This has to be the most patriotic Lupang Hinirang I've ever seen. The passion in the instrumental, the patriotism in singing, there's something unrivalled about it from other variations...
This is from the University of the Philippines rendition -- celebrating the First Quarter Storm of student activism in the 1970s. The "storm" was a nationalist cry against American control of Philippine economy and politics. The violent crackdown against the student demonstrators ended up with the student going underground and fighting under the banner of the Communist Party of the Philippines. The best sons and daughters of the country didn't join the military or the government, with all the money that brings. They met secretly, were tortured, continued and still continue to fight for a better society for the workers and farmers.
The cut to Bantayog in the last part of the National Anthem ["ang mamatay nang dahil sa 'yo"] is in keeping in with the theme of the FQS concert, of course, but it's so nice to see. That promise we make every time we sing the anthem has been kept by the thousands of activists and Red Fighters all across the country killed by the imperialists. Nationalism is only second nature to them. Another MV on this site for the song "Rosas ng Digma" also cut to Bantayog for its last line ["at isang pag-ibig, tunay at dakila"].
Hearing this live back then really gave me the goosebumps as if I was there, on those momentous moments of the First Quarter Storm. Tuloy ang laban! Para sa bayan!
“National Heroes of The Philippines 🇵🇭, I thank you 🙏 for your Sacrifices, you fought with true courage and bravery, but your great Sacrifice will always be remember in the Philippines History!” Gemini 🇵🇭

Trionfale e maestoso!
This video is so underrated. I haven’t heard a rendition of the national anthem that goes harder. And the song right before it... chef’s kiss
True, i hooe that someone will recreate this rendition, as this is more on the patriotic and joyous version of the anthem
Napakagandang medley!
Isa sa napakagandang rendisyon ng ating pambansang awit na napakinggan ko.
