Dae I believe some locs don’t like being flattened with a scarf. They have room to move and breathe with a bonnet. I’ve tried both and I really believe it’s not good to flatten them with a scarf. You have to try to revive them everyday after flattening and smothering them. Think of them like a plant that you want to grow. You wouldn’t do that to a plant. You wouldn’t smother and flatten it every night. You would put a cover over it so it can breathe and move. Please try using a bonnet. You’ve helped me so much and I want to help you.
Dr. Ramona Griffin-Noble thanks for your input❤️ I’ve had Locs for a total of about 6 years, and I have used a bonnet in the past, but I found that more importantly than the type of covering is the material used. After several years of using silk bonnets and silk scarves, I prefer scarfs, and because I moisturize my hair daily, I never have an issue. In addition, bonnets tend to have a lot more movement, and rub against the edges quite a bit, which after postpartum hair loss was not beneficial for me.
DAE thank you for your response. You are teaching me so much about locs. I’ve been watching you since beginning 7 months ago. There is something very real and caring about you. Thank you for all you’re doing to help me and so many others.
I'm now a month locked! I knew I wanted locs and your videos were the catalyst for me to finally get it done. loved this video, and all the preceding ones!
Hi Dae! I am 12 months in my loc anniversary was on 09/01. I love your videos and your hair is goals for me! Thank you for all the information you give on healthy locs.
Thank you Dae. I have learned so much from you. I have been Loc'd for 8 months now. Your videos give me inspiration to continue this journey and you provide very valuable information for me to use in maintaining my Locs. I look forward to watching you.
Love it. I am 13 months loc’d and it’s in that in between stage so I wear it mostly up on the sides and twisted up in the back after my retwist I decided to leave down so it can breathe plus the tension. I am loving the journey
Not sure what's going on. Didn't get my notification. So nice to see you. Your loc's looks great. Im 9 months in and I've never been happier with my hair. Thank you for everything. You really have been a big part of my journey💕 blessing too you and your family💕
I'll be going into my 4th month next week and I'm finally starting to really feel comfortable with my locs. Your channnel has been a really good motivator for me! Thank you!
DAE GIRL!! 💚 yes check in time... I AM 1 YEAR THIS MONTH OMG!! ***WHOOP WHOOP*** ✋🏾🥰🎊🎉🎉 THANK U THANK U THANK YOU. I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU HAVE HELPED ME MAKE IT THRU THIS JOURNEY. I almost gave up idk how many times lol and SAME on the front of my locs too, always shorter😁
I am enjoying your journey. I am following you from my personal channel as well.. You’ve really helped me as I have started to help people maintain their locs. I use your videos as a reference for people in the early loc’ing phase.❤️Sheree
I’m soooo glad you said that about retwists not lasting bc I was thinking I was doing something wrong. They looked good after I finished but started un-raveling after about a week or two. I will be 3 months on November 10th!
Your content is always great and so helpful! I am 14 months in as of today and loving it. I have never styled my hair but decided next retwist will get a style just to change it up a bit. LOL
Nice video. I am two days away from my 14 month of having my locs. I have not tried oil and water retwist. I agree that retwist don't last long but I am okay with both the best and neat look.
I always look forward to seeing your videos no matter what the content. I am nearly 13 months loc'd. Mine is about the same length as yours. I'm looking forward to them getting longer so that I can do more styles. Btw your hair looks great!
Month 3 on the 25th. I feel like time is passing by slowly lol I guess cause I’m waiting to see them fully locked although logically I know that won’t come so soon.
I knooowww those days oh my Lord 😂. Right now, I'm just waiting for this length to swoop in and take me by surprise. I'm not even abouty hair like that lol. But, we're all in this together! I'll be 6 months soon btw!
Hey Dae, I’m 8 months Loc’d. Could you record a DIY Rose Water? Also can I suggest you trying out the JBCO butter by Sunny Isle for your retwist. I absolutely love it for greasing my scalp.
im a month behind you! It took my loctician about 1hr 45 mins to retwist my hair.... she kept saying “you have so much hair” “do you ever sit around and think “wow I have so much hair”” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I do have a lot of locs though which wasn’t the plan but I love em nonetheless. Mine are creeping past collar bone length, Since your locs are pretty thick you won’t see length for a while, by year 3 you’ll be like omg where did all this length come from! lol
DAE u look beautiful here’s my delima I two trand twisted my locs I didn’t do thm all going the same way so I want THM going clock wise .so on my first retwist do y’all u think if I twist the hair with new growth clockwise all of THM I will mess up
DaeLocs well right now I feel like my front is unraveling ... when I went for my first retwist she had to redo the front . I’m in the military so I always have to wear a hat or workout and I feel like now probably wasn’t the best time to start my loc journey
Maybe you should have shown us your hair before a fresh retwist because I still see a lot of your scalp. I don’t know if I have ever seen your hair with grown out roots.
king joffy The journey is different for everyone. Before I decided to grow out my hair, I shaved my head completely and started from scratch. So 14 months on me will be different from those who started with longer hair.

Maybe you should have shown us your hair before a fresh retwist because I still see a lot of your scalp. I don’t know if I have ever seen your hair with grown out roots.
The clip in the beginning of the video is it. My hair isn’t very full so even when it’s grown out, I almost always will see the parts.
Im 3 months in first time

Nice but 14 months seems like it should be way longer
king joffy The journey is different for everyone. Before I decided to grow out my hair, I shaved my head completely and started from scratch. So 14 months on me will be different from those who started with longer hair.
@@daelocs ohhhh see thats pertinent information, you have to let the people know!!!, but regardless you and your hair are beautiful. #Black Power
