  • Join us as we hear Fr. Matthew Pawlikowski, retired chaplain of the US Military Academy at West Point, tell the story of his mentor, Fr. Emil Kapaun, who fought in World War II and in the early battles of the Korean War, and whose cause for sainthood has begun.
You can join Fr. Pawlikowski for our series, Spiritual Warfare: bit.ly/3fGx25p
It is edifying to hear about those who defended their faith in heroic and sacrificial ways, and Father Emil Kapaun exemplified this selfless faith in God. Many of those who have heard this story, say that afterwards they had the profound desire to be a better Christian, a better Catholic, and a better person. In this episode Father Pawlikowski, who is currently still residing at West Point, presents a dramatic reading (from an 1952 article in the Saturday Evening Post) about Father Emil Kapaun.

This was a wonderful reading of Fr. Kapaun. I'm blessed to live in the Wichita diocese, and only an hour from his home town of Pilsen. I pray also that Father will be declared a Saint soon, as so many of us believe him to be so.
I just recently traveled on pilgrimage to Oklahoma City to the Shrine if Father Stanley Rother. What a blessing. I look forward to a Shrine for Father Kapaun here in Kansas.
Thank you for doing this, it was truly a gift to listen to. Your prayer at the end was also very touching and meaningful🙏💝
