4 armored rigs for really cheap, the MMAC barter from ragman is only 50k for a really decent class 4 rig. It actually costs less than the tan 6B, has more space, has a WAY higher effective durability, and it is made of the most repairable material.

i love the vpo-215, i could even just use it bone stock with how its sights are. super cozy gun! .366 AP is your obvious choice, but you can also load EKO for better performance at range (less accuracy debuff, better velocity). Keeping a full stack of bullets in your case and having some spare mags, you can easily take care of scavs at a distance, and do your best to stay out of clumsy close-range fights. AP is also craftable at workbench 2, which is something to keep track of if the flea market ever bans it.
I use it bare for shooter 3, I agree the irons are super nice
For .366 anything, I use the EKO over the FMJ. (I use the .366 AK, it's the first suppressor fitting AK you can easily get, with Level 1 traders no less)

366 in general is a good round and I like to bring the 209 with ap since it allows me to handle mid to cqc. The fact that if it hits you either your dead or it blacked it out and follow-up shots arent too hard plus having 30 rounds is nice.

If you're a standard account, your secure container is : spare rounds, Keys, injectors case, and a painkiller for the 4th slot.
You don't need a CMS kit or splints when you can just hit a yellow or green stim and level up vitality. The painkillers will let you run with broken legs, and the yellow/green stims recover your health lost to sprinting and level your vitality.
I've always liked the APS as my pistol. I was running this loadout for most of last wipe and the APS was usually on the flea for about ~10k including suppressor and stock.
I've been running a similar loadout this wipe for my long range needs. I use the SB47 Ratnik Helmet Barter from Ragman 2, overall 22k roubles. I use whatever armor I can grab, but I also use that new mp43 shotgun Jager offers as my "secondary". It's cheaper than a pistol, and I'm more comfortable using two shells of flechette that I believe is cheaper on the flea this wipe than using pst because I can't get ahold of ap 9x19 easily at my level. I insurance fraud the shotgun whenever I pickup a better weapon, and I always end up getting it back.
I'd say EKO is more cost effective, since it's super cheap from Jaeger and has 30 pen which is more than enough since most people don't have class 4 helmets
One thing I didn't mention because I didn't have time to test it is that eko is actually the default round for the gun... So the zeroing functions correctly. Ap is 170m/s slower which has the potential to mess things up at longer ranges
@Gigabeef Just came across this a bit late, but would like to say it still works great as a load out. The Mosin sniper with basic scope work out cheap as heck and PMC's seldom keep your Mosin rifle if you die, but this build works better for getting one shot quiet kills. This means you don't waste time popping relatively inaccurate shots off and attracting attention.
Love one round shooting scavs and *if* I flank them, getting a sneaky headshot on chads and rats. Only level 18 but took down a lvl 37 PMC sniper who was hanging out near Bunker 14
(I fractured my arm so only just back to playing)

The true hidden gem is the 3.5x ACOG. If you can hip fire, you can use it on everything. < $20k
Still one of my favorite 'kits' of all time. I just recommended you always have a cheap, but familiar pistol with you. Between those 2 weapons, you have 2 different engagement profiles, and its a must that you do not attack when your not in your Zone. This setup really teaches you to Fallback and Reposition to use well. Its not an Assault kit. So avoiding a fight is a win, where if you had some meta gun, the win might be the kill. So know the difference and be OK with that!
My 4 slot Med Kit is CMS, Splints with an auxiliary. Sometimes its a med bag, sometimes is a Propital. Sometimes its ammo. I always pack a CALOK-B on me for the bleeds in my pocket, and not afraid to use 1 slot items bleed fixes as they are very common. The reason I choice Propital over a med bag is I want something that I can do post combat heals while I'm figuring out my exit strategy. I prioritize picking up and going somewhat out of my way for med stuff, so I have lots and not worried about losing them.

This is my to go loadout, I usually run it with PACA, no vest and MBS backpack, I loot any armor or vest or backpack from Scavs or players, It is easy to dump it away for insurance and mostly it comes back, I am still Lvl8 so I am using Pilad scope and EKO ammo, found some AP ammo while looting but EKO is good enough for headshots, managed to kill few players and looted them for better gear using this method
Eko is good for precision I agree, the weapon is actually zeroed for eko so it hits exactly where the zeroing says it will
used the VPO-215 exclusively for a while on woods and interchange with a tac-30 scope. great for leveling sniper skill and killing things

One small suggestion is to go for the new armored rig that protects the stomach and has 45 hitpoints. if you craft the cordura in your hideout, you can literally barter ragman for a total of about 45k roubles for the armor.

Ive been using this rifle for quite some time now and have forced myself to only use FMJ because the accuracy penalty made it feel worthless to use on a weapon specifically designed for sniping, but if it really is only a .25 moa difference i really should be using atleast EKO
That tiny accuracy difference is irrelevant, you won't notice the accuracy stat unless you're doing very long range shooting, in which case the .366 isn't going to be great anyway due to its slow speed. I'd imagine the damage drop off isn't great either tbh

When I had an alpha I would just fill it with a grizzly medkit. Great for emergency healing, fixes breaks, fixes heavy bleeds, fixes light bleeds, and lasts several raids. Once you get a few keys, a Salewa, Keychain, and pain meds work well, with a regular splint in the pockets.
Once I had a beta container, I'd run Grizzly, Keytool, and injectors.
Now that I have a gamma though I usually run AFAK, Injectors, Docs Case, Keytool, Alu splint, CMS, and Dogtag case.
Vpo is my go-to shoreline scav killer as well, but I pack the bottom half of each mag with eko ‘cause I like saving my ap for the odd .366 carbide run. Always great videos, much love mate

i go off of the assumption that im not putting anything under like 40K a slot n my gamma, for meds i try to to run CMS, IBUprofen, and a grizzly, sure it costs a bunch initially, but the value over multiple raids puts this as more cost effective as the grizzly will end up costing half of an Afak per heal
This is what I was running today, though with Eko rounds because I completely forgot that AP rounds weren't flea banned. Such a powerful round always makes my brain think it's more harshly limited.

Standard user here: I run stack of ammo, ibupofen, AFAK/IFAK, and CALOK-B.
I've basically used this loadout for a couple wipes now. However, I now always go in with a double barrel + magnum as my secondary. The DB is soooooooo good and honestly might be one of the most slept on weapons in EFT right now. For 8k, you get a weapon that has the easiest time 1 tapping faces in the game. Firing both shots at the same time makes for such a dense pellet spread that I always have an easy time landing headshots. With the most high end visors and helmets being untradeable and locked behind high trader levels, it's rare to see face shields right now. And if you do come up against a chad, the DB is still perfectly capable of blacking out the legs of your target. Also as it's damage is so burstable, it makes for a great peaking weapon.
I'm still trying to make it work properly for me, the second shot seems to go a bit high but it's such insane value I agree!
@@Gigabeef The "double tap" fire mode is bugged. It doesn't fire both shots at the same time so the second shot is always affected by recoil.
Once they fix it it will be a baby KS-23 and I am really looking forward to that. :D

injector case is best thing about this patch. Carry as many sj6s, propitols, morphines, ETGs, etc. as you want.
So all else being equal, if we were to substitute a VPO-209 in place of a VPO-215 what kind of [snipable] range reduction are we talking about given the different MOA? (and yes good point about not getting sniper XP)
..reason I am pointing out the VPO-209 is that, playing as scavs, one can exil garbage VPO-209s (non-100% dura) and barter for 100% dura VPO-209s with Mechanic at level 1. (it's hard to ignore Level 1 friendly shopping when Tarkov is so crushingly tough at the beginning)
..so is something fundamentally wrong with VPO-209 even if you were to use it like slow shooter? Inquiring minds wanna know :)

I think I should have specified more that the 215 is very useful for tarkov shooter too - I wanted to have specifically a 'sniper rifle' so it can be used for those quests etc, but for run of the mill gameplay the 209 is better generally except for this small accuracy difference you've asked about
Tarkovs moa is half of 'typical' moa because it refers to the radius of the spread for some reason, so 215 at 1.8 moa with ap 366 means roughly 3.6 inches diameter pattern at 100m, and the 209 will be more like 5.2 inches diameter. So after 100m it becomes meaningful enough to miss a headshot with the 209 that you'd make with the 215.
Its a small difference, I agree with you that the 209 is a better gun, tiny bit more expensive though :)

Being an Alpha-Container player I usually carry a CMS-kit, either goldenstar/ibu/vaseline and one alu splint inside. If I need space for a stack of expensive ammo or a quest-key, the splint goes into the pockets/rig :D

tip for alpha containers: you can put a cms in along with ammo and AFAK/IFAK and use one analgen pk and 2 regular splints in your pockets. This should cover all senarios.

The modern 1911 with is currently selling for around 10k has great true glow irons much like the 5.7, takes 11 round mags, can use .45 ap on the cheap, and is a holder for flashlights you find in raid. I would highly recommend it as a secondary along with 1 extra mag for kills on players close range. As for meds I would highly recommend using a ifak and hemostat for around 14k total cost and it handles all bleeds and a majority of healing situations for very little space required, maybe throw in a adrenaline for a quick hit if you get caught out and need a pain killer.

vpo with .366 since day one. all headshots and regular scope meaning the pilad scope easy kills easy w everyone slept on it now look at all of you using it i love it.

Unless hunting for shooter born in heaven, I would say the 209 is the better choice due to the cqc capabilities to fire from hip with a laser. It costs more tho and doesn't level sniper skill.

i just started playing tarkov this wipe and this has been my most successful gun so far alongside the suppressed ump. i personally prefer pairing the 215 with the vomz pilad 4x32.

Personally for meds I bring a grizzly in my container and painkillers in my pocket, I have standard edition and cms is a bit pricey so I dont bring them most of the time, if I'm going on an extended raid where I'll need one i bring a salewa and cms, with painkillers in my pockets once again
Slight change I would do, especially since that Rig is limited to 3 per reset and you'd be better served saving that for times you'll be in closer range and using a gun with 2 slot magazines. I personally use an armored vest either the t4 ceramic or the press t3 and a bank robber This keeps you safe from the scavs and saves your money for cqc
Yeah can do for sure, I pretty much don't bother with class 3 as soon as I can, 4 is just so much better once you can get the cheap rigs from ragman :)

I literally just watched this before going into a scav raid and during my rat run I came across a guy using this exact loadout. Unfortunately for him he failed to take the advice to take a sidearm and when it comes to close range chaos in the thick of the forest my double barrel boomstick was a lot more effective than his 4x sniper. Made out with the lot of it including some .366 armour piercing which is nice since I can't buy it yet.

I dont use the compact mounts since you need PK lvl3 or buy those from 20 to 50k, which is annoying cuz not many people like the scopes that go on too of it, I didnt know you can use that 3x-10x, if you want a solid pistol to back u up, you can get a shrimp for a blue gun powder, and 19 rounds of bt or ps which I think is the same price as 366 ap

You don't need anything other than Jaeger, honestly - just get an Umka and paca, and run EKO. I've been doing this since level 2. This is, hands-down, the best eco-kit in the beginning.
EDIT: also, starter EOD Grizzly kit in the pouch with a CMS kit and some spare roubles for car extracts lol
Nice video man, however I prefer the mosin sniper that you can unlock at lvl 15 (prapor) then to add the mosin scope and suppressor from the flea marker.

So my friend,
as a rat Player i would suggest you to put the injector Case into your Gamma. It will fit a few morphine and some other useful Injectors. If you manage to loot some you will also have them stored for free in secure container. You will never need to take any pain meds into a raid again and you can have a mule injector in there as well incase you find 2 Dead Chads and need to run heavy weight.
I personally go Hunter (15k Flea) Pso 13K Flea( + 2 10 Round Mags filled with m80) Will end up at about 15k for mags and ammo. Which is about 43-50k depends on the time you buy it for gun and ammo and the range scope. Silencer goes for 30-50k also depends on the time. I usually pick them at around 35k on average will bring my setup to the same price as yours. I pair it also with level 4 rig and cheap headset. (Usually Sports Headset since it mostly also comes back)
For meds i put 1 healing med into pockets or rig (something that is left used ifak or cheese or car kit, used not found in raid salewa) and i put 1 splint + 1 esmarch in pocket. Like you said the Armor is always coming back and the headset 7 out of 10 times as well. I would sugggest using cheap level 3 helmet as well. Mostly coming back as well since they are only 7-10k not found in raid. They helped me a lot already. If i have none i go without like you.
The Hunter is the most undervalued gun in the game and it is funny that most people never buy it. Ive seen some with 10 round mag in them for 13-15k on flea and for more than a min no1 bought them. Every level 4 is a 2 hit and even level 5 goes down in 3-4 hits most lf the time 3. You will have no problem with headshots until class 5 (i use m62 now for that case)
Second Tip as soon as you kill scav, player or whatever you get hands on new level 4 rig or helmet ditch urs ans take the one you found. Will bring you always back nice armor in insurance.
It's because hunters with low dura are super in accurate and don't hit on target at range!

For min max I like injection case. You theoretically don’t need any other meds beyond surgery. If it’s a smaller map like customs you can exfil without fixing limbs. Propitol 17k or less will fully heal and zags will remove bleeds 20k. I still usually bring hemo + ifak + cms since they’re very cheap if you find a better item to swap. My point is the injector case has made me not care so much about meds, few raids I’ve forgotten to bring anything and the injector case carries me if anything goes south. Usually stealing meds from other players anyway.
Personally tho I do not trust 366. It is good budget at least on paper but I prefer comfort of snb or even lps mosin.

2.25 moa is tiny, that's 2 inches/5cm at 100meters - a head is about 10cm across, so you're not going to have an issue with the weapons accuracy until 200m or so.
Believe tarkovs value is radius so should be 2x the number you see in game for 'regular' moa, but still yeah it's not bad most of the time
As much as I love VPO-215 I wouldn't call it a sniper. Yes you can land a 300m headshot - but "can" is the big keyword here... still it IS the most accurate gun for .366TKM. Also, unless you're adamant about 2.5x monstr, 3.5 and 4.0 ACOGs are cheaper on the same mount.
Ha I kinda meant in the tarkov sense, there aren't many 'sniper' weapons that let you do tarkov shooter etc, should have been more clear about that I agree :)
