This story is proof that we all need to be careful with whom we do business.
I am glad you are helping to keep our community in formed about this! I had no idea about this until now. I thought hero was reputable. I was wrong!! Thank you 🙏
Thank you Gem Mint who interviewed Michael and that is why I sent my books to Michael. It was obvious my books were switched, but I had no way to prove it. Then I saw Comic Tom referring Hero Restoration and I wanted to warn him, but who would believe me, and I couldn’t prove it. The fraud went far beyond what he has been arrested for.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I just made a video to address this as well.
I'm glad I like my comics raw. Not really a fan of pressing/cleaning and slabbing of comics. Hope those involved can get their comics back or some kind of compensation.
Unbelievable. That is a shame as he was one of the first restoration professionals that I discovered getting back into the hobby as reputable RUclips channels interviewed him....
Maybe Mr. Hero can use his clean and press skills in the prison laundry.
The biggest fear i have handing my book over for any type of thing, whether it's pressing, cleaning, grading... i am always fearful of this exact situation.
I just feel so bad. They will probably never get their books back and that really sucks!! I would hate to lose a single book!!!!
Crazy indeed! I hope that it all works out and collectors get their books returned to them. I watched a video, can't remember the channel(s) at the moment, but where a book or books were sent in to one of the grading/cleaning/pressing companies and in their observation the book looked different than what they sent in. It's sad that trust is broken like this. ~Eric
This guy was in Oregon? I live not too far from Linn county and had never heard of his service. We have a nice little collector community in this state but people like this give us a bad name.
It's a sad story for the people involved. I remember a story in the news about a dealer who owed one person from Canada. The buyer gave the US dealer thousands of dollars to purchase comics for him over time. The dealer was then to send all to Canada. What happened is the dealer fell on hard times and committed suicide, leaving the buyer without comics or his money. There may have been other victims. This happened many years ago and the dealer did business honestly for a long time.
Unbelievable. Hope he's prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
That's too bad. Thanks for reporting this information.
Gem mint said he even appeared on his show years ago.
Thank you for sharing this important information and news.
What Micheal did was disgusting to those clients... Karma
New charges have been filed since his initial arrest reflecting additional victims and at least $30,000 in additional losses, so this is something authorities are continuing to follow up on if anyone believes they have been victimized.
Thanks for the update.
Every time you turn around there's another scammer or scandal. As far as buying from the crooks two EBay accounts I don't see how a buyer could be charged with a crime if they bought books from him in good faith.
Do you get money for these commercials?
How come you're having trouble reading words? Are you ok?
Your reading was awful could not Hey past 6:30
Sorry I'm horribly dyslexic and it really shows when I read out loud.
