I have the 73s version, sometimes it almost always kicked me back hard whenever I kickstart the bike. One time it kicked me so hard, my shoes come flying off (don't know how). But it's a very special bike to me because my dad used to ride it when he was in college and we rebuilt it together. And now that he's gone, this bike has become my favorite thing to remember him by.

Hi Doug. Very nice build, by the way. Would you be able to tell me the make of your tires and their sizes for both front and back? I also have a 77 that I am restoring and think those tires look grand on your bike. Are they Duro's? Thanks kindly.
Hi Joe, The ivory white bike has a Duro HF-308 (3.50 X 17) in the rear and a Kenda K205 straight rib (2.75 X 18) in the front. The green bike has Michelin M62 Gazelles (Front 2.75 X 18 and rear 3.00 X 17). Hope this helps.
@@DSmitheman Hi Doug, thank you. Yes that helps greatly. I have a 3.0x17 Duro, but it's not quite wide enough. On my CB100, I have a Michelin Gazelle in a 3 inch and it's much wider than the same size Duro. Glad to know that the 3.50 inch fits nicely on the standard cb125 rim. I do wonder how wide I can go on the front though. If you have any thought on this, please let me know. I've got two bikes which I am currently restoring, a 72 CB100 and a 77 CB125. The smaller one is for my girlfriend who is just learning to ride. I'll have to get your email, so I can send you a few pics. I am in Ontario. Terrific work! In the final stages of restoring my ‘72 cb125s (after 25 years of neglect). Love your green bike - where did the cowling come from? I have another project brewing...😳
Thanks so much. The fairing does give you a little extra speed when you tuck your body behind it. I'll look it up to see where I got it from and get back to you. Cheers.
You can get the fairing from several places from China usually with free shipping. You want the ones with a 5 3/4 " headlight opening. Here is a place in the US with a good price. www.ebay.ca/itm/Motorcycle-5-3-4-Headlight-Fairing-Screen-Black-Clear-Retro-Cafe-Racer-Drag/371905429174?hash=item56974a7eb6:g:TbQAAOSw9NBaXpo0
Thanks so much Misunder. The cowling I found online out of China. It fits the 5 inch headlight perfectly although you'll have to build supports yourself to install it. If you have trouble finding the fairing let me know and I'll look it up for you.
You said in the beginning you had a buddy in Montreal who GAVE you bike as long you restored it as good as the 79. If buddies from Montreal give you bikes I need a Montreal buddy.
hahahah the bike parts from so many different countries, that's interesting. this type of bikes are super popular in india, iran, pakistan.etc they clone the bike and sometimes its a family bike, the whole family sit on the bike and barely fit.
I think I would have to shed many parts for it to be a true cafe racer. If I were to categorize it perhaps, stylized classic would be a good way to describe it.
