Heard rumors that a major trolley manufacturer is working on a AI-driven system with lidar sensors and a submeter GPS receiver. Autonomous driving and follow me functionality is achieved by connecting the system to the motor controls. In a ‘programming round' you can define parking postitions at each green and tee box and route safe paths around bunkers and hazards on the display. When playing an 'advance function’ drives the trolley to the next parking postition, so e.g. when hitting the green from 160 yards you could take out the putter and press advance and the trolley moves to the position beside or behind the green. From there to the next tee and so on. With the additional remote control one could still pause the autonomous driving when e.g. a playing partner hits his ball. Then just press continue and the trolley advances on its own. Of course one can always steer by hand in uncertain terrain. This is probably the future of electric trolleys.
I’m 34 but had a Notocaddy for about 4 years now. Wouldn’t even care if anyone tried to take the piss, it makes a round so much more enjoyable. My back used to be in bits for the last few holes when I carried
I've had the MGI Zip Navigator AT for about 4 months now and love it. I feel a lot more refreshed at the end of my round. I always keep my remote on me. My remote has a belt clip, I attached a lanyard to it and attach the lanyard to my belt loop, than I slip the clip to my body. This ensures I always have it with me in case it gets away for some reason.
@@ryanmoran425 once you memorize the buttons on the remote you can just walk with it and should be fine. You can change the speed on the fly and stop it if needed. You don’t want it getting to far ahead of you though, that way you can see curbs and potholes that could tip it over. Middle of the fairway I open it up though.
I've just bought the stewart x10 follow and can`t wait for it to arrive on the 21/12/21. the thing i like love about it is the fact that all remote trolleys make it feel like u have a caddy. its also a nice feeling to be able to look for a ball and not have to double back to your clubs. just simply use the control hand set and bring the clubs to you. getting to a green and placing the trolley to where your going to exit the green whilst i plan my next putt. now i have bought it i cant wait to use it on the courses. they are great fun for sure
I got the powakaddy S7 18 months ago and love it, managed to get 34 holes out of the 18 hole battery and the remote battery seems to last forever. Only had one problem when the actual remote died. 2 year warranty on it all though so was sent a new one when they had it in stock....about 3 week wait. You can fit winter wheels to it but then you’re not supposed to use it on remote...it does still sort of work though.
I have 1 and love it. I just play golf now and not tired after playing. I walk, grab a club, hit the ball, put club in the bag and start walking. It's like having a caddie. Congrats and enjoy
I live in the states on the west coast, there has been a fairly strong following for push carts as we call them here. When covid first hit and golf courses were opening back up with the restrictions golf carts were restricted to single rider so the push cart market exploded it has been nearly impossible to find one, now if you do find one they are expensive. I like to walk the course but I can't carry my clubs. After four shoulder tears I can't carry my bag for more than a few holes before I can't swing my clubs anymore. I bought mine out of necessity before covid hit for $110 the same one is now $300 if you can find it. Where I live there are quite a few course that will only let you ride if you're disabled and then you have to hire a course caddy to chauffeur you around the course.
I’ve got the MGI ZIP Navigator which is awesome however if you put the remote in your pocket while hitting your shot you have to make sure you’ve pressed the remote lock button or mid swing the trolley can start taking off on you!
I must admit I did get one at the beginning of the year never looked back, even in the summer with loads of drink in it and winter with extra layers. Also helps the fact my back is knackers from work. Great content and keep up the good work.
please consider a full review. LOVE your work by the way. Cleveland Ohio area USA. i'm 66 and stopped carrying over 20 yrs ago been using a push cart(trolley for you folks across the pond) ever since, finally decided to treat myself to an remote control bat caddy X4R bought on the cheap from ebay, just ordered it yesterday so i cant really give you any pros and cons from a personal perspective yet, here in the states you see maybe 25-40% of golfers walking. maybe a 1/4 of them using push/pull carts, i can count on 1 hand the number of electric carts that i've seen being used. now i play mostly on the local munis so the numbers could be quite different for the country club set. why do you think trolleys hav'nt caught on more here?
I would like to see a full review. I purchased the Motocaddy GPS DHC model. It is not remote, but can be sent some 60 yards ahead. It gives distance to hole, distance to hazards etc. Pros and Cons to each. So far I love it. generally set speed at 5 and off I go. (I'm in Canada, and our season is closing :-(
I've bought the M7 remote, so I don't have too push my trolley up hill, after struggling with a dodgy knee. Won't get to use it until after lock down. Looks great, typical motocaddy construction. Good build quality.
I live in America and I use a trolley when I play golf alone and a buggy when my son-in-law and I play. I’m in my 60’s and I like the exercise of walking but have a bad back so I don’t want to carry my clubs. My trolley has two wheels and I may look at getting one with three. I liked how the clubs sit up and are more accessible in your trolley than mine.
Have used a Bat Caddy for 2 years. I find playing golf is more fun as I really enjoy walking courses and there's less stress on the back from carrying and I have more energy towards the end of the rounds. I don't use the remote function as I found that was more of a distraction...left, right, front, back, too fast, too slow, etc. Overall, I really like it.
I have the S7 remote. Great bit of kit. So nice to guide trolley around a green to next tee while you walk onto the front and then off the back with trolley already there waiting.
Excellent James. Yes I would like to see the full review - especially if you could do the GPS version and how accurate that is. I like the idea of not worrying about yardage watch or zapper.
I was planning on buying something similar when I retired, but there aren't many courses where I moved to that allow any walking. During Corona Virus some courses were allowing the option of walking because everyone had to be in their own motor cart and the courses were running short of them, but now it's back to "all riding, all the time." That rear wheel is to keep the trolly from tipping over backwards when climbing a steep hill.
I belive this "toy" can improve your content quality. No more clicking sound during the walking if you drive it far front enough and you can carry all the stuff without extra effort. Also i would like to see you sticking gopro to it and drive it behind the green for approach shots!!
I play in the Philippines and use a ClickGear 3.5 push cart. I like being able to walk, in the US it was predominantly buggies. I'm not sure how the Motocaddy's battery would last here, the climate seems to kill batteries quickly here. It might get expensive having to replace every 6 months or so.
These are very popular at my club. There are about 40 of them and the club has a special storage area for them and a charging rack for the batteries after the round. Got mine 5 months ago and love it. Legs are much fresher than carrying.
James, i have the same issue with the speed, there needs to be a 4.5 speed setting - great trolleys, but remotes a lot of mulla... I just got the new M1 with decent control, with the dry bag and its perfect for days you know its going to be a long slog and carry all your drinks and spare wet gear... Remotes not for me, but can see some benefits on using one.
In the US we don't use trolleys or buggies. We use pull carts, or push carts. I'm pretty sure it does the same thing. My home course is closed on Mondays but open for walkers after noon - with push carts allowed. So, I use my push cart at least once a week, weather permitting of course...
A few years ago, we caught up with the match ahead and found one of the old boys staring disconsolately into the stream by the next tee. His control trolley had wandered off on its own and jumped in! I almost always carry my bag ;o)
Great video James, just a lads normal morning out!!..lol....Great bit of kit by the looks of it, a shame it can't clean the clubs and offer advice like the living version. Joking asside I think its something I'll defo invest in. I use buggies quite a bit, purely because after 12-14 hole my knees are shafted. What are u lads playing off? All look pretty handy.
Full review please James. Did you manage to tip it over? How would it fare on a very hilly course. I have a Motocaddy and in windy conditions it literally gets blown over and tips over when on side hill lies so I'm dubious that the M7 would be okay.
If your trolley is tipping over, either your bag is too light (get a cart bag), or you need to add weight to the lower pockets in your carry bag (Golf balls) for ballast.
Motocaddy trollies are renown for being unstable. I have an old S3, Pro Series bag which is very heavy. Switching from Lead acid to lithium battery reduced the weight and is the main cause of instability as the CoG is now much higher. The Stewart trollies are much more stable but significantly more expensive so I'm in two minds.
@@markm6541 I have the MGI ZIP Navigator with Lithium battery and haven't had any problems with tipping, though I do make sure I have a grip on the handle when going over curbs. The MGI Navigator also has a wheelie wheel in the back to prevent trolly from tipping backwards.
When I first saw these I thought the guys were weak. However, after using one, my back feels so much better after a round I totally endorse them. I’ve only tipped it once and it’s only run over me twice.but have it down. Love it.
I use a $250 (£125) Albatross remote control buggy. The steering is woeful so I generally steer it with my hands while I walk with it. So much better than carrying. These things (mostly Motocaddy and Parmaker) are used extensively in Australia.
Many in my senior golf club group (about 90 over age 55 players) in Southern California USA use "trolleys" every week. These devices are very popular here. I once used one one but due to a knee injury I purchased a Club Car to drive on the course and back forth to the club.
In Australia most players use a trolly whether electric or push. Very few carry. There was 145 players in our Saturday comp. There would be only 2 or 3 carrying their bags. Summer heat possibly one reason, age of membership another. Am I right in thinking that a lot of people carry in the UK?
Maybe because it’s not 1920? To people who go on about the tradition I say, yeah where’s your hickory sticks. When was the last time you saw a pro carry or push his clubs? An electric trolley is closer to what the pros do.
Would like to know about how it would do on an actually hilly course because I have huge hills on several of the local courses where I live. How easy would it tip over?
I use a Clicgear 3.5+, which is a 3-wheeled push cart. “Trollies” are quite common here in New England, particularly on older, walkable courses. Powered models are a rare sight. There are way too many players riding in “buggies” who could use a walk, though. We have the first tee time Sunday mornings, and 4 walking players take about 3 hours 30 minutes.
@@zekebones34 We would be more than happy to let you play through! Sadly, no one at this course capable of playing that fast no matter what they are riding. Retiring next year, so expect a lot of early weekday solo rounds, walking, at probably 2.5 hours.
Same here in the Pacific Northwest. 69 years old and play in a group that plays in just over 3 hours. Ready golf and a good pace of walking between shots. On my own, I play in about 2 hours, 20 minutes. Handicap is 9. My "trolley" is the 3 wheel version. Might go for the 4 wheel version next time. A bit more stable on side hills.
Recently got my first electric trolley, the Powacaddy FX3 - and I love it!! So much for relaxing to walk normally! Also you’re right, it’s great to have all your camera gear in the bigger bag!!!
Plenty of Americans do use push carts. Some courses do not allow golf carts and lots of people who play public courses but don’t necessarily want to pay for a cart every time buy one as well. Bethpage Black is an example of an American course that doesn’t allow Golf Carts (unless you are John Daly).
I use an EWheels. It converts my standard Rovic pushcart to an electric pushcart. It comes apart so I can separate the cart and motor for easy storage of both. If it craps out I can just convert back to my original pushcart and not be stuck with an expensive useless piece of equipment. And I only paid $600 (2 years ago). It’s made a huge difference in my energy level at the end of the round making those last 4-5 holes less of a burden. Also like the fact I can load up without having to push the extra weight.
If you connect a talking gps to it so when it gets to your ball it can call out the yardage and possibly what club to use😀. I use. Click gear trolley but have been thinking about going electric for the really hilly courses and when the temp get above 30 degrees here in Aus. It would be useful to have a phone charger port somewhere on it. I would just walk with it so I don’t have to think.
In Houston, TX, we walk with a push cart in our group. Not a lot of walking for most people. Some courses require buggies/carts (riding). One like that would work great.
Been using a electric trolley for nearly 25 years the best thing I've bought to play golf with especially with a bad back and neck highly recommend one but the new RX1 powakaddy trolley is way too expensive at £1200/£1500.
I've got a Powercaddy and the speeds are the same, 4 is a bit slow, 5 just a bit of a stretch except uphill where is perfect. Wouldn't go back to carrying
As your age goes up carrying becomes detrimental to your game. I'm 53 and I use a Stewart X9 with the follow function - even better when it's raining or you want to eat etc. Too much money tho!! It does take a while to get used to the controls and you do have to keep an eye on it - mine has been in all the water, several bunkers and onto the middle of the 1st green!! I would never go back to carrying tho - probably says it all.
American with a non-powered trolley (generally called push cart here). I'm considering an electric version though and watching all the reviews and videos I can. Thanks James
There are so many courses in the USA that we aren't even allowed to walk. A lot of the courses were built on huge strips of land or they snake through housing subdivisions. So, the distance between one green and the next tee box could be a 10-15 minute walk. It would take 6 hours so play. My home course would be impossible to walk in under 5 hours because of the distance between some of our holes. Sad, really.
I've got he Ben sayers version and love it, takes a lot o strain of the knees etc instead of carrying. Ideal for when you've left your bag on the wrong side of the green and you can just bring it to you.
These are becoming increasingly popular here in the USA. I have the MGI Navigator. It will last 3+ rounds on one charge. It's easy to re-charge. It's compact and unimposing. Helps me walk 18.
Trolley makes a round so much more relaxed. Gone from powerkaddy twin line push trolley to golf glider electric trolley, made in Ireland. Your trolley is the Ferrari of trollies, my golf glider is a Volvo estate, but bullet proof. Great vid 👍😂
You'll give up on that remote soon enough. I had a remote before. One day I walked towards the club house with my fancy new toy. The trolley failed to react to the signal and it ploughed through about a dozen bags at the clubhouse door. Felt like a right plonker. Note, it wasn't a Motocaddy. I'm now happy with a normal electric trolley and let the hands steer.
Spot on the buttons very big and easily triggered I use a MGI Zip navigator AT. Always hit the lock button if you put it in a pocket. Most often just leave the remote on your bag while you play. It’s good to send the bag toward the next tee while you putt but hit that lock button
It's very nice James I'd like the M5 with the built in gps and range finder, never used carry bag,s always had cart bags and a trolley saves your energy
@@robh316 because the coolest golfers carry and pro caddies don’t use a trolley. I get if you are 75 and you struggle to lift it but most people should carry.
@@tombowman5281 so if the pro golfers jumped of bridges would you? Be your own person not some lemming and for all you know somebody might have an injury so can't carry very judgmental of you.coolest golfers carry lol think you will find pro golfers don't carry anything the caddy does all the work
I prefer the actual cart bag rather than the remote controlled trolley. I've had a cheap manual push trolley for years but I have no problem with pushing it although I can see the attraction of hands free up hills.
Played with a guy who had a Stewart remote control trolley he was so happy with it. Almost fell guilty when it hit a bump and went over and the other 3 of us in the group creased over laughing
I was about to buy one of these, I've just convinced myself that it's worth the money. But when I find out that everything is extras, umbrella holder, drink holder and scorecard holder, for example, IL think that's really cheap from the manufacturer.
Need the one where you have a controller in you pocket and the trolly follows you 10 yards behind automatically just tap your pocket to start and stop 👍
James i will never comment to you about using forgiving clubs again. Swear kind-of. At the course today asked 1 of the better golfers. Why don't you use forgiving irons. The argument started ! Him: I need it for shot shaping. Me: Why if you hit it straight. Him: Because you don't always hit it straight. Me:Why don't you hit irons that are more forgiving so you hit it straight more often. Then you would not be in trouble and have to manipulate the ball. Him: BLAH BLAH BLAH Nothing he said made any sense. Guess I pissed him off too. Are team won !!
I used to carry my bag in Scotland but when I moved to Australia nobody carries their bags, they al have trolleys, most with seats and eskys in them, they think there’s something wrong with you if you carry a bag.
Better with the M5 gps dhc (36+ lithium ) for around £650 if you shop about .M7 £1k not worth the extra £350 for a remote, The M5 is the stand out in the range
I’ve had one a year and love it. Saves the legs and back more than you would expect. Good call on the suspension have noticed rougher areas I never really noticed before. Tend to walk and hold the handle over rougher areas which greatly reduces clubs being bounced around. Also considering covers on all clubs but taking them on and off all day is a bit tedious. Took some getting used to and ran about three people over plus myself twice. Like taking the putter out and sending my clubs over toward the next tee. Make sure to use the lock key if you have remote in your pocket while you play shots the buttons are quite large and easily triggered unintentionally.
James I have a Stewart follow I've had a accident but not run into anyone yet it does annoy some people but it has saved 15/20 minutes on a round simply because you don't have to walk back to you meet it where ever you hit your ball 😂
Great tech but a little gimmicky and pointless for me especially for that price, I don’t see why you would ever need this over a normal electric trolley, good video though 👍🏻

While 3.5hr is good for 4 walkers, my friends and I can play 18 in just over 2 hours if we don’t get held up in carts.
#9:40 🤣👏😂, brilliant..
I look forward to a full review. Ive wanted a remote trolley for a long time but have yet to take the plunge. They are pricey though.
Lol can see all the other golfers getting annoyed, yet you never getting bored 🤣🤣. Get Jackson on it too and you’re away 👍
Its all good until someone wanders past you with a
STEWART GOLF X9 FOLLOW 😄
X10 will be here on 1rst April :)
On my 3rd Stewart remote trolley now. Will never go back to a non remote now. Ridicule all you want but it makes everything easier
Hey James how you liking the 921 tours? And do you like the pw?
I got the forged and the pw and gw feel a bit chunky
In Houston, TX, we walk with a push cart in our group. Not a lot of walking for most people. Some courses require buggies/carts (riding). One like that would work great.
Never thought I'd say this but I'm going to miss you slamming your stand bag on the ground. 😁😁😁😁
I used to have the OG powakaddy c2. Spent £700 on it and it didnt have a brake! Tried to love it but hills made it impossible! 🤦♂️
I've got he Ben sayers version and love it, takes a lot o strain of the knees etc instead of carrying. Ideal for when you've left your bag on the wrong side of the green and you can just bring it to you.
Thats awesome! Hate when that happens haha. We're thinking we need to get one for our videos to make it easier haha
Fun watching three friends out for a round and having some laughs. They were very patient with you, James. 😉
This sad, I have the S1 buggy...
I wish mine was remote, but then again I have it to hold onto when I'm pi##ed!
Debating acquisition ..so a review would be welcome. Other models pros and cons?
FUn video , I'm on the fence getting one , I'm 65 in a couple O weeks. 😀I watch ALL your content so looking forward to review.
These are becoming increasingly popular here in the USA. I have the MGI Navigator. It will last 3+ rounds on one charge. It's easy to re-charge. It's compact and unimposing. Helps me walk 18.
Oh dear Boys and their Toys 😂😂
I have the alphard e wheels best motor cart ever fits almost any punch cart I have the sun mountain v1 and works great only 500
Hi James I use a cart bag being old lol I like my clubs spaced out know here they are great trolley 😜
I'm in the Detroit area. I use a Clicgear 3.5. It's a great push cart, but nowhere near as cool as yours. Enjoy!
Trolley makes a round so much more relaxed. Gone from powerkaddy twin line push trolley to golf glider electric trolley, made in Ireland. Your trolley is the Ferrari of trollies, my golf glider is a Volvo estate, but bullet proof. Great vid 👍😂
Yeah the golf glider is indestructible. No frills but it'll see you through many rounds.
Yep spot on Pat 👍
Defo wud of dun my head in well way u were doing it 🤣🤣 but good set up
Great video James hilarious as always🤣👍 I have the powacaddy FW7s GPS use it in summer and carry in winter hate getting it muddy lol😄
I was really hoping you would crash the trolley to be honest 😂😂😂 funny video though 👍
So is Chris getting one? Is there room for his coffee? If he gets one then he can use 14 clubs and no excuses.
I thought they you to make one that would connect and follow the remote had to be with in so many yrds to work though
How are you finding the jpx921 tour
One of my friends had an earlier model & he often set it off in error when he had the remote in his pocket. Can you test this please?
Spot on the buttons very big and easily triggered I use a MGI Zip navigator AT. Always hit the lock button if you put it in a pocket. Most often just leave the remote on your bag while you play. It’s good to send the bag toward the next tee while you putt but hit that lock button
It's very nice James I'd like the M5 with the built in gps and range finder, never used carry bag,s always had cart bags and a trolley saves your energy
And makes you look like a knobhead
@@tombowman5281 how does it better to use a trolley get the weight of your back
@@robh316 because the coolest golfers carry and pro caddies don’t use a trolley.
I can see you chasing little old ladies around the fairway with your motocaddy🤣
Played with a guy who had a Stewart remote control trolley he was so happy with it. Almost fell guilty when it hit a bump and went over and the other 3 of us in the group creased over laughing
That trolley looks great fun but how stable is it on hilly fairways and slopes ?
That Great..I have been looking at that cart all summer $1400 here in Canada..great video
Golf snobbery 😂😂😂😂
I was about to buy one of these, I've just convinced myself that it's worth the money. But when I find out that everything is extras, umbrella holder, drink holder and scorecard holder, for example, IL think that's really cheap from the manufacturer.
Spot on with the speed control 5 too fast and 4 too slow!
Love the Adidas top. They do seem to have a great range. Couldn't manage without my cart. Get a brolly holder. They make keeping dry much easier.
That was brilliant 😂😂😂 keep it up James 🙌👍
Nice. I probably won’t buy one. Don’t walk too much in the states. But I do have a push cart. A video would be nice. Looks pretty simple
Exactly our thoughts. Looks badass but we don't walk enough over here to warrant however much its gotta cost!
James, you can get an attachment to put in your pocket so it remotely follows you around anywhere
I used to carry my bag in Scotland but when I moved to Australia nobody carries their bags, they al have trolleys, most with seats and eskys in them, they think there’s something wrong with you if you carry a bag.
From the States, I am going to get the M5 GPS. Would like to see a full review
Loving the channel have you every heard of slazenger v500 wedges. Just bought a 56 degree and was pleasantly surprised
Better with the M5 gps dhc (36+ lithium ) for around £650 if you shop about .M7 £1k not worth the extra £350 for a remote, The M5 is the stand out in the range
Strangely at 61 years old, I have gone to carrying my bag in the winter, half set only of course !!!
Love it!.. 🤣😂. Only thing I would add though, is some suspension! Does look a little rattly...
Stopped carrying in my 40s and got a Powa caddy.when you graft for a living golf is a great sport you can keep the exercise
Like you, I thought this wa a gimmick trolley originally, but it does look like a lot of fun to be fair😂
Save energy by holding the trolley and walk more direct routes 👍🏻
Are all courses closed in lockdown 2.0 or is it dependant on the club and local authority?
All closed at home buddy
John has move golf outfits then I’ve got socks!
