Isn't it time the government categorize "KTV" as family KTV and "dirty" KTV as nightclub?
Cannot really call it a nightclub, cos then it’s the same category as zouk and all those. But yah definitely needs to be differentiated from Teo Heng cuz can’t have this sort of bad stigma attached to the more innocent ktvs
It unfair to Teo Heng. Teo Heng is a good venue and business operator for decent ppls to gather socially before Covid happen.

True. Unfair to operators of Teo Heng~ a family friendly entertainment venue. My friends & I have been to their different outlets where only soft drinks are available . Definitely no liquor. Most definitely NO HOSTESSES 😬. K~Box, Party World …. are also decent places.
Students love and support Teo Heng alot!!!

My understanding has always been that Teo Heng, Partyworld these kind of clean fun is called karaoke. The Lup Sap one with hostess hanky Panky is called KTV or nightclub. Don’t know why now everybody lumps them together ......

Common sense already tell you that no man will pay ktv price to go ktv to practice safe distancing with the hostesses there.
There’s no justice if these KTV operators are not severely dealt with. Not only must they be punished, but it’s extremely important for Singaporeans to see that they are punished!
Teo Heng defunct Party World should be classified as Kara Always Ok! Differentiate from Night club KTVs.

Totally agree to what the Mosaic guy said. Its still 'ok' if there's no pandemic happening. But for now, the whole nation is working so hard to keep the virus under control but some people just squandered it away. Many such people will always have this mentality : I won't be so lucky to be infected by the virus one lah!

You can identify from their doors. If it’s plastered with pictures to let no light in or out, it’s not primarily a singing place.
Same for massage parlors.

I would encourage @MothershipSG to cover more topics on these KTV and vice activities around central Singapore to bring awareness to the public and hopefully Gov take a serious action this time. I was a resident in Selegie area and have seen plenty of such unlawful activities, yet no effective actions was taken by Gov despite their raids(massage parlor especially). Shophouses in Jalan Besar is the next growing cluster that wasn't taken down yet.
Thanks to KTV. Pity those honest F&B businessowners are affected.. please explain as to how on earth govt can allow social visit pass? Aka "returning Singaporeans" or "PRs"? Please do enforce rules fairly and justifically.

It's not easy to separate them, as in d fore front it may appears to be clean but u never know what is happening behind in d amidst of d dim lights.

I always use karaoke lounge to differentiate from KTV. KTV, for me, is a term for the la Sump one. No choice, some people need women and if got spare cash, la sump SPAs meet their needs. VIPs like school principals and executives with high income may also be possible customers. Like that one some years ago, having paid sex with a minor.
Our government agencies should re-look at the permits & areas given to operate KTVs. Yonks ago i recalled certain areas were designated eg Keong Siak Street, Desker Rd or Geylang. I noticed many KTVs always operate next to a so called SPA.
I go there purely for international culture exchange, very educational one after one session I became a cosmopolitan Liao really I neh bluff you one

SG need a hugh tax incomes in property tax,Coe for cars and foreign worker levy to pay for their defence ie Army and Navy ,Police force ,ICA staffs ,Parliaments ,civil courts and Changi prison .

KTVs is a vague term. It is good to classified clearly as Karaoke or Night Club. Decent people will go to Karaoke eg like Teo Heng and chi go peh want to go night clubs. Activities involve are very different. With covid-19 spreading so rapidly, it is a crucial to stop such activities esp in night clubs.

It is not about the categorisation of the KTVs. It is about the concern that follows the reemergence of Covid-19 following the patronage there.
Covid 19 is not the only thing one may contract at KTVs if you get my drift

2. Those with hostesses should not be classified as KTV. They are actually night clubs. These should be closely monitored
