I'm not sure if LFS2 Footswitch works properly. Lets say I have preset A and B both saved by default with effect off. When I load preset A and turn on effect on It and than manually ( without the footswitch ) change to channel B the effect will be off once again which is good because this is how the preset B was saved. But with footswitch It doesn't work like this. When I activate effect on preset A and than change channel to B the preset B will have its effect active too even it was saved without it. Also I think there is little lag when changing channels with footswitch. Because of this I'm starting to regret that I have bought 60 W version instead of 100 but didn't know how LFS2 works and that I will need some midi controler instead

From the reviews I've seen, you can turn reverb or delay on from the top of amp independent of each other. The optional foot switch has a single effects button and channel switch button. So from the foot switch my guess would be whatever you have on from top of amp will be on when effects are enabled from the foot switch. My plan is to pair it with a Behringer FCB1010 midi footswitch. I think going that route will allow you to stack buttons for chorus, etc. and individually control reverb and delay from midi stomps. Will be interesting to see how much can be switched with midi. Guessing instead of just your selected bank and the a or b channel, with midi you will be able to select any of the 12 preset amps (1 a and 1 b per each of the 6 channels) at any time, and then add effects on top of that as needed, in addition to having a stomp for the boost.
lol "HX based " it looks like a spider you can hook up to your lap top and record with easily . my guess is " easily" the thing about line 6 is they joke around about the Helix being " intuitive" but in reality there will always be a learning curve to real multi effects units
If something goes wrong, local amp tech going to turn this around in a week? Line 6 service centers within 200 miles of where you live? Just issues I would have.
I dunno man. Line 6 built amps that have a preset and loads of features for everything and the ability to have multiple channel presets. This just feels like it does some of that but is boshed into a two channel amp. Like a halfway between the two amp and surely it doesn’t satisfy either?
Hi, Mark. The Catalyst allows you to save six banks of presets with two per bank, so twelve presets total. With a MIDI controller you would have access to all twelve of those along with all the other effects in the amp. Thanks for your interest! Question: is it true that you can only have reverb on and one other effect at a time. For example: You can’t have reverb, delay and Chorus on at the same time? You have to go into the ap to turn noise gate on? I would need some type of cable to hook to my IPhone? No Bluetooth right?
@@davidmerlin3344 Hi, David. Yes, there is a dedicated reverb along with an effects section. You can run one effect at a time from that. Pretty sure you can create 6 banks of 2 presets for a total of 12. You can only get to two from the top of the amp though so you have to decide which two will be loading into the amp for access from the top or the pedal. With a midi pedal though you will have access to all 12.
Line 6 deliberately omitted a speaker output jack, so I shall deliberately pass on them. Learn from Marshall and supply us with a speaker output jack. I have so many nice speaker cabs , even a full stack of two 412's and I run all my amps that have speaker output jacks through my various cabs. It's an easy feature and for me an important issue for me. -Peter age 71
proprietary PRS single coils that can be run to emulate humbuckers. for me, the 513 is the one that got away, sold one that I loved back in 2011, mint 10-top tri-color burst for $2k, still kicking myself. that 513 run into a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special was most likely the best tone I've ever had.
it would be nice if when they demo an Amp you get to see someone like Tosin or Satriani actually CHANNEL SWITCH between different sounds with NO DROP OUT . that would be the whole enchilada
Or someone with a Quad Cortex or other floor modeler who would have run a line level signal to a power amp and speaker to put a speaker on stage. For that purpose alone it's a savings over buying a good power amp and cab. Cool idea for them to have made the FX loop dual purpose so it can be used as an input from any line level input.

A day late and a dollar short offering from Line 6. This amp does not stand up to it's predecessor, the Boss Katana. For starters, the Katana Artist has the all knobs in one location, including the power control, on the front side of the amp making it more accessible to edit volume & tones while playing. No need to reach around the back of the amp to adjust the wattage when it could have easily been mounted in front. The Katana also has an EQ contour control. This is a new Line 6 amp that is already steps behind its competition.

lol "HX based " it looks like a spider you can hook up to your lap top and record with easily .
my guess is " easily"
the thing about line 6 is they joke around about the Helix being " intuitive" but in reality there will always be a learning curve to real multi effects units
If something goes wrong, local amp tech going to turn this around in a week? Line 6 service centers within 200 miles of where you live? Just issues I would have.
What type of amp has good repair service? Seems like there are people to work on the old tube amps. Others, maybe not so much.
the sound and feel
tube-y or not tube-y?
that is the question
I dunno man. Line 6 built amps that have a preset and loads of features for everything and the ability to have multiple channel presets. This just feels like it does some of that but is boshed into a two channel amp. Like a halfway between the two amp and surely it doesn’t satisfy either?
Hi,mr;Bowcott;and Mr. Carr,the line6,catalyst,in an amazing,amp,and,an,incredibl,creativ,instrument,😮❤😊,Godbles.
How many presets can you save and access via midi?
Hi, Mark. The Catalyst allows you to save six banks of presets with two per bank, so twelve presets total. With a MIDI controller you would have access to all twelve of those along with all the other effects in the amp.

Will this amp work with a pedal platform?
Hi, Craig! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe.
I think you're asking if this amp is pedal friendly? The answer is yes, it depends. As with any amp, you have to experiment to see which pedals work with your guitar and your playing style. Since this is a modeling amp, you have several options to pick from to match with your existing effects.

The noise gate can be accessed from the amp (it's a secondary function using the Boost knob). You would need a cable to connect your phone to the amp to access the editor app.

Flex tone was a good amp
Gonna keep the katana mkii
Hey Don Carr, always good when you are doing the demo. This looks interesting. Yamaha and Line 6 is a year behind Boss, Fender and with, Class D Power. This sounds good though.
Man, these amps are insanely powerful.
I would like to a video of one or three of these guys playing music.
There were a few musical notes in that artificial harmonic! Cant have that.
Can you save more than two patches?
Hi Randall! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe.
You can create and store as many patches as you like via the computer/mobile editor, however the amp is only two channels onboard.

additionally, the amp can store a total of 12 of those presets - there are 6 banks of 2 channel locations.
Thanks!
Pretty sure you can create 6 banks of 2 presets for a total of 12. You can only get to two from the top of the amp though so you have to decide which two will be loading into the amp for access from the top or the pedal. With a midi pedal though you will have access to all 12.
@@nmdpa3 You can access all of the presets using MIDI. I'm using an HX Effects with my Catalyst for effects, boost on/off and amp switching.
Am i missing something? Didnt they already have an amp tgat does this?
I still have one of the old Line 6 + Bogner DT25's. Those were kind of similar to this. Remember those?
Hi,Mr.galager,how are you,the choys,of gitar,is,an,exselant,won,Godbles.
Nothing here to make me get rid of my Katana 50.
-Peter age 71
yeah, really . the lower line Peavey Vypyr is that way . but not the " 3"
Mesa boogie always used a speaker line out even on the .50 caliber .
If they had a head I would probably order one
That sound amasing,,what kind of picups in that PRS?
expensive ones lol
proprietary PRS single coils that can be run to emulate humbuckers. for me, the 513 is the one that got away, sold one that I loved back in 2011, mint 10-top tri-color burst for $2k, still kicking myself. that 513 run into a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special was most likely the best tone I've ever had.
Oh no, it's a real amp? I thought it was models for Helix! What are you doing Line 6?
You must have got the same line 6 email I did. I thought the same thing. I thought it was a helix update.
Sweet very useful
Part helix in a amp box!
That’s what I thought. When they said it had the hx edit technology
Iteration, not innovation...
it would be nice if when they demo an Amp you get to see someone like Tosin or Satriani actually CHANNEL SWITCH between different sounds with NO DROP OUT .
that would be the whole enchilada
Who is this for.
People interested in Boss Katana type amps, but were jonesing after that Helix type vibe? 🤷🏻♂️
I don't hear any fizz
you can not do chorus + delay. So no ty , happy with my katanas and silverline
I think with a midi pedal you can.
Be interesting to see what future software updates add to it.
Sounds like a typical low end Line 6 amp aimed at the kids. Updated Spyder. Katana is not particularly better. Hard pass.
Focused on kids? I know plenty of “kids” that can probably put play you any day…. It’s designed to be a good practice amp for anyone, young, old, fat, skinny, black, white or whatever….. more worry about playing and less worrying about who’s name is on you equipment
Obviously trying to compete with the katana at that price point.
I myself would wait for the new Peavey Vypyr VIP first and then decide.
Katana Killer
Okay man
❤🎉😊
A new tech Variax or at least Revstar Variax or new Helix with profiling capabilities. So much to do by Line 6 that could be game changers…and they do another Katana…😑
Imagine if we could get to the point where we can profile effects pedals. That would change the game.
I would like to see a synth controller guitar with all 15 Guage strings so the dynamic range is the same .
kind of like electronic drums . but for old guitar players with tendinitis ...lol
No Low mid thump
A day late and a dollar short offering from Line 6. This amp does not stand up to it's predecessor, the Boss Katana. For starters, the Katana Artist has the all knobs in one location, including the power control, on the front side of the amp making it more accessible to edit volume & tones while playing. No need to reach around the back of the amp to adjust the wattage when it could have easily been mounted in front. The Katana also has an EQ contour control. This is a new Line 6 amp that is already steps behind its competition.
This seems to have better tones though, and that's what really matters. The Helix tech used to create these models is superior to Boss' modeling tech.
Pfff
I mean yea, but I don't have a single valve amp that lets me switch power in the front either. Orange, VOX, etc. are all switched from the back.
waynes world
Leave it to line 6 to integrate the worst user interface ever.
meh
Ain't no Digireedoo 360 is it bud ?😆
Looks like the Line 6 version of a Katana...what an odd flex...
You mean “what an odd flex-tone”…which predated the Katana by a decade. 😜
I have not heard a decent metal tone out of this amp in any any video. This is a Katana copy anp that does not have the tone of the Katana. Garbage....
Save yourself grief. Get a spider 5 mk2 240
That PRS sounds horrible….
A real plastic amp.
I don’t get people who use line 6. An amp with a onboard USB seems sus
I guess play one an see I guess I might
@@jessetate9701 ....naaah
Sounds so shi...has no volume bride.......never would buy one! Yes, it isn't more than a reborn of the flextone II or III, only a bit lighter!
Down to 1/2 watt. That’s not loud enough. Who’s using that function!? I certainly wouldn’t.
People practicing at home in their small apartment/condo
many would use that setting for home use...
@@BrockDavisson - I use an Orange OR15 and 4x12 at home. Maybe I’m the crazy one.
Omg 😳 what the hell have you done to that Stratocaster?
Wow Kenny Rogers with an Les Paul too!?
