Me too, there is a pretty decent amount of newer bands from all over doing traditional 80s Metal. Some of them are damn good at it, luckily they had some good teachers. IMO, this band right here is on the top of the heap as far as the new wave of Heavy Metal bands go, they without a doubt have all the right boxes checked. There's a few others that are good as well.
I think in some ways, Dave reminds me of Bob Marley and Jim Morrison. Iconic and charismatic figures in music and incredibly adept songwriters who were not afraid to say that all was not okay in the world and there were things going on that frightened them terribly. Dave certainly had a charisma about him and I believe the world really lost a great talent and visionary when he passed away.
First off, I'm 32. Secondly, I love reading all these young kids on youtube saying they love this music and hate the trendy top 30 shit. Makes me think there may actually be some hope for music.
